Children Are Weird.

I had read stories in the past of people who got reincarnated and they just cruised along their childhood. But I couldn't understand how they just made friends with other kids. I felt a bit out of place whenever I had to do activities with the rest of the kids but at least I was somewhat popular.

"Do it again! Do it again!" the children chanted as they looked on expectantly.

The children were all on top of a big couch that had been set out on the field. Their eyes shining with expectation as they all grabbed the couch for support.

"Alright, alright. Is everyone ready?" I asked

"Aye, Aye captain!" the children said in unison as they braced themselves.

"I caaan't hear youuuuuu!" I shouted as I raised one of my hands before I felt my body raise off the ground using my psychic powers.

"AYE AYE CAPTI-aaaaaaaaaaaah!"

As the kids began shouting one more time I used my telekinesis to lift up the couch off the ground before flying as fast as I could while remaining close to the ground. In the distance, I could see the concerned expression of the parents, but hey, I had Kadabra next to me to help out in case anything went wrong.

This was both exhausting and exhilarating. I had never really gotten the chance to use my powers so freely, and with Kadabra to support me I was able to go all out without worrying about getting bombarded with information. I couldn't wait until I was able to do this sort of stuff by myself. Plus, I could feel a burst of joy as I heard the shouts of happiness.

To be honest, pokemon camp itself wasn't that interesting for me. They had a bunch of activities where they told stories about pokemon, made art, danced, and played with Pokemon, among other things. The main fun of the camp was the after-hour lessons I got from Oak and Rowan. They were both geniuses in their respective rights.

Rowan had theorized that the training I had done with the musketeers had somehow awakened the Alpha gene laying dormant inside of them. Apparently, Alpha pokemon had mostly vanished from the world with only a few rare sightings in the past few years. There were records that hundreds of years in the past alpha pokemon used to roam the world and lead their own groups. However, with the advancement of technology and the increased relationship between humans and pokemon the Alpha gene became dormant in most pokemon. Humans had, in a way, become the new leaders.

This had opened up an entirely new path in his research about evolution. In his opinion, pokemon evolved in order to become more complete. That is why legendary pokemon are rumored to be incapable of evolution, they are already "Whole". But if the Alpha gene could be awakened in pokemon through specific training it opened up a way for pokemon themselves to become more complete.

As for my lessons with Oak. I suggested the usage of the pokemon Rotom to enhance the pokedex in the future. It would allow the pokedex to become a living being that could process information better. The research in order to adapt the pokedex to be fully compatible with the pokemon would take a long time, but Oak was more than enthusiastic to get started working on it.

The usage of Rotom as an enhancer for the technology had not really been discussed much. Most researchers saw Rotom as a liability as they could be really unpredictable. But Oak saw this as an opportunity. The very first thing he did was contact some of his friends in order to get some Rotoms into his farm.

Aside from that, he was able to learn how Oak invented stuff. Getting a bit of firsthand experience in the lab. The small Bulbasaur that had showcased the pokedex was also always hanging out in the lab. He liked to help out with the research, so I got to spend some time with him. If I was being honest I didn't like Bulbasaurs that much at first. But this little vegetable frog had changed my mind about them.

Time was honestly flying in the pokemon camp. I would sometimes sneak out at night with my musketeers to practice using psionics. I had even learned a few new tricks, I could now teleport small distances, as nauseating as it was.

The time had come for a game where you had to find golden coins hidden throughout the farm, with a grand prize of a unique Pokeball to place your starter for the one who collected the most, designed by Oak's Smeargle.

You already know I wanted to get my hands on it, so I cheated slightly by using my psionics to try to find them. Yet as I got close to one of the forests I could feel someone crying.

Running through the bushes I encountered a small girl I recognized as Serena crying while holding onto her knee. There was a bit of blood as it seemed she had fallen and scraped her knee.

When she saw me gave me Lillipup eyes as tears began to form.

