In the morning, Andrew visited Gray Entertainment to inquire about the crew's latest developments from Kelly Gray. However, she was absent, accompanying Congressman Erica and Chairman Julia on a trip to Washington.
Unable to reach Kelly, Andrew then contacted Ella to explain the situation before heading to Benjamin Galvin's office. Benjamin was occupied with preparing a budget for a new play when Andrew arrived. He questioned Andrew's sudden return, to which Andrew handed over a newspaper with urgent news.
The newspaper reported that Adam Smith had been arrested by the DEA for possession of stolen goods, although he was just an innocent bystander. Benjamin, who had worked with Adam before, quickly confirmed the news and lamented that he had been considering Adam for a leading role due to his affordability.
Andrew, however, dismissed the idea of casting Adam and questioned his qualifications, mentioning his connection to a gigolo club. Benjamin realized that Martin might be a better choice and asked Andrew to arrange a meeting with him.
Andrew agreed and set up a coffee appointment with Martin for later that day. When they met, Martin expressed his gratitude for the previous circus project that had boosted his fame. Benjamin proposed a tailor-made script for Martin, which excited him.
Martin recognized the script and mentioned Kelly's hesitation regarding the project due to its high cost. Benjamin saw an opportunity to involve Martin in the project's promotion and eagerly invited him to join early in making the film a success. Martin enthusiastically agreed.
Martin changed the subject discreetly, saying, "That night, Kelly mentioned the script, and the main hurdle seems to be funding."
Curious about the financial requirements, Martin asked Benjamin, "Director, how much funding do you need?"
Benjamin paused for a moment before replying, "We need at least $1 million."
Martin immediately suggested, "Could you potentially secure additional investments?"
Unfortunately, Benjamin shook his head, explaining, "I've been collaborating with Gray Company, and Atlanta's film industry is still budding, making it challenging to find investors."
Considering the situation, Martin decided, "I'll talk to Kelly about it when she returns from Washington. In the meantime, you should consult with professionals." After Benjamin left, Martin contacted Louise Meyer, who was about to leave Atlanta after an event with Kate Winslet.
Louise inquired with a hint of mischief, "Are you joining us? This is your last chance."
Martin replied with a grin, "I'm a gentleman. Kate just got married last month. A fine fellow like me wouldn't intrude on someone else's marriage."
Before heading to the airport, Martin bought a crystal Atlanta peach from a souvenir shop, a nod to Atlanta's nickname as Peach City.
Understanding the importance of connections, Martin remembered that Kate Winslet had recently married Sam Mendes, an Oscar-winning director. He waited at the international airport for Kate and Louise.
In the VIP room, Kate expressed her gratitude for Martin's gift, a beautiful artificial crystal peach with an inscription that read, "To my beloved Rose DeWitt. Signed Martin Davis."
Kate confided that while she publicly pursued artistic achievement, "Titanic" remained a deeply satisfying accomplishment in her heart. She warmly invited Martin to her home in London.
Martin playfully responded, "If you don't entertain me, I might just knock on your door."
Afterwards, Kate boarded her flight, leaving Atlanta. Louise didn't return to the film set and invited Martin to her hotel suite.
Louise, now in stockings after kicking off her high heels, poured two glasses of wine and took a sip before Martin joined her. She mentioned her plan to widely promote the penicillin formula, possibly calling it "Louise and Martin's Penicillin."
Martin suggested, "It might be more fitting to name it 'Louise's Penicillin,' since it heals the soul of Louise, a connoisseur of spirits."
Knowing that cocktails based on other alcoholic drinks couldn't be patented, Louise shared her intention to collaborate with Martin, saying, "You have grand plans."
Martin had a request, asking about the script Kelly had mentioned, "Zombie Striper."
Louise clinked glasses with Martin and discussed the challenges of profitability in the film industry, even citing the example of MGM's failed investment in "Cutthroat Island."
Pouring another round of wine, she emphasized, "But for you, there are many benefits."
Martin pretended to be attentive as Louise touched his face gently and reminded him of her promise to offer advice and assistance.
Then, out of the blue, she questioned, "Are you truly prepared for this industry? It's ten times, even a hundred times more chaotic than the darkest, meanest, and filthiest portrayals in the media. It ranks just below New York's financial circle and Washington's political circle in terms of chaos!"
