Chapter 120

[Third Person's PoV]

As Peter and Gwen left the Baxter Building, Peter's phone rang.

It was Uncle Ben.

"Peter speaking," he said in a customer service voice, which earned him a strange look from Gwen.

"Uh, hey kid, when can you come home? If you don't mind me asking?" Uncle Ben said.

"Why are you being so polite? It's weird… I can stop by now if you want?" Peter said.

"That would be perfect," Uncle Ben said as he hung up.

"Looks like Uncle Ben wants to talk," Peter informed Gwen, who nodded.

As they walked home, Gwen leaned her head towards Peter, still feeling pretty tired.

Peter just smiled and wrapped his hand over her shoulder as they continued walking.

It took them a while due to their slow pace, but they eventually arrived. As they walked in, they were practically tackled into a hug by Aunt May, who began to cry.

They wanted to cry out in pain but held it in as they patted Aunt May's back and comforted her.

"May, you're hurting them; they're in pain," Uncle Ben said with a sigh.

Aunt May quickly backed away and apologized, but they dismissed it as nothing to worry about.

"Please, Peter. Please, Gwen. Stop this," she pleaded with tears in her eyes. "It hurts me to see you like this. I mean, look at you guys—you're injured. Next time you might not get so lucky. I don't want the next time I see you guys to be in a duffle bag, dead."

Peter and Gwen looked away and bit their lips, unable to look May in the face.

Peter took a deep breath and stared into Aunt May's teary eyes. "I'm sorry, Aunt May… We can't. This shows why we can't stop. If we did, who would be out there protecting them from something like this happening?"

Gwen nodded her head in agreement. "This city needs us more than ever. More and more of these freaks are going to keep coming, and we need to be there to stop them."

Uncle Ben went and hugged both of them, placing a hand on the back of their heads. "You guys… Truly, I'm so proud of you. You are carrying a burden no kids your age should."

Aunt May wiped her eyes. "I'm sorry for asking that of you two, even after what you did. But I just couldn't help it."

Gwen shook her head. "We understand, Aunt May. You have nothing to apologize for."

After she cleaned her tears, she smiled at them. "And it goes without saying, even though I want you guys to stop, I'm very proud of you both as well."

Uncle Ben then looked them over. "Have you had time to look over your injuries?"

They gave him an awkward smile and shook their heads. "We had to stop by our internship," Gwen said.

Uncle Ben let out a sigh. "Come, I'll give you guys first aid."

"That's alright," Peter said. "We have equipment for that back in my lab."

Uncle Ben just looked at Peter sadly. "Please."

"But you know what, a building did fall on me, so a little first aid never hurts anyone," Peter said as he followed Uncle Ben.

Both Peter and Gwen ended up receiving first aid from Uncle Ben.

"Ouch, ouch, ouch, ow," Peter complained as alcohol was applied.

Uncle Ben looked at him with a straight face. "No one told you to get a building to collapse on you. If you can deal with that, you can deal with this. Stop being a baby."

After he was done with them, Peter and Gwen said their goodbyes as they had other matters to take care of.

They made their way towards their hideout, and when they arrived, they found Harry waiting for them nervously. He let out a sigh of relief.

"I'm so glad you guys are alright," he said, then looked towards Peter gratefully. "And Pete, thanks for saving my old man."

Peter just waved him off. "Don't worry about it, dude. What are you doing here anyway?"

Harry looked a bit embarrassed. "I got worried about you guys and came to make sure you were alright."

Gwen gave him a teasing grin. "You know you could have just called us, right?"

Harry rubbed the back of his neck, his cheeks gaining a small red tint. "I wanted to see that you were okay with my own eyes. Sorry," he said apologetically.

Peter and Gwen just giggled, causing Harry to grow redder and stand up. "A-anyways, I'll be going," he stuttered.

Peter stopped him. "Dude, relax. You can stay a while longer if you want. We were just about to get ourselves checked out before I go back to building some things."

"I have some research to do. We wouldn't mind the company," Gwen said.

"Wait, you guys aren't planning on getting some rest?" Harry asked, looking worried.

Peter and Gwen shook their heads. "We can't really rest now. We don't know what else might show up, so we have to make some preparations."

Harry let out a frustrated groan as he ruffled the back of his hair. "You guys really should get some rest… but fine, I'll stay. But it's only to make sure you aren't overworking yourselves."

"Thanks, Mom," Peter and Gwen teased.

He slowly raised his middle finger at them, causing them both to laugh until their injuries hurt.

