The arena's atmosphere changed, and the gloominess in the air vanished in an instant.
And the holographic screen reappeared.
"Great job at utilizing mana, Olexia and Jinny." Peach and Illy said.
"So do you two want to have a small break before the next round?" Illy asked with concern.
"Yes." Olexia replied only slightly lightheaded from using mana. "Yes please." Jinny replied, sweaty from all the mana sparks she had to output.
"Alright, we'll give you a small break while spinning the weapon wheel again." Illy added.
"How are you two feeling after the last battle? You are finally starting to put up a sweat?" Peach asked.
"Thinking of that spell was pretty hard on my mind, but other than that I'm fine!" Olexia replied happily.
"Using those spark things..." Jinny took a breath. "Is pretty exhausting..." Jinny replied, with her hands on her knees, looking up at the hologram.
Olexia turned to Jinny. "You alright?" She asked concerned.
"Yeah, I'm just having trouble focusing a bit..." Jinny responded, looking at Olexia.
Even if Jinny didn't know yet, she emptied about two-thirds of her mana in her body, It would seem her mana sparks are pretty low on density so no other sparks helped her with all of those thorns she sent out.
"Take a nice break okay? Your mana doesn't work like how mine does." Olexia said.
"Thank you." Jinny replied.
The two weapon wheels appeared on the holographic screen again.
"I'll spin the weapon wheels again if that's alright." Illy exclaimed.
"Do it.", "Yes, please.", "Yeah, it's fine." Peach, Olexia and Jinny replied, in that order.
"Then I'm spinning them." Illy said and the wheels started spinning.
After half a minute of spinning, the wheels stopped.
"For Olexia, a longhammer and for Jinny a spear." Illy said. "Well, when you're ready we can start the next round." Illy added and the weapons appeared before them.
In front of Olexia a hammer with a long wooden handle, the head of the hammer was made from some dark blue metal, the face of the hammerhead was flat and the claw of the head had two hooks.
Olexia immediately picked the hammer up and just observed it. This, for her, is a way better weapon choice than the scythe that she simply threw aside.
And before Jinny appeared a spear with a long wooden handle, a tip made from the same dark blue metal material as Olexia's hammer. She wondered if she wanted to switch her rapier with the spear for a while.
"Even though I already said this I still want to say that you two did a great job at somewhat learning how mana works." Peach praised Olexia and Jinny.
Olexia was swinging her hammer around, seeing if the hammer would fit her ideas. And Jinny decided to stick with her rapier, she was already feeling pretty confident with it.
"Are you two listening?" Peach said annoyed.
"Mhm? Yeah, of course, Jinny are you ready?" Olexia said.
"Yeah, I think we can keep going now." Jinny responded.
"For once, I try to compliment you two... Let's just roll the dice and see how lucky you get." Peach said. In the background, Illy could be heard slightly giggling.
"Shut up..." Peach added.
"Apologies, then let us roll the dice." Illy said.
The holographic one-hundred-sided dice appeared yet again. After a short roll of the dice, it landed on '80'.
"Oof, an eighty, you'll be fighting an Eldritch Abomination." Peach said. "It shouldn't be too much of a challenge for you two." Peach explained.
"Good luck!" Illy added.
The holographic screen vanished and a few seconds after a ring of eyes simply appeared out of think air, and in the next few seconds one more ring of eyes appeared around it or inside it.
And finally, one giant eyeball was created in the middle of the rings of eyes.
Olexia thought of a genius idea. She outputted a single mana spark just thirty or so centimetres in front of her.
She outputted another spark right at the face of the hammerhead, swinging a few times, the first spark had gained some mass just from the other sparks around it, and the second spark, on the top of the hammerhead, started pulling on the nearing sparks, making them follow it.
And with yet another full spin Olexia clashed the hammerhead with the other mana spark, in the direction of the entity, creating a small shockwave on impact.
The mana took the momentum from the hammer, and the clash between the two high-density mana sparks created even more speed.
The clumps of mana were moving at such a speed, that the only thing that could be soon seen was just a line of mana and nothing else.
The line completely sliced half of the giant eyeball in the middle. But this is no normal monster.
The eye after getting sliced in half, vanished and its place reappeared another ring of eyes.
Jinny saw this happen and immediately started utilising her rapier and mana, and started shooting small needles at the ring of eyes.
And with every eye that was pierced by the needles, just more and more eyes were appearing.
Although the creature itself didn't fight back yet, it seemed purely immortal.
There must be some kind of trick that Olexia and Jinny weren't seeing.
How would such a creature even die? It shouldn't be living in the first place, an amalgamation of eyes, rings upon rings that interlinked and combined.
The creature now looked like one giant eyeball, solely formed out of rings of eyes.
The eyeball made this sound that sounded like thunder being unfolded on itself as if that would make sense.
It was too loud to hear anything or focus on anything. And while the creature itself looked disgusting, something about how it looked made it extremely hard to look away from.
Olexia and Jinny holding their hands up to their ears, trying to block the sound that was coming from the eyeball had not a clue of what to do.
A seemingly immortal monster, that made it impossible to hear and think. It was unbeatable.
