Orion looked directly into Kane's frowning eyes and said, "You can't do anything here—nobody can. She has to die, and no one can stop that."

Merlin became even more desperate, seeing that even Kane couldn't change Orion's decision.

Still, he tried to reason with him. "Orion, listen to me, killing Lu—"

Kane couldn't finish his words, for he saw a crazed expression on Orion's face as he muttered something.

"Explode!"

All the people enclosed in purple spheres began to shine with a bright purple light, rays reflecting off them.

"No!" Kane shouted, not just for Luna, but because his younger brother and sister were still inside the hall. If all the purple spheres exploded, there was no doubt that the entire palace—what remained after Merlin's attack—would be completely destroyed.
