Chapter 64: Messing Up (Additional Update)

Amanda Smith was in a daze as she lay comatose.

In this hazy state, she began to dream.

The dream must have been from a distant memory; she was held tightly in the arms of a young woman she should call "Mother." They were in a car, someone was driving fast, the windows were down, and the wind coming in made her feel cold.

The atmosphere inside the car was incredibly tense. The young woman clutched her tightly, and she could hear the woman's rapid breathing, each breath tugging at her heart.

Many cars were chasing after them.

Her face buried in the woman's embrace, she listened to the other's frantic heartbeat — they were fleeing.

The dream was fragmented, and in the blink of an eye, their car collided with an oncoming truck. It flipped over, and the woman shielded her underneath, her blood dripping onto Amanda's face. She opened her eyes wide, incredulously shouting, "Mom..."

The woman pushed her forcefully, "Run..."
