Chapter 37. JoJo

"Warlord Hancock! I am headquarters Vice admiral Momonga!" A tall marine with a mustache spoke.

"Hahahah foolish men, waiting for us by the calm belt, is it war you're asking for?" A kuja pirate spoke while pointing her sword at vice admiral Momonga.

The kuja pirates snickered.

"Do you see another ship here? Stop wasting my time!." Boa spoke coldly.

"That's the pirate Empress Boa Hancock!" The marines cried out as the heard her talk. Her beauty had captured all fo them.

"You're right, thanks for your cooperation." Momonga spoke. It was obvious that he didn't enjoy speaking with a pirate.

As he was about to turn his ship and leave, Hancock spoke once again.

"Halt! Who said you could come here and waste my time without paying?" Hancock asked.

Her word instantly filled the kuja pirates with vigor.

The marines all got worried.

"Boa Hancock, watch your manners! Your childish demands will not be forgiven." Momonga said angrily.

"Hoho my elder sister will always be forgiven!" Sandersonia snickered.

"No matter what I do, wether it is to slaughter marines or kick puppies, I will always be forgiven, why?"

She asked as she stepped forward.

"Because I'm beautiful." She said.

"Aaaaahhhh!" Both the kuja pirates and the Marines started cheering.

"Stop it you fools!" Momonga shouted.

"Won't you, help me with the loot?" Hancock asked cutely.

"For the Empress!" The marines all shouted as they hurriedly raced to find valuables from their ship.

Hancock found the vice admiral on the ground with a knife in his hand.

"Oh, you cut your hand so that you wouldn't be mesmerized by me, impressive." She commented.

But Momongoa seemed too focused to speak.

He had put his knife through his palm in the last second.

The fleet admiral had warned him to not get into a conflict with the pirate Empress, they were only there to make sure that the Demon Ace pirates hadn't escaped with the kuja pirates.

Yet he almost failed, and almost fell for the Empress's evil ways as he almost got hypnotized.

He silently looked on as his crew as they handed over the valuables to the pirates.

"This will be the cost of annoying me today. Next time I won't spare you." Boa Hancock warned coldly as her ship started sailing again.

"Eh... What's going on, what happened....did we just give... Naniii?!" The marine soldiers started waking up from their trance.

Seing their worry, Momonga calmed them down.

"It wasn't your fault, I almost also fell for her deevilish ways!" He said a she showed his hand that he cut through.

"Ooh how boring, I thought we would get to fight!" A kuja pirate spoke dejectedly.

Boa turned around and entered her cabin again.

There she found that Ace had fallen asleep where she left him.

As she found him, he was sleeping carelessly with a bubble coming out of his nose.

She chuckled how careless he was, with no worries.

The marines were just outside searching for him yet he's here relaxing.

She walked to her bed and laid down beside him and also slept.

She wasn't aware but she had contracted the fatal love disease, all thanks to Ace.

A few weeks later, on an island further from Amazon Lily, one could occasionally feel the ground shake. The natural biome of the island seemed to been destroyed as many trees had fallen over and there were many craters around the island.

"Amazing, you're really strong!" Ace said, impressed by Hancocks strength.

She was waay stronger than a vice admiral, but not quite as strong as a admiral..she could probably fight an admiral, but she wouldn't be able to win.

She didn't speak, they had sparred and fought for three days with rest in between, and she found out that she couldn't even make him sweat while he pushed her to the limits.

"But why didn't you use your stone powers? Ace asked as he saw her panting.

"They don't work on you." She answered

She had other abilities that she used as well, she shot heart shaped bullets made of energy from her finger tips. If she infuses that with Haki it can pack great power.

Although it's main function is to turn the target into stone.

And any bodypart she touches also turn into stone.

Her devil fruit is indeed powerful.

"How does it work, the stoning?" He asked.

She halted. It seemed like she wasn't so sure herself. She had only done it previously without thinking about it.

Ace smiled, letting her think for a while.

His crew were also scattered around, some on Amazon Lily, training with the Kuja warriors. Some on other islands, sparring with each other.

Ace had also trained them.

He had decided that they would stay here for a year before returning to the sea. Hopefully, his crew could grow.

Suddenly, an angry shout was heard from the other side of the island.

Both Ace and Hancock looked at each other.

"Didn't you say that there is no one on this island?" He asked.

"That should be the case. "She answered, slightly annoyed that someone had trespassed on her alone time with Ace.

Soon they heard angry stomps coming this way.

"Which bastards keep making noice and disturbing me! Show yourself so I can slap you!" Soon a 3 meter tall muscular man appeared. He was tan and had a long beard that reached his chest.

"Are you the two bastards that has been making so much noice for the past three days?" His anger made him radiate Haki.

Ace could feel that this guy's is strong. But somehow, he reminded him of Urouge.

"Who are you?" Hancock asked angrily.

"Hmph, I'm just an old man stranded on this island. I've been stuck here for 7 years." He said slightly dejected.

Suddenly it hit him.

"Wait! You are people!!!" Suddenly he realised that this was the first contact he had with other people in 7 years.

"Chahahah, finally, I can escape this island!"

Ace smiled as he sat down and started a fire.

Luckily, he had a dead sea king nearby. He was always ready to eat meat.

"Old man let's eat for the happy occaison" Ace said to the middle aged man.

"I wont turn you down kid." He said a she sat down and waited for the meat to grill.

"So what's your name?" Ace asked.

Hancock saw this and got annoyed so she simply turned around and left.

The man ignored her.

"I'm Jojo. A retired pirate! Who are you kid?"

"I'm Flame Emperor Ace, captain of the Demon Ace pirates." Ace introduced himself.

Turns out the old man used to be fearsome pirate with a bounty of 639,000,000 berries. He used to be the rival of another fearsome pirate called Chinjao.

Jojo was someone way too arrogant for his own good, in the end, he made a decision that cost him dearly. He lost lots of his crewmates in a battle against the Marines.

So he decided to retire.

On his way back, he got lost at sea until he arrived at this island and was stranded.

And during these 7 years he had mellowed down and become quite nice.

They sat down and he told his story and his adventures as a pirate. Ace saw passion and longing in his eyes as he told his stories.

"Wahahahah so you fought Marine Hero Garp? Then you lost an honorable loss!" Ace laughed.

"You know his scar?" Jojo asked as he pointed at his cheek, showing where Garp had a scar.

"Huh?" This caught Ace's attention, does this man intent to say that he gave Garp the scar?

"He didn't get it from me! Chahahahahahaha"

"Wahahhaaa" they laughed.

"Old man, let's fight!" Ace finally said after they ate their fill.
