"Even if I were to give you a chance, you would just end up getting hurt. I don't share the same feelings that you have for me," said Scarlet.

"I am quite aware of that. You won't share those feelings with me if you don't open your heart to me. I am not asking for much, Scarlet. Just that if you feel something for me, at least pursue it. You've been hurt many times but I promise you, I am not here to betray you," Ian said, his hand settling to be lost in her hair.

"Like I said, let's put it to test why you dreamed about me. It's a win-win for you. You get to kiss me again and find out what was behind the dream. Wouldn't you like to get me to stop speaking of it?" Ian asked.

Scarlet didn't need to kiss him to get him to stop talking. "There are many ways that I can get you to not speak. My family is quite skilled with torture."

"I must foolishly confess that kissing me into silence scares me. I suggest that you be the one to do it," Ian joked.
