Chapter 883: Bright Stars (28)_1

As mentioned previously, Shiller had a penchant for interweaving his plans into intricate twists and turns, which would branch out into many sub-plots, and these sub-plots would further intertwine to create a more complex mess, each causally related and echoing one another.

Though the entire plan may appear linear, in reality, it resembled a city map overrun with subway lines, transformed into a chaotic plane.

However, even the most tangled line has a starting point and an endpoint. Perhaps many still remember that Shiller initially sought death in a quest for his own Valhalla.

Despite the plans being riddled with countless complex sub-plots, Shiller always remained true to his original intention.

Whether it was following the Moonlight Knight aboard the Ship of the Underworld galloping on the River Styx, or embarking on a rebel's journey against the dissatisfaction of a cunning plan without rewards.

Through it all, many may have forgotten, but Shiller never did. He never forgot his dream of having his own Valhalla.

Now he has navigated through this twisted mess, almost reaching the finish line. Although his mind is still engrossed with more twists and turns, he knows it's time to actualize the final goal.

For this, he first took advantage of his interaction with Eternity to divert Eternity's attention to death itself, secretly pointing out Eternity's irregular operations to remind of death's violation of rules, and reported death's malpractice of illegally exploiting resurrection.

Then, he further used the resurrection quota deal to force Death to contact him proactively. Unable to contact him by telephone, Death naturally found its way to the next best option, its most famous tool, Thanos.

Setting a trap to ensnare Thanos, and employing the Hand of Eternity to give Thanos a lesson, meanwhile, it served the purpose of sending a signal to Death.

Shiller knew, these rule-bound beings can see the timeline directly, implying that they can have a complete view of Shiller's plan.

The reason why Eternity let Shiller off so easily is because when it looked back from the river of time, and caught sight of the tangled mess, it realized that not descending to the level of a madman was the basic attribute of a human, and the same applied to a deity.

What kind of person could design such an incredibly complicated plan with countless sub-plots that interconnected and echoed each other? And what's more, have the ability to step-by-step make it a reality?

The answer is simple: a madman.

From a certain point on the time stream, Eternity saw in Shiller a horrifying arrogance unique to the human race. There existed a person in this world who held no respect for anything grand in this universe.

Disregarding all the everlasting rules, not fearing the quicksand of death, and actively embracing insanity. He saw all things, including those self-exalted gods, as mere means to achieve his goals.

This is Shiller's arrogance, and it is the arrogance of humankind.

What brought humanity from savagery, tamed nature, developed society, and established civilization was not the much-praised qualities of modesty and yielding, but the utterly vicious arrogance and greed.

After Eternity discovered this, it did one thing: it stuck a sign on the door of its Temple of Eternity that read "No Entry for Shiller and Shit".

When Death found out about this, it heaved a deep sigh and directly descended before Shiller, asking him, "What do you want to do?"

Shiller laughed and pulled out a plan, which Death, hesitating somewhat, accepted and read aloud its title:

"United Resurrection Office of the Pan-Human Civilization Circle Deity Departments and Heaven Construction Plan."

"Heaven Construction Plan?!" Sitting at a desk, Peter exclaimed in a high-pitched tone, "Can heaven be constructed? I mean... is heaven being built now? I mean... heaven should exist... but..."

Peter had so many questions that he wasn't sure where to start. However, Shiller patiently said, "It's okay, we have plenty of time, I can explain slowly."

In summary, I went to different deity systems and told them that I had contact with Death. In other words, I was taking Death with me, even though they couldn't see it."

As a middleman, I introduced them to Death, to sign a new resurrection contract. But with one condition, all resurrection duties of Pan-Human Civilization Circle deity systems and equivalent forces have to be centralized."

"You can understand it as, earlier they were individual shops on a commercial street. Now they become various departments of one company."

"By the hand of Death, a new building will be established. All resurrection affairs of all deity systems and forces of the same level will be processed in this building. Former management will all become company employees."

"That's why, on the way here, you've seen all kinds of buildings. Almost all Valhallas of deity systems in the Individual Universe have moved here."

Peter nodded thoughtfully, "I get it. Before, everyone had their own company, and each company had a department that primarily managed resurrection services. But due to a change in policy, the performance of these departments was declining."

"So, they teamed up, negotiated with the policy makers and proposed that if they consolidated this department, there would be room for negotiation once their business volume increased. Is that right?"

"Exactly." Shiller nodded contentedly. Speaking to a smart person was simple, Peter understood everything by himself, but he continued explaining:

"As a middleman, I proposed to all deity systems to unite, which then gave them some capital to negotiate with Death, and simultaneously, gave Death some leverage to negotiate with its superior."

"In the past, my buying of votes was wrong. But now, considering the current situation, all the deities, whether they have benefited or suffered from it throughout the Individual Universe, are all protesting. This provides a legitimate reason for Death to report to higher authorities."

