Bian was far, far away from home. He was on a planet called Sinoda, The Qi family lived here and the planet houses some of the best Martial Halls in the alliance. He went to the public teleporter, followed through with protocol and made his way to the sanctuaries.
With a swoosh, Bian found himself on the teleporter inside moment shelter. He felt the effects of the teleportation more clearly as though his senses had been heightened.
"Whoa" Bian caught the silver fox which jumped into his embrace. He pet the shivering creature and gave it a pet pill, which caused it to stretch in delight and conveniently go to sleep.
"Why is it so cold in here anyway" Bian looked around the shelter, nothing but metal, the spirit statue and.. two people.
Man Tian and Han Yan stood a little bit off with serious looks on their faces, there seemed to be a palpable tension between them which quite literally chilled the room.
"What's up with the serious faces, somebody died" Bian joked to lighten the mood, the lack of response signified a terrible failure.
"Tough crowd. Uhm I asked us to gather here.."
"To talk about the issues we both need your help with." Han Yan said, her face ever so stoic.
"Yes that, glad we're on the same page. So I was thinking maybe we should help Man Tian first then go to the jungle for the fruits since they aren't matured yet."
"They might mature while we are gone, after all we don't know how long they'll take to mature neither do we know how long we would be gone."
"Oh, then maybe we should move to the jungle and clear out the super creatures there, then we can.."
"That wont work" Man Tian spoke up, "Whatever is causing the deaths is about to move on, the jungle and the desert are too far apart to make it to both."
"Oh, then we should.. uhm...we should.."
"We should do what, compromise?" Han Yan raised a brow.
"We are going to different places Bian, you can't be in two places at the same time. You have to choose who to follow." Man Tian said, he looked at his finger guard as though another change had occurred.
"You can't seriously be asking me to choose" Bian looked towards Han Yan, expecting her to say something, anything. Yet she stood there, waiting for him to make a decision.
'I've known Man Tian since we were kids, I didn't befriend him because I expected he had some amazing destiny or something, I only did so because he was so real, so straightforward.
But I've also known Han Yan for almost five years, we haven't spent a lot time together but these feelings. They aren't fake, they are genuine.
I don't know who to choose'
"I need some time to think" Bian said, while walking away.
Man Tian reached out and grabbed him by his wrist with force, the finger guard dug into his skin lightly.
Bian looked into his eyes, he wasn't angry or even disappointed, he was just sad. For some reason that made Bian feel uncomfortable.
"You should follow Han Yan, I would be faster by myself" He said before letting go. As he turned around to leave, Bian stopped him before he could go.
"You should take the golden growler, it would make your journey even faster." Bian transferred the golden growler to him, seeing as how Han Yan had the crystal boat, he would need the growler to reach the black desert fast.
Plus they all knew how much the golden growler meant to him, maybe this would make Man Tian feel better, maybe he would say something. These were the thoughts Bian had in his head. Man Tian said a raspy thanks and left without looking back.
Not feeling good about that, he looked at Han Yan who remained ever so silent. Come to think of it, he didn't even know much about her. Man Tian was a straightforward guy but Han Yan always had this mask on.
'Have I even seen her true face' Bian began to wonder.
"You should take the angel, she should help against those flying creatures." Bian said while admiring the cold metal floor of the shelter.
"You're not coming" Han Yan asked yet he could hear no expectation from her voice.
"You already have an answer don't you? I need to clear my head" Bian went to seat beside the silver fox, leaving her side after he sent her the holy angel and heck even the pet possession beast soul while he was at it.
Right now he just wanted to be alone, to understand his feelings. He was angry, angry that they both needed help at the same time. Angry that his friends made him choose between them. Most of all, he was angry at himself for his indecision.
"At least I gave them my most prized possession, that shows I care, right silver. Who would you have chosen"
The silver fox looked at him then tilted its head in confusion, as if he was asking an obsolete question.
"Yeah, being a fox must be nice. You don't have to deal with all this shit." Bian got up and decided to kill something to take his mind off things.
Man Tian had given him the location of where he believed there to be super creatures around the area. Bian was going to two of those locations ,while the other two were on the other side of the shelter.
"I don't have the Golden growler anymore. I still have a first sanctuary super mount, the jade six legged rhino but its effectiveness isn't worth it." Without a proper mount Bian had to revert back to more primal means of travel, he walked there.
