It was the demonic bees, They were extremely small and very quick making them barely noticable and they also used dark mana to cover their presence making them nearly completely invisible.

I made 3 bees follow the men, These bees also had another ability and that was [Self detonate] which they did by absorbing mana from their targets and converting it into an explosion.
