William Cole remained silent.
Ruth Dawn felt like she was punching into cotton, no matter what she said, Cole now seemed indifferent?
Was he giving up?
"Why didn't you answer my call last night?"
"You didn't come home all night, do you realize how worried I was?"
"William, why are you not speaking?" Ruth stared at William Cole.
Cole shrugged, "Is there any point in me talking?
You don't believe me anyway!"
"How can I believe you if you don't explain...?" Ruth was taken aback, and subconsciously blurted out. It seemed they were back to their previous conflicts, the crisis of trust had returned.
Cole nodded, "Alright! I'll explain."
"If I tell you I didn't intentionally open Thirteen Hall across from Prosper Mercy Hall, would you believe me?"
"No!" Ruth shook her head, frowning.
Cole continued, "What if I tell you Thirteen Hall was given to me by Silas Hayes, and I had no idea before, would you believe me?"
"No!" Ruth shook her head again.