After Peter and Gwen received more intensive first aid, Gwen went on to work on her secret project.

Meanwhile, Peter put on the neural transmitter headband. "So, Aria, how close are we to completing the creation of all the spiderbots?"

"Actually, they're already done. It only took a week to make," Aria said seriously. "We underestimated how helpful the spiderbots were in creating the others. The more that were built, the faster the productivity became."

"Good," Peter said excitedly, while Harry looked at them in confusion.

"Spiderbots?"

Peter just smirked. "Watch this."

Harry was still confused until he heard multiple pitter-patters on the metal floor. The door burst open as a tiny wave of what looked like baby spiders appeared.

Peter controlled them to form into a hand and wave at Harry.

Harry subconsciously waved back, amazed at what he was seeing. "My goodness, Peter… With this, the possibility of creating something is virtually endless."

Peter nodded, then smiled at Harry. "Yup, and that's what you're about to witness. We can even bounce some ideas off each other afterward."

2 hours later…

Felicia was woken up by the continuous water hitting her face and body. She stumbled a bit, holding her head.

"I'm so cold," she muttered as she reached out to turn the shower off. The handle of the shower came off easily, causing a geyser of water to splash her face.

She held out her hand, trying to stop the water, but it wasn't stopping. She reached out from the shower to grab a towel but ended up accidentally ripping the towel rack from the wall.

She looked at her hands in surprise and tried to flick off the towel rack, but it seemed glued to her. "What the hell is going on? My luck couldn't possibly be this bad…"

She got out of the shower carefully, with the water still running, and walked towards the sink mirror.

Reaching over, she carefully started wiping the condensation from the mirror, but as she did, bone claws appeared from all five of her fingers.

"Ow!" she said as blood poured from the five holes in her fingers. Her bone claws ended up scratching the mirror, leaving claw marks.

With the towel rack still in her other hand, she carefully and slowly reached over and turned the sink on, washing the blood from her fingers.

She watched as the blood ran down the drain and as the bone claws slowly retracted back into her fingers.

She watched as the five holes ever so slowly started to close before returning to normal. As they returned to normal, the towel rack unstuck from her fingers, falling to the floor.

Felicia tried to lean over the sink but ultimately ended up breaking it by accident as well, taking a big chunk out.

Felicia was just another incident away from breaking down into tears at all the chaos she was experiencing.

She ever so slightly picked up the shower handle from the ground and carefully did everything to turn it off, which worked and caused her to sigh in relief.

She wrapped herself in a towel before carefully twisting the doorknob and exiting the bathroom.

She walked towards her room, and once inside, she went towards the full-body mirror. When she looked into the mirror, she examined herself in confusion before undoing her towel and examining her body.

The more she looked, the more shocked she became. "Felicia, you went from being as cute as a kitten to a full-on cougar… since when was I this toned? My butt looks big, and my stomach looks so defined," she said as she ran her hand up her stomach.

Felicia then started measuring her chest with her hands. "These definitely developed as well…" As she was examining her chest, she noticed the spider bite mark.

In the corner of her eye, she saw the setting sun hitting the Spider-Man poster. She looked at the poster before looking at the bite mark.

"First of all, now that I know who that is, I have to take it down. It's weird now. And two, WHAT THE F—" She had to stop herself and take a deep breath.

"Why is this happening to me?" Felicia whined, laying back on her bed.

Felicia raised her hand to the ceiling, then looked back at her own hands before glancing at the Spider-Man poster. 'Should I call him? He'll know what to do in this situation,' she thought.

Felicia shook her head. "I need to adjust to this before seeking help. Besides, I'll see him tomorrow, I hope… Not to mention he's injured and exhausted. I wouldn't want to bother him."

She sat up once more and began to fully dry herself before very carefully and delicately putting on clothes to relax.

"How do they do it? It feels like I'm living in a world made entirely out of glass," she muttered to herself, closing and opening her fist while laying in bed.

But as she lay there, sleep started to come to her rather quickly. Her body still needed to rest and recover after having its genetic makeup rewritten.

*******************************************

A/N: Okay so I messed up big time… Felicia is a platinum blond, her silver hair is a wig. So if she becomes night spider that'll be a bit of a problem… I don't know what to do, should I just say she had been a platinum blonde all this time or what?

Also if you guys notice I changed the Cover Fic but I'm not really feeling it, I want one with the 3 of them but I can't find a good one, can y'all comment some please 🙏.
