Talk With Lucy
(Jason's POV)
"How many points do I have?" I asked the Screen
"75"
"Okay." I said, "That's fair."
I clicked on the first battlefield spell, spending 15 points. I then clicked on the Banished Knights spells, spending another 20.
"Hm..." I said, "I don't know about the armor....."
"THE ARMOR IS INCREDIBLY POWERFUL AND EVEN MORE SO IF PAIRED WITH THE GREATSWORD. THAT ISN'T AVAILABLE FOR UNLOCKING YET."
"When can I unlock it?" I asked
"HAVE SEX WITH ERZA SCARLET A FEW MORE TIMES AND YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO UNLOCK IT."
"Hm..." I said, "Fuck it."
I clicked on the armor, unlocking it.
"YOU NOW HAVE 15 POINTS LEFT. I HAVE TO SAY THAT FROM THIS POINT ON, YOU CAN GAIN POINTS FROM WINNING BATTLES. NOW THAT YOU'RE IN WAR."
I nodded, "I see." I said, "That's good to know."
"INDEED IT IS."
I was gonna say something when I heard the door behind me open.
"Jason?" I turned to see Lucy walk in
"Yea?" I said
"Hey..." She said soflty, "Sorry, is the baby asleep?"
I turned to see Erion, laying down and looking up at me. He had a slight frown on his face, as if he were trying to tell me something.
"Nah." I said, "He's chilling. Literally."
Lucy walked up to me and looked at him with a slight smile, "Oh.." She said, "Look at him...."
I crossed my arms, "Yep..." I said, "So, you need something?"
She looked at me, "Y-Yea." She said, "Uhm, Master Makarov wishes to speak with you. He's in the main briefing room."
I nodded, "I see." I said, "So he came up top, eh?"
"Yea." She said softly, "Master Mavis is there too. Everyone's in the main briefing room."
"Okay." I said, "I'll be there shortly. Just gonna feed Erion and put him to sleep."
"Alright." She said, "But uhm...."
I raised an eyebrow, "What is it?" I asked
"Can we talk about something...." She said, "Before we go and have that meeting they want to hold..?"
"Okay." I said, "What is it?"
She looked at me with a sad frown, "I'm sorry." She said softly
"For what?" I asked
"For....I..." She said, "I don't know...."
"Lucy, what's wrong?" I asked her, "You okay?"
She looked at me, "Jason...." She said, "About us....I mean....I don't know what to think about what we are...."
I sighed, "What is there to think about?" I said, "We were in a sexual relationship and now we're not. I mean, neither of us tried to make it anything more than that."
"Yes, but.." She said, "I kinda wanted to....."
I raised an eyebrow, "Oh." I said
She looked down, "Y-Yes..." She said softly, "I did...."
"Okay." I said, "I understand...."
"Then I find out you're having sex with more women..." She said, "And you have a son...."
I looked over at Erion, who was looking up at the ceiling quietly while sucking on his thumb. I have to get him a pacifier.
"Hm.." I said
"Jason." She said, "I know that you probably won't stop having sex with other women but....."
I looked at her, "But what?"
"Can you at least think about their feelings?" She said
She had a sad frown on her face as she looked up at me.
"Lucy." I said, "I do think about their feelings. But the one thing that I respond to is not their feelings, it's their desires. That included you too, don't pretend otherwise. Yes, I initiated our sex relationship questionably but if you or any of the other girls said no, I would've left it at that. I understand that there may have been some bad things to come out of me having sex with women recklessly, but at the very least, it was consensual on both parts..."
She looked down again, "I know..." She said softly
"What's the point you're trying to make here, anyway, Lucy?" I asked
"Jason...." She started
I patted her shoulder, "I care about you, I do." I said, "But if you have feelings for me, I want you to know something, Lucy."
She looked at me, "Yes?"
"I cannot be with just you." I told her
She nodded, "I know." She said softly, "I know that...."
I then let go of her, "And I hate to be an ass, Lucy." I said, "But I don't think now's the time to focus on whether or not you have feelings for someone. We're at war. So I'm gonna need you to focus, okay?"
"Y-You're right..." Lucy said, "I apologize."
I closed my eyes and sighed, "It's fine." I said, "Look, I'm sorry too. But right now, I have a son. A son whose mother is the enemy and she'll stop at nothing to get him back. Not only that, He's a frigging dragon, so I don't think I wanna worry about having a relationship or fixing what our relationship is or could've been."
She smiled sadly, "I know, Jason." She said, "I'm sorry. It must be stressful for you at the moment. But.....uhm...."
I looked at her, "What is it?" I asked
"All that aside." She said, "If it's okay with you...."
"I can babysit him."
