Her words resounded through the ears of every villager present, some quickly understood and took a knee while others stared on at her dazed, meanwhile behind her stood Miri, and Zeff, along with Zeff's entire Slave mercenary corp dressed for battle.
"Subjects, but wait that means..." <Gordon >
Gordon was relatively slow to process to newest arrival until it sunk in and he dropped to his knees and began begging for forgiveness.
"There is no need to kneel, you have been through enough and i have not the power nor the will to see my people subservient to anyone" <Serena >
The villages looked to one another before rising up.
"I'm ashamed to say this, and for hiding it from you all but yes i am the Former Queen of our country ousted by the pretender who now sits atop the throne after slaying my husband, at first we just ran looking for a break to rest and recover but after seeing what this new king does to his own people... it makes my blood boil so, i intend to go back to the capital, to take back our lands, to reclaim the throne in the name of the kingdom not in the name of the rebellion which has caused so much pain!" <Serena >
The village's current population more than doubled after the captives from the other villages were freed and collectively their spirits were alighted at the Queen's speech.
Discussions were held again through the night and by morning it was agreed that not just the men but also some women who volunteered would serve in the reclamation army under Serena's command, riders were sent out to announce the formation of this army, and people likewise headed back to the capital to spread the news that the Queen was coming for the tyrant's head.

Days passed and our operations grew, luckily we had plenty of food as the harvest just happened and Manshak had all his looted spoils within his caravan.
The army itself was pretty poor with only a few real weapons, but our numbers had swelled to a couple thousand.
Intelligence likewise was flowing like water through a sieve as the capital was basically already in open rebellion against their occupiers.
Which makes this the perfect moment to stage our own invasion.
And so the Carthage liberation army, led by our Figurehead Queen Serena set off for the capital.
The fools within still thinking all was fine, or rushing around trying to stamp out the sparks, and flames of rebellion within the capital's very walls.

-- Rashok POV --
"Any word from my son yet?" <Rashok >
"None Your Majesty, however, you know how he is, he's probably just visiting more of the villages looking for girls he adores." <Noble >
"*Sigh* he remains for now my rightful heir but the minute I sire another that fool will meet his end!" <Rashok >
"Yes your majesty" <Noble >
"Any word that we've captured the queen yet?" <Rashok >
"None milord, we've confirmed the King, and Count Dolfe along with most of the hierarchy's deaths when we stormed the city, but that slippery viper somehow managed to elude us." <Noble >
"She'd be a fertile ground for me to sow my royal line, and with her status as the former queen i can gain stability by connecting to the old line!" <Rashok >
"It's a good thing that pervert king had such a fine taste in women Your Majesty!" <Noble >
"And after having to lay with that old bastard, she'd happily spread her legs for a young stallion such as myself, i can almost hear her begging me now to be the ... " <Rashok >
Entering his own fantasy world the new king Rashok stopped caring about the world around him.
until he was broken out of his illicit stupor by a noble shaking his shoulder.
"Your majesty, your majesty" <Noble >
"MMmm, huh what? What is it?" <Rashok >
"Milord, it seems we're under attack!" <Noble >
"Mmm? Attack, how is that possible, most of the lords accepted our rebellion, and those that haven't approved are busy waging their little civil war, that's hundreds of kilometres from here though?" <Rashok >
"It seems it's not the neighboring lords, Sir, apparently it's a revolt against your rule by the commoners." <Noble >
"My people? Why would my people attack me?" <Rashok >
"We're not quite sure milord but it seems to be quite a number of them marching on the capital walls, and it seems the citizens of the city have gotten wind of it somehow as they are likewise revolting resulting in us having even fewer soldiers needed to protect the walls." <Noble >
"Ridiculous, commoners up against our soldiers, that's not even a fight how dare you disrupt my deep thoughts for something like this, I'm done with the court for today, if anything really troublesome comes up then come find me" <Rashok >
With that the King stood up and walked out of the room.
As he walked through the halls of the Royal palace his heart still elated to know he got everything he wanted but the moment was ruined a little as he didn't get the rush he was honestly expecting when he became the king, the situation wasn't anything like what he expected.
Why would these commoners not like him being the king, after all he's infinitely better than that old bastard who already had both feet in the grave.
And as for the civilware well that was going to happen anyway once the king died naturally as the ducal houses all struggled to place their chosen king on the throne, my brother and me just beat them to it, by being smarter than all of them.
Having become tired from the endless talks brought about by the traitorous nobles and his own retainers the king entered his room locked the door and dove onto his bed.
Hastily falling asleep, without a care in the world, or bothering to take a look outside to see his royal capital embroiled in a bitter struggle that had already set parts of the city ablaze.
