When they realized that Misty Island was vast and had a decent environment, the Japanese Government was stunned; they never expected a previously insignificant island to undergo such tremendous change. They were eager to take Misty Island back, but awkwardly found that they had sealed their fate with the harsh measures they took initially because of Haruji Harada, cutting off every avenue to reclaim the island. Even if they wanted to retract now, there was no legal support for it. After all, Japan also prided itself on being a nation ruled by law, and weren't quite willing to blatantly violate their own laws. Compared to the shamelessness of The United States of America, Japan now seemed much purer.
