30: Confronted by a yandere (〒﹏〒)

After the little demonstration, Asher and Cashel were placed in charge of those with the time space and light elements.

Asher left Cashel in charge of the time and space elements. He would be teaching them how to fight properly with thier respective elements, learning how to save mana and washing off the stigma that came with thier awakenings.

Asher and Mia walked into the nearby forest where the wind was calmly blowing and the trees were dancing to it's tunes.

"Are you going to talk or we're just gonna walk to the end of this forest and back?" Asher questioned.

Mia, at his back was twiddling her fingers as the words she wanted to say we're stuck in her throat.

"I... I want to be your student!" She finally spoke.

Asher stopped walking and he turned around.

"My student?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Y-yes. You made weak elements like water powerful s-so I wanted you to teach me how to use light..."

"I see. Okay, you're my student."

"E-eh? You're not going to make a soul contract or an oath or something?"

"Soul contract? What's that?"

"Nevermind..." Mia was getting used to the fact that Asher didn't have some common sense like the general families and unique magic.

"As my student, the most basic thing you should know is silent casting." Asher's hair floated in the wind and for a second, he looked like an old wise man and he ruined it by smiling smugly.

"Silent casting? You mean..."

"Yes. It's simple, really. Imagine a clear your most basic spell, the size, amount of mana you need." Asher jumped up to a tree and started to use it as a swing.

"Weeeeee!" He felt the wind rush into his face.

Mia was thinking, imagination. A clear imagination.

She closed her eyes for think properly, a small transparent windball, little mana, size of a ball. Imagine...

At the moment she got a clear imagination, she felt something 'click' in her head.

[Windball]

"It worked!" She jumped up and the spell disintegrated.

Asher let the force of his swings throw him up in the hair and flipped him a few times and he landed on his feet.

"There's a disadvantage to silent casting and it's pretty much obvious. You have to keep that image in your mind or your spell will be cancelled. Fighting and thinking at the same time, it's multitasking." Asher lectured, trying to look cool again but the wind wasn't on his side.

"Do you have any light attack spells?" He asked.

"No... That's why I came to you.."

"Right, let's make one."

Asher closed his eyes and held out his hands with his palms closed together. The wind blew and a vein popped at the side of his head.

After a few seconds, Asher's palm started to light up.

"[Star Piercer]"

A condensed beam of light shot out of them and blasted a large hole in the side of a tree, messing up it's balance.

The tree started to fall towards a dazed Mia and Asher jumped up and gave the tree a high kick and the poor thing flung into the distance and brought down more trees with it.

"Okie, your turn." Asher smiled. Testing out a new element always brought a smile to his face.

'I should test out the darkness element one of these days.'

Asher went back to swinging.

"WEEEE!"

"Wait, you didn't teach me how to–"

"It's the same thing! Imagination! IMA–GI–NA–TION!"

"How am I supposed to– Forget it."

Mia closed her eyes and started to think again.

'My part angel bloodline gives me a bigger mana pool over the rest of my peers except those four but... I should be able to do this!'

"[Star Piercer]!"

A light beam, although less powerful than Asher's but still powerful shot through another tree.

Asher let himself be flung off again and he landed.

"Looks like you finally get it." He grinned.

"Let's keep training." Mia's resolve was thick in her voice.

Class was over and everyone were coming out to enjoy the thirty minutes break and Marigold was not an exception.

Her feet carried her to the cafeteria and she decided to take a shortcut through a dark passage. It was where a few labs were and no one turned on tbe lights.

As she passed through the eerie place, she suddenly stopped walking and he expression turned to one of fear.

"You..." She heard a voice behind her.

"You're that girl aren't you?" Eva put her back against the wall and her large scythe was placed behind her.

Marigold didn't wait another second, she imbued mana into her legs and sashed away with heavy breath.

'Is this the end?' She thought. 'There has to be a safezone around here, an ongoing class. Ahh!'

Marigold continued to run but even her mana couldn't keep her going forever and soon, she found what she was looking for.

An ongoing class.

Class 1-D were a little late in schedule and quickly she opened the door and rolled in.

"I'm very sorry, teacher, but–"

Marigold's words froze in her throat as she saw the teacher's face.

It was Eva.

The students sitting in the class all turned to wooden dolls and the door closed immediately.

"N-no way." She backed away.

Eva lifted her scythe with a small smile and Marigold closed her eyes and in a second, she quickly thought of something.

"I only like Cashel!"

"Hm?" Eva stopped.

"Then... Why is your smell on him?"

"That's because... I was just near him, that's all. I never touched him!"

"Even if you didn't, I still have to put some punishment in y'know. No hard feelings. Now speak up, which one of your limbs are you ready to lose?" Eva smiled cruely.

Welp, looks like someone's done for.

I wanna correct something, some of you may have been wondering the difference between an obsidian and black core mage in terms of core colour.

The core gets bigger at the black stage and it gets a lighter shade. Basically, black core is a lighter than obsidian, same for red and crimson and the others.

Thanks for reading!
