"From then on I wore the scent which held tinges of hyacinths religiously like a fool," Ariana stared in the front with her fingers clasped in her lap. Though her expression was blank, Nicolai noticed the slight tremor in her voice.
"But I don't smell hyacinths on you anymore," Nicolai pointed out. He did smell the scent of hyacinths on Ariana a few times, but now she smelled more like vanilla or butterscotch. On some days, she smelled of coconuts, but the scent of hyacinths was always missing.
She turned her head to the side and her lips curled up in a mocking smile. She replied, "That's because I hate that scent now. Isn't it funny? I married that man with hopes and dreams that I would get everything that I wanted but instead when I walked out of his life… I lost even what I held dear to me."
"And now that this stalker is sending the bunch of hyacinths to me… I despise them even now."