"And Death's boss, when faced with this situation, can't just kill everyone off. The best solution is for everyone to step back. As long as the basic stability can be maintained, there is room to negotiate about the resurrection quota and methods."

"After enduring a long drawn-out tug-of-war negotiation, we've arrived at what you've just seen: a genuine United Heaven established by Gods, primarily providing resurrection services, and occasionally used as a place for various deity systems to interact."

"These deity systems can get more resurrection quotas and more relaxed resurrection methods. Death no longer has to sign contracts with them one by one, nor worry about previous investments being wasted due to company bankruptcy. Eternity benefits from stability, fixing relationships with Death while also winning the hearts of the people. It's a win-win situation for all parties involved."

Shiller chuckled, saying, "And as you've probably noticed, I played a selfless role throughout the process, asking for no compensation whatsoever. As you know, that's just the kind of person I am... "

Peter, unable to bear much more, turned his gaze to the chart on the table and said, "I've finished filling it out. Doctor, where do we go next?"

Shiller, who seemed somewhat lost in his own reminiscences, snapped out of it. He said, "Oh, Goddess, could you please sign and stamp this? I am going to take him to get some living supplies. After all, the few humans who came recently will not be resurrected in the short term and will stay here for a while, so they must have their living supplies."

The Hippo Goddess nods, pulls out a large stamp, clamps it to the chart, then signs, saying, "Turn left out the door, to the right; take the supply list from Life Supplies."

Shiller grabbed the chart and led Peter out, taking the passage on the right and turning left into another office. Moon God Khonsu, with his skeleton falcon's head, was idly fiddling with his magic wand.

"Hello, Your Eminence, the Moon God. I've brought a new angel to get his living supplies", Shiller said, placing the form on Khonsu's desk.

Khonsu's Skull Head didn't move at all. An official seal materialized on the form with a "click" of his upper and lower jaw.

Then he slowly extended his hand, pulling out a document full of item names from the bottom drawer, tapped the bottom of the document with his magic wand and continued to fiddle with it as he held his head low.

Unfazed, Shiller took the attendance chart and the list of goods and led Peter towards the warehouse. Arriving outside the warehouse, Peter saw a peculiarly dressed man standing there.

The man was dressed in a long robe embroidered with strange patterns, holding a jade plaque. He wore a hair crown and hairpin in his hair. According to Peter's understanding, this should be the style of the East.

Shiller went up and the man spoke. Peter discovered that as he expected, he was speaking Chinese. Though Peter didn't understand the language, communication didn't solely rely on understanding language here, but also the fluctuations in one's soul, so Peter still managed to understand what he was saying.

"Hello, I brought a new recruit to collect supplies. Also, did the documentation that Doctor Dora requested last time arrive?" Shiller inquired.

The robed man replied, "Greetings. Those specialist books have just arrived. They were brought here through the Six Paths of Reincarnation Passage by the orders of the Wheel King Himself. However, they haven't been stored yet, so you'll likely have to wait until tomorrow to collect them."

"Alright then, I'll just take the living supplies for now." Shiller said with a grin. The robed man gestured towards the inside, saying, "Enter and go straight to the second row of shelves. The halos are on the right shelf. Oh, and remember they're on the right shelf. The halos up there are for the head."

"Last time, a careless ghost came in and took a backlight from Buddhism instead of a halo. He almost got chased out by the Buddhists, so be careful not to take the wrong one."

Shiller nodded, signaled Peter, and both of them walked into the warehouse.

The sights in the warehouse took Peter by surprise. A variety of religious items, cultural items typical to certain regions, publications, weapons, and even daily necessities can all be found on shelves reaching up to the ceiling.

Shiller explained: "Because the organization was put together in a rush, all the deity-system resurrection departments were rather messy during the move. Now all the stuff is piled up here."

"In the beginning, we couldn't tell whose soul belonged to who. Later, this system evolved where everyone's soul had its own tag. You're using my resurrection quota, so you wear a Halo."

"Uh, I was just about to ask about that," Peter scratched his head, "Why a halo?"

"Because angels wear halos." Shiller explained matter-of-factly.

"But as far as I know, most angel figures that are depicted with a halo originate from art; that halo actually originally comes from the Egyptian God Ra, signifying brightness, beauty. Representing Christianity, shouldn't it be a cross?"

"Don't worry about those details." Shiller then went over to the shelf, picked up a halo and put it on Peter's head.

Feeling the halo on his head, Peter said, "That's just what my aunt told me. When I went to mass, I heard the priest in the church say that those who distort the teachings of Christianity will not be able to go to heaven…"

Standing behind Peter adjusting the position of his halo, Shiller said, "But haven't you already made it to Heaven?"

"That's just what I find strange. Isn't it said that only the righteous approved by God can enter Heaven? Has God approved of me?"

"I have approved you, so you can enter Heaven."

"But why...?"

"Because, master doesn't mind."
