Eavesdropping and anger

Chi Cheng thanked his sister for her boundless patience and understanding. Since childhood, living in the identity of Chi Chengxin, he never once disregarded his sister's warnings, nor did he ever disobey her.

Yet, just this once, he needed her to trust him to do the right thing…even if dire consequences accompanied that decision.

"I promise that when my business with General Zhu is over and my plans to enter the Imperial Court with him are completed, I will stay away from him, Jiejie," Chi Cheng pledged with a smile. "Please don't be upset, Jiejie," he pleaded, softening his expression apologetically.

Chi Liwen was utterly defeated. She sighed, pinching her younger brother's cheek until he yelped in pain.

"Don't try to be cute with me," She playfully scolded, continuing to pinch his cheek till it reddened.

"Jiejie, that hurts…" Chi Cheng winced, whining a complaint but his sister simply resorted to pinching his other cheek too.
