Jade still appeared fragile and delicate as she spoke, "Howard is my benefactor. He has bestowed upon me a great favor and given me a fresh start in life. I could never betray him."

She lifted her head and met my gaze. "I understand that you hold me accountable for being here today and tarnishing Howard's image. However, I firmly believe that Howard's character has spoken for itself through his actions. He was a man of integrity and bravery. It would be unjust to judge him behind his back simply because of his insignificant connection with me."
