Omake: .... Captain?

(A/N: This idea has been floating through my head a lot recently.

Honestly, if Adam didn't have the Chat Room, I would have gone with this start for him

Because when one door closes…. Another one opens

-Or so they say, anyway

By the way, I am not really sure how to clasify this....I made it as an omake...But it can also be classified as the start of a What IF side story

Then again, this can also be made into an entirely different fan fiction. But to avoid completications, I decided to brand it as an omake)

In the technologically advanced city of Nagazora, where countless businesses and companies set up shop and contributed to the development of this place, there existed a prestigious Academy like no other

In a specific park near Chiba Academy, a person was sitting on a bench

Nothing was particularly truly extraordinary about him. He had shoulder-length blonde hair, blue eyes that were half-closed in a daze, and he had headphones equipped, as if listening to music

Except for his more than average attractive features, perhaps the only difference that one could notice if they were perceptive enough would be his temperament

He was exuding an unusual aura. It was as if he was disconnected from the real world, instead, it seemed that he seemed to regard everything around himself as inconsequential

And naturally, he was our protagonist, Adamian Anatolyevich Adreev

Oh no, he currently goes by the name 'Adam'

And he is a reincarnator, so naturally, it would be quite difficult to get used to a new name- especially so when most of his memories remained intact

Adam had enough time to get used to his new name, however….

Even though he was born in Siberia, that name was still too weird. So he just preferred to be called simply 'Adam'

Of course, that wasn't really his concern….

'After all, in such a world….It is not worth it to get so hung up by such an inconsequential matter'

This world- no, universe- was the honkaiverse…. Or the hoyoverse, as it was otherwise called

To be honest, when Adam first reincarnated in another world, he was naturally ecstatic

But all the hopes of re-doing his life and making better choices were roughly slapped out of him when he realized in which universe he was currently living in

In fact, Adam was very unlucky, he realized. It wasn't really a problem that he reincarnated in the Hoyoverse

…..The true issue lies in the fact that he reincarnated specifically in Honkai Impact 3rd…. In the current era

Perhaps if it was the Previous Era, he could flirt with Mobius and guarantee his survival by becoming a half-honkai beast human just like the Flamechasers

Or hell….. just becoming good friends with Elysia would have done it

…. So yes, he was very unlucky to come to the current era, where there was no easy way to power, especially if you are a man

Even Honkai: Star Rail would have been better.

Sure, there were Aeons who could destroy galaxies, but he could easily embark upon a path and survive without offending any 'bad guys'!

As for Genshin Impact…

Well, Teyvat would probably be the best destination. He isn't lacking in ambition, so obtaining a vision would be easy

There were also a lot of hot girls to choose from, so he wouldn't be lacking in romantic partners either

And of course, most important of all

"I currently live in Nagazora…. A place where the 3rd eruption would occur"

Adam muttered, closing his eyes as he shook his head

Herschers were the incarnation of physical laws. They were the equivalent of natural disasters in this world, and when one being like that awakens, an eruption would take place

From the knowledge he has, Nagazora city would be the place most affected by the 3rd honkai eruption…. Because the 3rd Herrscher awakens here, obviously

Don't get him wrong, Adam is here entirely out of his own choice

In fact, there will be a new semester in Nagazora, and he will be a transfer student there

Why would he do such a suicidal thing?

To put it simply, males in this world were…. Rare

Perhaps Elysia liked cute girls so much so that when she sacrificed herself, this wish took form and made girls more plentiful in the next era?

The blond-haired boy doesn't know

But again… Males were rare- and in Chiba Academy, they were even rarer

This was a prestigious Academy. If you didn't have a wealthy and influential family, you needed to have almost perfect scores to get admitted

Adam was not a genius, but he has the memories of his previous life.

Although the technology of this world is far more advanced- which affects the education curriculum-, he could still attend this Academy with some effort

Of course, it helped that his parents were members of Shicksal…..

Pity…. They were dead, which was a common result when working under that old dog Otto who wears a green hat

As the day turned into night, he decided to take a shower to wash away the fatigue of his journey.

Taking a hot shower always helped him sleep better

As Adam lay down on the comfy bed, he contemplated his life choices

Should he have first gone to Fu Hua and learned her martial arts?

They did improve honkai adaptability, but males were restricted and could only practice it to a certain point

Or perhaps he could get Bianka to use the Abyss flower on him. They were childhood sweethearts, so she would most likely accept

The power of the Abyss flower made Einstein and Tesla biologically immortal, and he doesn't really remember if it improved their honkai adaptability…. But it should have done so, right?

Honestly, Biological Immortality was useless to him. There is a high chance that he will die before that becomes useful, so it is quite meaningless

Oh, there is also the fastest way to power-

Get Theresa's DNA and go to the Mobius of the Elysian Realm for MANTIS surgery

Of course, all of the above options had one problem-

Otto Apocalypse

In his previous life, Adam quite liked Otto.

