"Ian, I must go home. I've stayed longer than I should have and I do not want to disturb you. So please, let go," Scarlet said, raising their hands. They had been like this for a few minutes now and after allowing it at first, Scarlet was ready to put some space between them.
"I will take you home," Ian replied, keeping his hold on Scarlet's hand. "Just give me a few minutes."
"You do not need to take me home. My ride home should be outside. You have work to do," Scarlet said, secretly trying to slip her hand away from his. "I will see you another day."
"I don't have any more work to do after this. I'll leave everything else to Owen so just wait for me. Stop trying to run away," Ian said, tightening his hold on her hand. "It wouldn't be a good look for me to just send you off."
