Haughty Salesman

The Delacroix family's regular boutique was in a luxurious mall in the capital, the Mall of Rithoria. The place was known as a haven, as it houses many famous boutiques and jewelry stores.

Irene's mother's jewelry store used to be in the mall. Unfortunately, the jewelry store was no longer successful after Valencia died, and her father did not want to bother paying the rent for the bankrupt store.

"Would you like to have lunch or look around the other stores before going to the boutique?" asked Amber.

Instead of answering, Irene asked back, "Are you going to follow me around all day?" Irene lowered her sunglasses so she could see Amber's face more clearly.

"Mr. Delacroix asked me to assist you today, Miss Russell."

Irene couldn't help but sigh. She had never had an assistant who followed her everywhere, so she still felt uncomfortable with Amber's presence.

Amber noticed Irene's discomfort as well, so she couldn't help but ask, "Do you want me to follow you from a distance?"

"No, you don't have to do that. Shopping alone is boring anyway." She put her sunglasses in her purse and then walked into the mall. "By the way, I want to look for new clothes first, because mine are too shabby for this place."

Most people who came to this place wore branded clothes from head to toe, even the price of an item they used could probably support a modest family until they died.

They walked confidently, showing off their expensive clothes as if they were in the middle of a fashion show. Because of them, ordinary people didn't dare enter the place or they would wear fake brand clothes so as not to look different from the wealthy people.

When Irene entered one of the luxury clothing stores, the sales assistants moved their pupils up and down to observe her appearance.

Irene grunted inwardly, thinking she had walked into the wrong store. That type of store always judged their customers' appearance and served them differently.

Her clothes didn't look bad, but the brand wasn't that impressive. From the looks of the sales, they must have thought Irene just wanted to look around and left without buying anything.

"May I help you, Miss?" One of the salesmen approached her, but he wasn't smiling and looked rather haughty.

Irene wanted to leave the store as soon as possible, but there was one dress that caught her eye. She pointed to the dress and asked, "Can I try that dress, please?"

The beige dress, made of the finest silk satin, fell elegantly to the knee and could capture a woman's curve. Irene loved the sleeveless dress because it was simple yet elegant and luxurious.

However, the salesman's words made her heart fill with resentment. "I'm afraid the dress is too expensive, so you can't try it on before you buy it."

Irene folded her hands, then moved her pupils to the corner of the room. "In that case, why is there a changing room in this store? I can see some people trying on clothes in there."

"They're our regular customers, and they're used to buying many clothes here," he replied.

"How funny." Irene chuckled. "If you serve me well, maybe I can become a regular customer too."

Before the salesman could answer, Irene had thrown the black card at him. She lowered her head, read his name tag, and said, "Can you get me that dress, Mr. Dean Collins?"

With just one card, his demeanor changed drastically. His hands trembled as he realized he had made a huge mistake by confronting the woman before him. He quickly lowered his eyes and smiled broadly at Irene.

"I'll get it for you right away, miss."

As he hurried toward the dress the mannequin was wearing, Irene whispered to Amber. "Does Sebastian invest in expensive clothing stores like this?"

Amber, "Mr. Delacroix not only invested in brand clothing stores, he invested in this mall."

"Remember his name and the name of this store. This kind of store can ruin the reputation of this mall." Irene continued, "Sebastian will lose if this place's reputation is ruined."

"I'll make a note of it, ma'am." Amber immediately sent a message to someone on her cell phone. Irene didn't ask anything, but she knew the store would be in trouble as soon as that person received Amber's message.

"Sorry to keep you waiting," the salesman handed Irene the dress. Without looking at his face, Irene grabbed the dress and headed for the dressing room.

As she wore the dress, Irene curled the corner of her mouth. The dress could vividly capture her curves, making her look more elegant and beautiful. She styled her hair into a bun, leaving her neck and shoulders exposed.

Irene didn't need to use a necklace as an accessory because her neck already looked naturally beautiful. She stroked her neck and suddenly remembered that Sebastian had covered that beautiful neck with bite marks.

She shook her head quickly and even patted her cheeks a few times to get rid of that perverted thought. Even though they had only had sex once, the memory was hard to erase from Irene's mind.

If they had decided to become sex partners, Irene certainly wouldn't have objected. However, she did not want to suggest it openly to preserve her dignity.

"Miss Russell, do you need any help?" asked Amber after Irene had not come out of the dressing room for some time.

"I'm fine. I'm just putting on some makeup."

Irene came out of the dressing room with her hair and makeup done. Her different appearance made the employees and visitors turn their eyes to Irene.

The dress didn't have any flashy colors or excessive accessories, but it looked even more beautiful on Irene's body as if it had been made especially for her.

"Ma'am, do you need anything else?" the salesman said shamelessly. He was hoping that Irene would want to buy some more clothes so that he could get a bonus. Unfortunately, Irene didn't want to interact with the person who had humiliated her just moments before.

"This store is too small for me, even I feel suffocated. Besides, except for this dress, the clothes you sell look like garbage."

The salesman could only remain silent for fear of offending Irene further. He was a little relieved that Irene didn't want to call her manager after being treated so rudely by him.

Irene didn't want to waste any more time in the store, so she quickly left after paying for her dress. As she walked out, she could faintly hear the store manager angrily calling out Dean Collins' name.

Irene smiled. "I didn't know you could work that fast, Mrs. Cain."

"It was just a small matter for me, ma'am."

Irene didn't know what report Amber had given, but she guessed it was so bad that the manager's shouting voice could be heard even though Irene was far away.

"Do you want something to eat first?" asked Amber.

"I'm not that hungry. Let's go to the boutique first, then I want to shop for something else."

Amber nodded. "We can take the VIP elevator."

The elevator could only be used by people who owned shares in the mall or rich people who bought a membership card. Meanwhile, Irene did not have to spend any money, but her feet could stand in an elevator worth tens of thousands of dollars.

"Money can indeed make my life easier," Irene whispered to herself.

The Crystal Boutique was located on the tenth floor of the mall, a floor that was reserved for the upper class. The interior of that floor was even different from the floors below. Here, Irene could see gleaming marble floors and soaring glass ceilings that made the surroundings extravagant.

As Irene stepped out of the elevator, she was greeted by the scent of exotic perfumes and the soft melody, creating an ambiance of refinement and sophistication. From haute fashion houses to bespoke jewelers and artisans, the tenth floor was a haven for connoisseurs of refinement.

As soon as Irene entered the boutique, all the sales assistants smiled and greeted her enthusiastically. "Welcome, Miss Russell."

Irene raised an eyebrow, then turned to Amber. Before she could ask, Amber had already said, "Mr. Delacroix has already told them that his fiancee is coming. But don't worry, they won't share that information with anyone else."

A middle-aged woman with brown hair and gray eyes approached them. Her genuine smile made her face look even more sweet and beautiful. From her name tag, Irene knew she was the boutique manager.

"Good afternoon, Miss Russell. My name is Miranda Glenn." She extended her hand to shake Irene's. "We have selected some of the best wedding dress designs in the boutique. Would you like to see them in the waiting room? If you don't like them, I can make you a new one."

Irene smiled. "My wedding is in a few weeks, so I don't think you can make a new dress in time. But can you modify the dress if there are things I don't like?"

"Of course, ma'am. You can trust me with your wedding dress."

Miranda took Irene to the VIP room so she could have some privacy. But before she opened the door, Irene saw two shadowy figures sitting in the room.

"Is there anyone else in there?" asked Irene.

The smile on Miranda's face widened. "Your sister arrived a few minutes ago. I think your relationship is so sweet that you want to buy wedding dresses together."