Sure, he did cause a lot of tragedies, but…. Without him, Kiana would never have become Finality

Otto Apocalypse made all the characters mature. Not only did he help Bianka awaken her Kaslana genes, but also made Kiana control her Herrscher powers with love

And of course, he respected the guy for doing all that evil stuff…. Just for a girl

Don't get him wrong, Otto is a simp. He was cucked by the girl he loves by a shrine maiden long ago

But even through all that, it was still respectable how he made a deal with honkai, contacted the Imaginary Tree, became a false god, and finally split a whole timeline where his beloved lived

And he did all that only with a mortal (soulium) body, and his genius mind

However...

Adam now hates Otto

If it wasn't for the guy who was cucked by a girl, the blond-haired boy would be more carefree

He could easily go to Fu Hua and learn her martial arts. And he could also approach Bianka and Theresa without worrying about Otto hypnotizing him with Fenguang down and learning all his secrets

Adam sighed

He had these thoughts for a long while, and…. Well, he has accepted his current situation

Now, it would be better to stop worrying about meaningless things, and just sleep

Adam's eyes snapped open, dizziness vanished as he awoke from his slumber

Instincts kicked in-

Instantly, his eyes surveyed his surroundings, vigilantism blooming in his heart as he saw the unfamiliar place

Clearly, he slept in the bed of his dormitory, and now he awoke, standing as if he never lay down to sleep

His eyes widened-

The first thing that struck him was the overwhelming sense of timelessness. The air itself felt thick, charged with an eerie, electric green mist that swirled around him.

It's as if he has entered a realm where the boundaries of time are blurred, and every second stretches into eternity.

The ground beneath him is an ever-shifting mosaic of glowing green runes and dark, shadowy sands. The air is filled with the soft hum of ancient, mysterious energy, making the very atmosphere vibrate with power.

The darkness around him was tainted with a faint green color- it stretched for infinity, where no end could be seen

"Ah! Finally, you are awake!"

Adam's eyes shifted to the person who had just spoken- she was standing a few meters in front of him

The blond boy's eyes widened even further, his mouth agape as he saw this person-

"That's great! To be honest, if you had slept for any longer, Luna might think I accidentally hurt you- and then she would definitely kill me!"

The girl in front of him shivered, as if recalling scary memories of the person she mentioned

Her most striking feature was her long, vibrant green hair, tied into twin bun ponytails. These twin buns rest high on her head, secured with delicate, dark green ribbons

Her eyes are of amber, glowing with intensity

Her attire is a blend of futuristic and 'magical' elements. She wears a sleek, dark bodysuit adorned with intricate green patterns that seem to pulse with energy.

Complementing her outfit is an interesting choice for an accessory — a dark choker that has red patterns on it

"Ai Lambda?!"

A name involuntary escaped his lips, his widened eyes stuck to the figure in front of him

"That's right!"

The green-haired girl smiled brightly, hands on her hips as she looked at him with eyes lit up

"I- this-!"

Adam closed his mouth, not letting any more intelligible nonsense leak out of his mouth

"How?"

He just settled on this simple question.

He was utterly befuddled! The person in front of him was Ai Hyperion Λ!

Although he has already come in contact with a few characters he was familiar with in his previous life, this girl was completely different!

She… was the administrator of Honkai Impact 3rd.

At least that is her lore- along with being something like a time crystal who can see the future and the past

Basically, she breaks the 4th wall constantly. And in reality, she shouldn't exist!

"Eh?" Ai blinked her amber eyes "What do you mean, Captain?"

'Captain'

That familiar word echoed in his mind…. It brought nostalgia to Adam

It reminded him of the days in his previous life. Those days in High School where he played Honkai Impact 3rd and heard his Valkyries- cute girls that didn't really exist calling him that

Such nostalgia…. At that time, he was a bit immature.

And to be honest, although the first chapters of the game weren't as great as the later ones…. They still brought him fond memories- memories that the later chapters couldn't quite match

The blond-haired boy took a deep breath, he only had one thing to confirm for his doubts to be solved

He wasn't a hesitant person, when he decided on something, he would definitely execute it to its completion

"Ai Hyperion" Adam started, looking at the girl opposite of him in the eyes "Are you my valkyrie?"

His questioning voice echoed throughout this domain

As for the girl who was asked this question-

"Hah?! Captain, you don't remember!?" An astonished expression flashed on her face "Really? You don't remember that time we fixed the glitched game together!?"

"But that was just a game, wasn't it?"

He voiced back, a bit unsure of himself. Truly, that was indeed a game for him, but now he was in that game

"I-"

Lambda closed her open mouth, hesitation flashing on her face. But in the end, she took a deep breath

"Captain, I am your Valkyrie…. You don't have to doubt that!"

Her face oozing absolute seriousness, she declared with absolute confidence

"..."

Adam was silent for a moment. To be honest, he had many doubts, and he wanted to ask this girl many questions

But-

"Good"

The blonde boy replied simply

He had a big boobed Ai onee-san callling him Captain…. How can he refuse that?

