"Let the marriage rites begin!" Oberon announced.
The guests clapped while the dancers and muscisians walked in to entertain them. The dancers swayed with so much agility and the musicians did very well in their music.
Nyx made sure she didn't start a conversation with Oberon.
"I hope you're enjoying yourself?" Oberon asked.
She nodded and forced a smile, "Uh.. yes.. yes, I am." She fiddled with her fingers avoiding his gaze.
"I hope you drink wine, hun?"
She creased her brows and looked at him, "Huh?"
"Do you drink wine?" He asked again.
She blinked her eyes, dazed.
"What's wrong?"
She shook her head,"No, no, your highness, I don't."
"Mmh..." He nodded slowly and looked away.
The dancers finished performing, there was a round of applause from the guests.
The wedding banquet was about to begin.
"Try as much as possible to smile at the guests, you don't have to show them how depressed you are." Oberon whispered.
Nyx felt hurt when he said those words, was she really showing our depression? She was depressed after all! She wanted all our emotions out of her and not veiling them behind a fake smile.
Sadly, she just had to put on that fake smile, something she hated so much.
It was soon time for the wedding banquet, Oberon led Nyx to the head table and they both reclined at the head table.
The feast went on, with a lot of speeches, toasts and also, the couple was being showered with countless gifts and well wishes.
Now it was time for the exchange of gifts, they all exchanged their gifts.
The wedding ceremony was indeed a very large one.
After all these, the newly wedded couple knelt down in front of Elena to receive her blessings.
"I wish you all the good things life has to offer. May you both be blessed and live a happy married life." She grinned.
They moved around to take other elders blessings.
The wedding ceremony was finally over.
...
Nyx had changed into something much more lighter. She wore a red, silk, nightgown. She stood at the window, staring at the skies.
She used to sleep under the skies when she was much younger, it gave her the hope and the peace she always wanted.
She would always wish for better days ahead, for her family to love and cherish her again and to get married to the love of her life.
As fate wanted it to be, she couldn't get any of her wishes, none of them came true. She exhaled, "I just have to accept it, I'm the Luna now." She told herself, probably to console herself.
She felt a presence behind her, she turned and saw it was Oberon.
"Good evening your Majesty." She curtsied.
He looked at her and squinted his eyes, "Seems you have a very bad memory huh?" He smirked.
She frowned, "No I don't, my memory is very good, perfect infact." She replied.
"Is that so?" He shook his head, "I told you to call me by name, did I not?" He arched his brow.
Her lips formed an 'oh', "I'm sorry." She apologized.
"Just correct your mistake. That's all." He looked ahead.
She sighed and looked ahead too.
"Finally, I can get crowned now." He muttered to himself.
"Crowned?" She said out loud.
He raised his brows in realisation, "Mmh?"
"You can get crowned?" She asked again and turned to face him.
He nodded, "Well that doesn't matter. I was talking about something else." He shook his head.
She nodded and turned around.
He looked at her behind, "Uh-huh? You're nice." He bit his lips .
She stiffened, "What's that?" Her heart raced.
He moved closer, "I mean, you have a nice body." He spoke in her ears.
Her body shivered, "Uh..."
He chuckled, "It's okay, I won't do anything." He drew back and walked back to the bed.
She closed her eyes and exhaled deeply, her hand on her chest.
"Aren't you ready to sleep yet?" He arched his brow.
She faced him and shook her head, "I'm not sleepy."
"Is that it or are you scared?" He smirked.
She bit her lips, "I'm not scared, I'm not just sleepy yet." She replied.
He cocked his head to the side, "Mmh."
She was confused, "I don't understand."
"Well, I'm just saying, you don't have to be scared of me. I'm a complete gentleman." He smirked again.
This reminded her of what he told her yesterday, he had said these same words but still kissed her.
She frowned and looked away, "I don't think so." She muttered.
"Stop being childish, it's not as if you haven't been in bed with me."
She shivered when she heard those words, her mind raced, she was already thinking dirty. She quickly snapped her head.
"What was I thinking?" She slapped her head.
"About me of course, what else?"
She was irritated, "No it wasn't." She snapped.
He turned to look at her, surprise in his eyes.
She covered her mouth and looked at him, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..." She shook her head.
A corner of his mouth went up, "Huh.. someone's turning into a lion now." He laughed.
"No, I'm not." She whined.
He threw his head backwards, rippling with laughter, "Then what are you? A viper? A she bear? Who knows maybe a she... beast." He laughed hard.
"Do you really derive pleasure from taunting others?" She shook her head.
"I don't usually do so but doing it to you feels so good." He held his chest.
"Don't complain when I start very soon. Hmph." She raised her nose in annoyance.
He laughed harder, "What? You... taunt me? You're so funny." He held his stomach and lay back on the bed unable to control himself, he laughed hard for a long while.
"You should be a comedian, you are actually making me laugh this hard!" He laughed.
She was feeling frustrated, she folded her arms, "I won't talk to you anymore." She looked away.
He was still struggling with his laughter, "Wait... huh? Why?" He stopped laughing.
"You were laughing at me."
"That's not a reason to be so grumpy now." He shook his head.
"You think everything is funny? You've been laughing for no reason." She frowned.
His smile disappeared.
"Are you angry now? I thought it was all a joke?" He shrugged.
"Well it's not, I wasn't joking."
He folded his arms looking amused, "You're such a funny character. Do you take everything I say to heart?
She rolled her eyes, this man was pissing her off, why did fate decide to bring her to this man?
"Fine then, don't talk to me, let's see who talks to each other first." He rolled his eyes and entered the bed.
She blinked and looked at him, "Huh?" But he had already faced the other side, tucked in the sheets.
She pouted, "Fine then." She rolled her eyes and looked walked out of the room angrily, shutting the door behind her.
He raised his head to look at the door, "Why is she so grumpy? I was only joking and she took an offence."
"This is what you get by being too jovial. I'll just have to be my normal straight and cold self again." He sighed and lay back on the bed.
