An Unexpected Rescue

"I believe you." Malekith said after a moment, glancing at the creature.

The creature understood what Malekith wanted him to do, he was mere moments from shoving a blade into Frigga's back when he suddenly felt himself get pushed over and landed on the floor. The creature looked up to see Padfoot growling at him, while standing in his battle mode. The creature tried to get up only to have Padfoot charge at him and shove him hard into a pillar, Malekith moved towards Frigga who quickly lashed out and kicked him in the stomach, causing him to take a few steps back.

Padfoot turned and charged at Malekith, he jumped at Malekith and tried to go for his throat only for the creature to quickly grab him from behind. Malekith quickly picked up his fallen blade and was about to use it against Padfoot when suddenly a red curse struck Malekith, sending his body into extreme pain, pain which was followed by more pain when a lightning blast burnt half of his face. The creature looked to see Thor throw Mjolnir just as Harry aimed his wand at him.

Mjolnir struck the creature, sending him backwards and causing him to release Padfoot. A killing curse from Harry hit the creature, but it quickly got up. Harry was surprised by that, even if he didn't show it, it was possible that either the armour or the actual creature could protect it from the killing curse. Harry himself was proof that it didn't always work.

The big creature rushed to Malekith with surprising and unexpected speed, it grabbed Malekith and used its own body to protect him and try to get him away, Mjolnir along with a blast from Harry struck the creature on the back and it along with Malekith fell off the balcony as they tried to escape. But not before Padfoot was able to painfully rip out a piece of Malekith's leg. Thor chased after them, meanwhile Harry ran to Frigga and slid down to a kneeling position.

"Are you okay?" Harry asked her as his mask disappeared and his hood lowered itself.

"I'm fine." She said, breathing a sigh of relief.

"That's good," Harry said before he created a small container, Padfoot quickly rushed over and handed him a piece of Malekith's leg which Harry placed into the container before shrinking it and pocketing it. Frigga raised an eyebrow at him. "shush." Harry said as he pressed a finger to his lips. Frigga's lips thinned briefly before she nodded and smiled at him, Harry stood up before he helped her get up to her feet.

"Mother, are you alright?" Thor asked in a concerned voice as he stepped alongside them and placed a hand on his mother's arm.

"I am unharmed." Frigga responded.

"Frigga!" A voice called as Odin entered the chamber.

"Odin." Frigga breathed out when she saw him.

"Stop," Harry said to Odin when he saw him move forward. "is that the real Odin?" Harry asked Padfoot as he held his wand tightly.

"Woof." Padfoot nodded after sniffing the air.

"In that case don't let me interrupt." Harry said quickly before he took a step back, Odin shot him a look before making his way over to Frigga.

"Are you okay my queen?" Odin asked as the two held each other.

"I've been better." Frigga said dryly once they let each other go.

"I had feared the worse." Odin admitted.

"The worse had nearly come, and would have come if not for Thor and his friend." Frigga said as she gestured to Harry. "That's not to mention this brave hero in front of me, who saved my life." She smiled as she hugged Padfoot.

Odin was about to say something but suddenly paused when he looked at Padfoot, he knew that was the same dog as before but it had changed. It's bright green eyes and dark fur brought back memories that Odin would have preferred to stay away from, he then looked at Harry. Now that he was less worried about his wife's health he could think properly and he stiffened upon seeing what Harry was wearing.

"W… where did you get that?" Odin asked as he gestured to Harry's armour.

"A crazy old lady showed it me." Harry said as the armour disappeared, he looked at Odin who had an almost constipated look on his face.

"Are you alright?" Frigga asked in a concerned voice.

"I'm fine." Odin said quickly before he turned around and walked away.

...

"What the bloody hell is up with him?" Harry asked once Odin had left, his armour had just vanished, leaving him back in trainers, jeans, a grey shirt and a black leather jacket.

"I don't know." Thor frowned.

"I'm sure he just has a lot on his mind," Frigga commented, though she didn't sound like she wasn't worried. "anyway, I have to thank you." She said to Padfoot.

"Just give him some food and he will be fine." Harry replied.

"Woof!" Padfoot barked in agreement as he turned back to normal.

"I will try and arrange something," Frigga smiled. "I am sure that by tomorrow Fandral will be spreading tales about how the Queen of Asgard was saved by the fierce and fearsome Padfoot."

"Woof!" Padfoot barked proudly as he sat down and thrust his chest out.

"No… I don't think we can convince Odin to make a statue of you." Harry shook his head, "Anyway," Harry continued as he turned to Frigga, ignoring Padfoot's whine. "was anyone else hurt?"

"Jane!" Thor blurted out suddenly. "What about about Jane?!" He asked quickly.

"She is fine, Thor." Frigga answered.

"I am here." A voice said, everyone turned to see Jane walk towards them.

"Jane!" Thor smiled as he walked towards her and pulled her into a hug, one which Jane gladly returned. "I feared the worse."

"Your mother helped me." Jane admitted once they stopped hugging, though the two were still holding hands.

"I am simply glad that you had the good sense to obey my instructions." Frigga smiled.

"You could have died for me." Jane said in a quiet voice, touched that this goddess would risk herself for someone who would die long before she could gain another wrinkle on her face or even a single grey hair on her head.

"Dying to save an innocent life is not something I would consider a waste." Frigga replied without hesitation.

"Dying to save someone is undoubtedly one of the better ways to go." Harry commented.

"Indeed," Frigga nodded before turning to Thor. "I must say son, I really approve of your selection of friends, the fact that they can listen to me show they have some brains." She smirked as Thor shook his head in amusement.

"That creature," Harry said suddenly. "the one with Malekith, what was it?" He asked. "It was different from the other dark elves."
