But Gao Yan felt that none had the aura of the person in front of her now.
As she was thinking, Bai Lian entered the room with Jiang Fulai carrying two books behind her. He was dressed in a soft, casual outfit, yet his usually stern expression hung like frost.
"Auntie," Jiang Fulai lifted his head, taking the rare initiative to greet someone.
He placed the two books on the table, and the unsociable chill about him dissipated.
Gao Yan snapped back to reality, she glanced inadvertently at Jiang Fulai, then turned her gaze to Bai Lian, wanting to reach out and pull her hand, but was held back by Xu Nanjing, who emotionlessly urged her to be reserved.
Gao Yan shot Xu Nanjing a glance and had to settle for greeting Bai Lian, "You're Lianlian, right?"
"Auntie, hello," Bai Lian looked up and greeted her sincerely.
Pretty, and well-behaved.
This was straight out of a dream, Gao Yan covered her chest.
Uncle Lin stepped forward to attend to them.
