The monster's smirk reflected in the rearview mirror as he violently swerved the car again, throwing me back into the seat with brute force.
Questions raced through my mind amidst the chaos. If he was driving, where was Mr. Adams? Was he safe? And Isabel—was she still at school, out of harm's reach? I desperately hoped she was alright.
"What are you doing?" I screamed, my heart pounding with fear. "Let me go!" I shrieked.
My eyes darted to the car door, my only escape. I didn't care if I got hurt jumping out; I just needed to get away from this monster. My fingers scrambled for the door lock, but it wouldn't budge. I continued my frantic attempts in vain.
"Hey, you brat! What do you think you are doing?" he growled, reaching out with one hand to pull me back into the seat while the other hand gripped the steering wheel tightly.
"Leave me alone! Let me go!" I cried out, pushing his hand away forcefully. He hissed villainously in response.