"I hurt my leg…"

Seeing her injury my training with Nurse Joy kicked in as I quickly ran to take a look at the injury.

"Don't worry, I am not a licensed doctor." I said as I quickly took a small handkerchief and cleaned the wound.

"You… are not?" Serena asked in confusion, why would not being a doctor reassure her?

"Nope, it is illegal for someone without a license to openly claim to be one." I said as I made sure the wound wasn't bad. Sometimes, thinking you are hurt makes you feel more pain. So if the person gets distracted with absurd statements they would forget they were hurt at all. Though this strategy mainly worked on children and not adults.

"What?" she asked as a small smile appeared on her face.

"You don't want me to go to jail, do you? I didn't know you hated me" I said while dramatically putting a hand on my chest.

"No- I- I was just-" she stuttered as she got a bit flustered.

I let out a small chuckle before dropping the dramatic posture.

"I'm just messing with you. Here" I said as I used my telekinesis to raise her to let her stand up.

As her feet touched the ground she let out a small wince as a small amount of pain came from her knee. I guess operation distraction = cure was a failure.

"I don't really have bandages with me. But here, I can take you to the cabin. They should have the stuff there for me to treat you. Believe it or not, I have trained directly under the one and only Nurse Joy."

Serena let out a small chuckle. When all Joys looked the same it was just another weird statement. And before she could feel more pain coming from her knee she felt her legs stop touching the ground as she rose into the air.

"Are you ready?" I asked as I prepared to take us back to the cabin. Her answer made me laugh out loud.

"Aye aye, captain"

(Johanna's Pov)

When your son grows up not wanting to even go to school because the other kids make him uncomfortable you worry as a mother. He is so smart for his age so he often can't relate with the other's. In her opinion being born with psionics is both a blessing and a curse.

She was glad to have gotten the call from Rowan about the idea of going to camp. She knew Lucas tried to hide it but he was a bit lonely since he had gotten separated from his musketeers and his teacher. So it filled her with joy to see him running around from one place to another.

"Your kid truly is something else." Oak commented as he drank from his tea while looking at the children playing.

Rowan laughed a bit in agreement.

I couldn't help but smile as I saw all the children let out loud laughs and shouts as her son wore a fake crown and cape while flying in the air. He had declared himself the Lord of the Flies and the other children had played along declaring him their king.

Ever since he had started giving people rides on the "flying couch" he had become a bit of a leader amongst the children. Even with his strange habits he had an innate skill when it came to showmanship. He might not know it himself but I could see how much he enjoyed entertaining people. I couldn't help but see a reflection of myself in him.

Back when I was younger I was revitalized from each event I was in. The screams of excitement from the crowd as I would put on a show with my pokemon. The fame was exhilarating, but all things eventually came to an end. Her spark had faded since she had decided to become a full-time mother. But she could see the spark glowing brightly on her son, and she would do anything to make sure it never faded.

"Oak, Rowan… Do you think… I should send him to Olympia's school?" I asked hesitantly

Any big choices that were related to my son filled me with fear. I couldn't forgive myself if I made the wrong choice and our relationship ended like mine with my parents.

"He is a smart kid, I think the best thing to do will be to ask him for his opinion." Rowan said while drinking his tea.

"You know, Sabrina should be coming to the camp soon as a surprise guest along with Professor Carolina. She is set to become one of the youngest psychic-type gym leaders, and though she is certainly… unique. She agreed to come once I mentioned Lucas was also a psychic. Maybe he can learn a few things from her" Oak said and Rowan nodded.

"The advice I gave Lucas about training his psychic abilities came from Sabrina. And while she is…" Rowan paused before glancing at Oak. "Unique… She is an example of a self-made psychic. I am sure that with two professors supervising her she wouldn't do anything extreme."

Their words only made me more worried than before. But all I could do was wait and see.

I turned back to watch the children play before letting out a sigh.

Lemme know if you have any ideas or suggestions.
