Skill or not, I killed her

Although furious at Li Chen, she focused her fury on the two men she trusted amongst the bunch of criminals she led.

"Get out of my way!" She hissed, lightly stomped the roof and soared into the air, her arms spread wide as she moved her legs like she ran mid-air.

Her phoenix-shaped eyes narrowed when she saw Pig Yun leaping with the aim of catching her foot.

"You pig!" Snarling, she blasted flames, scorching his bronze face. Xiu Ying followed up with a kick that sent him hurling toward the ground at a faster speed.

Noticing her descent, Xiu Ying's eyes sharpened and she somersaulted backward, evading Tiger Yi's claws.

His white robe created a white flash as he swooshed past her, growling deeply when he noticed she wasn't harmed.

'Her spell is stronger than I imagined. Who is this woman? Well, I'll find that out after dealing with these two fish heads.' Xiu Ying thought, slid her left leg to the back and her blade trembled.

Her fiery aura became actual golden flames and her curly brunette hair fluttered. With piercing golden eyes and a formidable aura, Xiu Ying was akin to a flame goddess descending into the world of mortals.

"Condesation!" she whispered. Flames whirled before her and condensed into a tiny marble.

As Tiger Yi rushed forward, boosting his speed with his attunement to the air element, Xiu Ying scoffed, "There's a big difference between a 20 star immortal human and one with 30 stars. Know your place!"

Swinging her sword, it slashed the marble and it exploded into a flame arc. Tiger Yi tried using a body technique to boost his defense but Xiu Ying's strike blasted him over twenty meters backwards.

THUD —!

His knees hit the ground and he clutched his stomach. Blood seeped from the corners of his lips yet Xiu Ying walked past him without emotion.

Li Chen blinked twice. He couldn't believe Xiu Ying would do that to someone who had worked for her for years!

Was this the epitome of heartlessness or did the situation demand it?

Whatever it was, nothing was about to change his view of Xiu Ying. She was breathtakingly alluring but that didn't change the fact that her attitude alarmed him.

Without helping your master or involving yourself in plots, useful or not, there will be no chance to use your bloodline art. And that means you won't be able to rewrite a catastrophic future.

Li Chen's eyes narrowed when he saw the Chinese characters appear mid-air, right before him. From the look of things, he was the only one who could see the vivid writing hovering mid-air.

'I so wish I'm just having a nightmare!'

Lifting his head, he saw Xiu Ying combating the spirit. The spirit sat before her zither and each pluck of the string sent a deadly wave of physical and mental force, which Xiu Ying countered with her flames and will.

They were both using martial techniques of mortal and sky grades. And each of them was 5-star or higher.

"Dance of the storm!" The spirit hissed, star energy coursing through her form as she plucked faster and a melodious tune spread out.

The rain became Xiu Ying's enemy as it turned to deadly blades coming from all sides. Accurately deflecting the attacks, Xiu Ying couldn't help but retreat despite her frustration.

"Bitch!" She cursed.

"Mind your words, little girl." The spirit chuckled seductively and sent another wave, which managed to make cuts on Xiu Ying's arms, cutting her delicate skin.

"Ah! Void Slash!" Xiu Ying's eyes transformed into those of an actual phoenix and the image of a phoenix made of fire appeared behind her.

"The heavenly phoenix! Little girl, who are you?!" The spirit panicked and sent all sorts of attacks but a torrent of fire descended on her.

A screech pierced the air as the woman screamed. But when the flames died, she emerged; however, her skin had been burned beyond recognition.

Staring at Xiu Ying, who collapsed on her knees, panting heavily, the spirit approached. Her malicious energy billowed, wrapping around her hideous form.

"I don't care who you are but with one of the top five bloodlines in the heavenly domain, my ascent will be witnessed by all!" Glee shone in her eyes as she stood before Xiu Ying and lifted her chin.

"All this beauty will be mine-" Her voice halted and she lowered her head to the sword that had pierced her from behind.

[Die, ugly Vixen!] Li Chen scowled, pulled out his sword, and coated it with his light element, which gave the blade a golden hue.

The spirit couldn't identify the element but it struck her with great fear. "Wait…"

Li Chen didn't consider listening to her as he swung his blade, decapitating the spirit, who had also exhausted her energy.

[This is the reason cultivating body art for defense is not supposed to be optional.]

Seeing the glowing words hovering mid-air, Xiu Ying had never felt so happy to see Li Chen. Her pupils dilated when she saw him flicker out of the darkness.

'What sort of element is that?' She thought, stunned, that he had approached them but neither she nor the spirit had noticed.

Xiu Ying pushed it into her exhausted state, which seemed like a believable excuse. However, Li Chen cultivated his star energy with a manual, which was 10-star- Sky- grade!

The Sacred Moon and Stars was a manual he created after watching a Chinese animation of heroes summoning hundreds of swords and controlling them from a single source.

It was meant to be for the protagonist and it was a manual that needed a partner of the opposite element to reach the peak.

With his denser star energy, no one could battle him at the same level, not even prodigies from great clans.

"What kind of element is that? It opposes itself." Xiu Ying asked, a bit perplexed. In that second, without his control, half of his body glowed with golden light and the other was pitch black.

[I did not create this but it's similar to light and darkness. A supposed non-existent element.] Li Chen answered honestly.

"Tsk!" Xiu Ying clicked her tongue. She didn't know why her slave was so unique. But she wasn't going to give up.

"Such a unique element yet you can't properly wield a sword. Your skill is truly horrible." She spat.

[I still killed her, though. Skill or not, I did the job.]

Suddenly, footsteps echoed in the silent street and a group of thugs emerged in great numbers, all wielding different weapons.

"It's her!" Their leader pointed at Xiu Ying after staring at a painting.

Just by seeing these men, Li Chen somehow knew who sent them. 'How in the world did I make her the leader of a bunch of ruthless, selfish bastards? And they're all males!'

Now that he was in this world, characters had lives. What he had overlooked has now turned to bite him.

Someone at the manor had betrayed Xiu Ying, but why?