Over the course of two days, he thought of several ways he could have made things better. He was filled with bitter regret and didn't know what to say when his friends came back.
"This is so frustrating!" Bian groaned, he spotted a single withered tree among the desolate land. A red viper was asleep in the hole within the tree, judging by its lifeforce, it was a mere berserk sacred-blood creature.
Bian gathered explosive yang energy within his fist distorting the space around it. He jumped to the skies and swung at the tree from above blowing it into oblivion. The red-viper managed to survive but was stomped under his foot when he landed.
With more hateful stomps than necessary the brains of the viper was scattered about. The second location was not too far from where he currently was so Bian decided to run there.
"That didn't feel too bad! When did I get strong enough to casually obliterate sacred-blood creatures like insects" A maniacal laughter escaped from his lips.
With his movement techniques and high fitness, he covered a great distance in under 10 minutes. His legs never stopped moving as he was scanning the area looking for any creature worth his attention.
He heard the crackling of thunder and spotted a thunder storm in the distance. Sprinting towards the storm as fast as he could, he covered the distance in a little bit over a minute.
'Back in the first sanctuary, it would take me a day to breach a gap so far off into the distance.'
He simulated the energy flow of the white tiger he had encountered when travelling with queen, causing mighty winds to rotate around his body as though a helicopter hovered over him.
The debris and particles on the ground were flung about helplessly as he threw a punch at the thunderstorm, causing a powerful gust of wind to cleave it apart. Within the clearing he saw a green bird with six wings, green lightning crackling around it.
Bian jumped into the air grabbing the thunderbird in a choke hold faster than it could react. Using ghosthaunt to position his body, he squeezed the life out of the bird with anger and frustration.
Green lightning fell on him several times, but his position prevented a direct attack from the thunderbird, The remnant lightning around the creature failed to get past the defenses of jadeskin. The thunderbird flew about in a frenzy before, Bian gave it a final squeeze snuffing out it's life.
The body of the thunderbird fell to the ground, Bian took out the life geno essence and perfected his landing. The beast landing behind him stirring up a lot of debris.
The beast soul of the six-winged thunderbird was for flying which was quite useless as Bian was plenty fast just by using his feet.
"This is amazing" Bian said while sprinting back towards the shelter. Not a bead of sweat had formed on his face, he felt capable of operating at peak performance forever.
The longevity phase of heresy mantra presented a solution to a problem that had not even fully manifested. The excessive use of yin and yang drained more energy than expected, luckily longevity provided him with a seemingly infinite amount of energy.
In under three hours he sprinted back to the shelter at full speed, the same distance or even greater than what he covered in two days while walking. The shelter was as empty as he left it, with only the silver fox relaxing.
"I wonder if zero would like it here" Bian came beside the silver fox and brought out the life essence of the thunder bird.
Watching the silver fox jump for joy brought a smile to his face. He sat down beside it as it gobbled up the life essence. Its silver fur was suffused with a soft glow which seemed to get brighter by the second.
With a swirl of light, the silver fox was encased in an eggshell.
"It's about to evolve!" Bian was pleasantly surprised. He still had two more locations to check out but he couldn't leave the silver fox behind defenseless, he also couldn't take it without compromising it's safety.
Well the shelter would be the safest place for it actually, they had cleared out every dangerous creature around the area.
Bian summoned the only spirit he had, the fencing spirit. A man garbed in all white holding a fencing pole appeared in front of him.
Pointing at the egg, Bian said, "Protect that egg with your life, I will be back soon"
Fencing spirit bowed on one knee, "I will not fail you"
Bian"...thanks, I expect you to do a good job. Also don't attack my friends if they come back." Bian gave a description of Man Tian and Han Yan whom he already knew. Of course he wasn't concerned about their safety but for his spirit.
He awkwardly patted the shoulder of the spirit before sprinting away from the shelter at full speed, heading towards the other two locations in hunt for super creatures.
"This is more like it, In the sanctuaries I alone am the honored one. No, in this universe who can stand against me!"
Bian remembered the joy he first experienced when he found out he was in the world of super gene, with his knowledge and the supergene itself, his path to ultimate strength was already set.
I sometimes wonder how it would feel to wake up in another world with a power system. Would I truly enjoy it or be shackled by my past self... who knows
