The devils of the sea part 1

Bian and Han Yan consumed the life geno essences during their journey, finishing them just as the golden growler reached their next stop.

"It does seem incredibly fast," Han Yan remarked, clearly amazed by the speed of the berserk golden growler. Their journey, which would have taken months by conventional means, had been reduced to mere hours. The ride from Glory Shelter to Steel Armor Shelter, which typically took skilled veterans two weeks, had been completed in just under ten minutes.

Bian merely shrugged in response to her comment. He understood the power of the super gene but hadn't yet fully comprehended it. Explaining it to Han Yan now would be challenging, so he chose to remain silent.

As night fell, they noticed nothing unusual happening in the barren groove between Steel Armor Shelter and Glory Shelter. It left Bian wondering whether nightfall or the full moon might trigger something, but the landscape remained desolate.

Undeterred, they proceeded to the next destination. The golden growler navigated the dark waters of the ocean effortlessly, its eyes emitting a golden glow that pierced the darkness, striking fear into anyone who witnessed it.

"This is the perfect time. The Nings discovered at least seven super creatures in this part of the sea," Bian recalled. In the distance, they spotted a glowing entity—a squid-like creature with eyes running down its sides. It stood out prominently against the shrouded backdrop of the ocean.

As the golden growler approached, the creature shrieked and launched projectiles from its tentacles, but they were like tiny grains of rice in comparison to the massive lion. With a furious roar, the golden growler smashed the creature into oblivion, causing the waters to tremble from its immense strength.

Han Yan summoned the Holy Angel, which quickly retrieved the glowing life essence and placed it in the sackcloth. Countless fish swarmed the area where the White-eye sea devil had met its demise, including some sacred-blood fish. Bian, who could see relatively well in the dark, noticed them clearly.

"Let's wait for daybreak," Bian suggested, and Han Yan agreed. They reclined on the golden growler, with Han Yan consuming the life essence of the White-eye sea devil. While they could somewhat see in the dark, it was not convenient for them.

As day broke, they continued their journey through the sea. While the White-eye sea devil had been easy to spot due to its glow, the other sea devils in the area would not be as conspicuous in their territory.

As they moved, a creature the size of an island emerged from the depths. It was a whale-like creature with arms and razor-sharp teeth.

Bian, Han Yan, the Holy Angel, and the minotaur engaged the armed whale together. The minotaur delivered a powerful blow, sending the whale airborne. Han Yan and the Holy Angel severed its arms while Bian struck from above, driving the berserk super dagger into the whale's jaw. All of this occurred in a split second.

The whale created a massive splash as it plummeted into the water. It attempted to swim away, but Han Yan and the Holy Angel sliced at its neck from opposite sides. The minotaur then delivered a powerful uppercut, severing its head from its body and securing the kill.

Similar to the previous sea creature, a multitude of fish flocked to the blood-soaked sea, thriving in the crimson waters. Bian retrieved the life essence and returned to the golden growler, while Han Yan came back with the Holy Angel at her side, and the minotaur followed suit.

The life essence of the whale was massive, almost the size of a human being. They placed it in the sackcloth and were about to continue when Bian spotted an odd movement among the fish.

A large worm emerged from the bloodied water and swiftly swam away into the depths of the ocean, disappearing from view. As they resumed their journey, they noticed a shadow in the distance. Upon closer inspection, they recognized it as a boat.

The name "Coalition Pusan" emblazoned on the side of the boat quickly became a distant memory as a colossal tentacle swooped up from behind and violently submerged the ship. It was a moment of sheer chaos as the vessel was devoured by the depths.

With a roar, the golden growler accelerated toward the scene. Amid the turmoil, they observed some people frantically swimming away from the sinking ship. But then, from the inky abyss below, an enormous creature emerged. It was a creature of nightmares, half the size of the golden growler itself.

This colossal entity was a monstrous octopus, its eyes gleaming with malevolent intent. The golden growler surged forward, severing two of the creature's many tentacles. But the tentacles regenerated quickly, and the battle commenced in earnest.

Bian, Han Yan, the Holy Angel, and the Tyrant Minotaur engaged the gigantic sea beast. Its agility in the water was unparalleled, and any harm inflicted upon it was swiftly healed.

The battle seemed to reach a standstill, with the octopus mostly on the defensive. Bian recognized that they needed a finishing strike. He rushed toward the massive octopus once more, the minotaur leaping toward him. With a powerful boost from Bian, the minotaur flew toward the octopus.

What happened next was truly astonishing, seemingly defying the laws of physics. The minotaur, using its incredible brute strength, grabbed one of the octopus's massive tentacles and began to spin it in mid-air. It spun the octopus with incredible force until, at last, it released its grip, sending the kraken hurtling through the air.

In a dramatic leap, the golden growler soared upward, snapping the kraken in half as it descended. Simultaneously, Han Yan and the Holy Angel flew toward the descending head of the kraken, swords at the ready. They flew out from the back of the head looking like bloodied valkyries.

The onlookers, could only watch in astonishment, they bore witness to a group of four humans and one lion defeating the ancient kraken.

Bian and Holy Angel saved the people in the water and took them aboard the golden lion.

"Thank you so much for saving us, I am Ning Cheng." Ning Cheng looked at Bian and the Holy Angel. Bian wore his armor while the Holy Angel just looked human but actually wasn't. He couldn't figure out their real identities.

Han Yan and the Minotaur went into the ocean and a second kraken appeared. They rode on this kraken. 

The passengers who were about to be frightened saw their heroes on top of the kraken and realized they must have obtained the beast soul. Luckily the Octopus survived having its head pierced for a few seconds and only died when it fell into the water, No one saw it dissolving and guessed it wasn't just a strong sacred-blood creature.

"How about the flesh of the kraken?" Ning Cheng asked suspiciously. The Nings knew that the kraken might have been the most ferocious beast in the water, even above sacred-blood beasts and yet they seemed to kill it effortlessly.

"Where did you come from?" Bian asked Ning Cheng ignoring his previous question.

"We're from port utopia, a shelter floating in the ocean separated from other shelters. When people spawn there, they often travel to live in other shelters." Ning Cheng explained.

Bian thought for a bit and asked if they would return to port utopia or go to land. They decided to have a brief conversation about it.

Bian flew over to Han Yan, the life essence of the kraken was the same size as that of the armed whale. He unsummoned the minotaur and gave Han Yan a sacred-blood crystal ant armor. With her identity hidden, they returned to the golden growler.

"We were travelling to land when this incident occurred, normally the kraken doesn't venture in these parts of the water because of the other sea devils." Ning Cheng said. He noticed the absence of a member and intended on befriending them. After all they had just slain a creature the Nings have failed to kill multiple times even with recent evolvers.

"Seven devils of the sea?" Bian inquired about these seven devils. 

The golden growler moved to land slowly as Ning Cheng explained the situation of port utopia.
