The word about a group of fighters named the Shadow League reached all the kingdoms in days, with talks of them appearing and defeating the beasts.

Ezra had made sure to only help in small towns and villages; they never once attacked the beasts in any city.

The reason was that those bigger towns and cities would have powerful people that would make things hard for them, so they didn't go there.

Still, they managed to get their name out, so much so that higher nobles and even the king heard of it, and then they disappeared.

Though the true demon was still in the mountains, the beast wave had reduced greatly, and people were able to resume their daily lives, under heavy watch, that is.

Ezra left his house and was about to go meet and collect his pay for the spells when he saw a carriage pull up in front of his house.

A butler came down from the carriage and opened the door, and Violet emerged.
