What Was Lost

"So then comes the final problem, the royal lineage your younger brother presently sits as king, he's been led to believe you'll take over which isn't surprising, mixed with the loss of your ring the king probably cannot access the royal treasury any longer which is also putting enormous strain on him as it's like his own castle is telling him he doesn't deserve to be king." <Julius >

"Ah yes... the ring" <Yuri >

clasping her hands together and she rubbed the finger which thanks to Julius had regrown but the feeling of loss at having severed it once before to be rid of the imperial ring still remained a fresh trauma in her mind.

"So we have a few different ways we can do this, but the one you want is obviously going to be the one with the least amount of bloodshed yes?" <Julius >

"That goes without saying" <Yuri >

"So with that being said here's the plan..." <Julius >

_______________

* * Roserun Kingdom POV * *

"Your Majesty!" <Noble >

"What is it?" <King Roserun>

It was still fairly early in the day, the meeting with his sister the other day had not gone as he'd hoped she clear saw him as unfit to rule and that caused his blood to boil, but after leaving she'd made no moves, his spy's informed him that both her and that man never left their inn once returning to it.

And so thinking the world was his oyster to do as he pleased once more, the king began taking breakfast until a noble one of his retainers who'd recently taken up the post entered the room with a pale face and visibly sweating.

"It's... Well... you seee." <Noble >

"Spit it out already!!" <King Roserun>

"The treasury it's open!" <Noble >

"Wah! That's great news, it seems the gods really do see my divine right to rule!" <King Roserun>

"No that's not all your Majesty please wait, while the treasury was found to be open it... well it was also found to have been emptied..." <Noble >

The noble repeatedly bowing his head and struggling to get the words out informed his king of the worst possible news, their royal treasury while once again being accessible had been raided, pillaged in the night by forces unknown.

But who could have done it, his sister was under heavy surveillance while her return could explain the treasury opening it could not explain the disappearance of quite literally tons of metal coins, weapons, armor, scrolls, books, artwork and many more treasures as of yet not mentioned.

As the King sat blankly staring at the plate of food before him, his own queen then entered the room, she was one of King Tutanka's daughters a princess of Lunan if you will forced upon the young king by their at the time overseers.

"Dear! It's terrible they've stolen my jewels!" <Queen Roserun>

"What?" <King Roserun>

After hearing it from her own lips, the king was beyond angry not only had someone raided his treasury but as the day wore on he found that his entire castle had been ransacked and everything of significant worth had been taken, even his own throne had disappeared with a simple wooden stool having been left in it's place within the grand hall.

While he was busy thinking as to how this could have happened more nobles appeared visibly irate and complaining to their monarch about their own belongings having gone missing in the night.

So it wasn't just him, but all those who'd stayed in the castle...

Had this place been cursed?

As the king sat pondering, his General and Overall Commander of the Kingdom's forces and the Capital's garrison now entered.

"Your Majesty! A large company of carriages has been spotted leaving through the southern gate and heading away from the capital!" <General Bellac>

He was the man most shamed thanks to the princess and Julius during the war with Bridget however he managed to maintain his position though mostly through violence against his own people.

Putting two and two together the king jumped to his feet eyes bloodshot and spittle flying from his mouth!

"Dispatch the army! The garrison i don't even care send everyone to capture that convoy!! They've stolen from me and for that they shall know a pain for worse than death, Supreme General you lead the men regain what was taken from us, and when we find out who has dared to shame us in this way we shall retaliate a hundredfold until they themselves are capable of dying from shame!" <King Roserun>

The young king was greatly incensed, as it stood now his kingship was broke, but the General seeing the opportunity saluted to his king before departing and within minutes the strolling soldiers began to form up and hastily march out the southern gate giving chase to the convoy of carriages that had been seen leaving the capital early in the morning.

The chase was on, and with it the bet on whether their kingdom would survive as well.
