Because the conditions were suitable, Xu Jingli soon fell asleep. Chen Mumu stared at his handsome face and sighed. He was so complete in every way a person could be complete.

He was handsome. He was rich. He came from a very influential family. Yet, his demons came alive at night. She did not know it was like this, so she felt a pang of pity for him.

She took the water basin out, poured the water, and rushed to her bedroom to bring back a blanket for him. She gently pulled the blanket over him and watched as he got comfortable inside of it.

She then rushed back to her mother's bedroom and brought a small mattress that she used to lie on the floor when she was tired of sleeping in the bed.

She gently moved the table and set the mattress down before lying on it, staring up at Xu Jingli. He needed to be taken care of, and she needed to be closer to him right now. In this way, both of them fell asleep. After some minutes, she too drifted off.