Besides, if Ai Hyperion is his Valkyrie- the one he is familiar with, the one whose affection he had maxed, then his doubts don't really matter

"So, Captain….."

The green-haired time crystal started, sitting next to him

"Call me Adam"

He interrupted her. Now that this is their first real life meeting… It would be preferable for her to refer to him by his name

"So-" Her expression didn't change much "-Captain….."

She repeated, a small smile forming on her lips

The blond boy sighed, and decided to let it go for now

"But I know, I am also confused…."

Adam didn't know better. He had no idea about the current situation

They were sitting next to each other, quite close on a bench that Lambda…. Manifested?

"To be honest, now I am just a normal human" He pursed his lips "I don't have any 'Captain' powers. And of course, I can neither travel to other Bubble universes, nor resurrect myself"

The blonde shook his head, his face showing exasperation…. Yet also acceptance

"I… see" Lambda replied, a rare frown on her face "Ah, but don't worry. Even without those powers, you will still be our captain in our hearts!"

The girl's frown melted instantly, replaced by a dazzling smile as she tried to cheer him.

And she had a hand above her heart, as if to emphasize her point

"I appreciate it…." He smiled at her

True, it felt nice to have someone to cheer him…. Especially considering his situation in reality

Adam's face turned serious "But Lambda, I just have one question"

"Do you want to ask about….?"

"Yes" He nodded "Is the captain-verse…. Real? Like, has every captain-related event I played in Honkai Impact…. occurred in the real world?"

It was weird to think about. Although reincarnating in this world proved that Honkai Impact…. And perhaps other fictional worlds were real, but that didn't necessarily mean that the original source had a connection with the actual world

It was hard to believe that the game in his previous world could actually affect the real verse… Unless there was higher dimensional and lower dimensional bullshit taking place

"Ahaha…." Lambda scratched the back of her head nervously "That is…. difficult to answer"

"It is…. Very complicated" She continued, putting her hand on her forehead and shaking her head "But the short answer is… Yes, everything you have experienced as the Captain has been translated to real-life events"

"....."

Again, Adam remained silent

However, the answer wasn't unexpected

If the captain-verse is actually canon…. Then the captain is just the manifestation of the player in the game

The captain- verse is just a series of in-game events that follow the story of the Captain's adventures- but of course, it is more like the 'players' adventures in this case

And so, the one behind the screen gets to participate in the events of a story…. Though they can't make many choices and have limited freedom, they still participate

Basically, the captain is the player's avatar- one who doesn't really have a freedom of choice

"Mou~, Captain!" Seeing him silent, Ai pouted in frustration "If you don't believe me, I can bring Luna right in front of you!"

Adam's expression froze, a stiff smile emerging on his face

Though seeing a green- haired onee-san pout cutely stirred some feelings within him… What she said wasn't quite as cute

"The vampire yandere?"

Luna kindred was another Captain-verse character

She was…. Theresa, but a vampire

Though…. She was one of Adam's favorites, even if the girl was a bit extreme

"Mhm, that's right!" She nodded, her eyes lightin up again "That is a bit rude to her, but not entirely inaccurate"

"Lambda" His face turned serious "Do the others know that I am a player….? And they are just characters in a game?"

She smiled knowingly- already aware that he was trying to change the subject

"Nope!" A bright smile still on her face, she answered "As the Administrator, I am the only one who knows!"

She put her hands on her hips-

To be honest, she had a 'praise me' expression-

"Ah, but Captain" Her eyes turned serious "Don't treat them as characters in a game, okay?"

"..."

Adam raised an eyebrow at her

Of course, he knew not to do that. He has already met the idiot goose, so he already treats them as real people

"Honkai Impact 3rd is a game that was made possible only because of what I am" Her amber eyes turned away from him, looking around the domain- her domain

"As a time crystal, time is linear to me" Ai Hyperion continued, her tone was of… dejection?

"I view the world like a game- as though everything has already happened, and I am just playing through it"

She smiled sadly "And of course…. I made every struggle, every victory, and every loss of theirs… into an actual game"

"Was it to record their- the main characters'- story….?" She asked, more to herself than anyone else "Honestly, I am not even sure"

She shook her head, as if trying to banish those negative emotions of hers

"....."

Adam put a hand on her shoulder, saying nothing at all

To be honest, he wasn't that good with women…. But he still had basic knowledge

And now, seeing Lambda so sad…. Yes, it was weird seeing the normally cheerful and bubbly Ai he was familiar with being so dejected and depressed

And he did understand that she didn't need reassurance…. She just needed someone who understood her to listen to her

The blonde could actually do nothing more than offer her his silent support

"Ah! But that's why I like you, Captain!"

She suddenly turned to him, her previous bright smile back on her face. But it seemed, somehow even brighter? Or more genuine? He couldn't tell

How did this girl change her expression so quickly?

"You come from a higher dimension…." Her amber eyes stared at him with high intensity "You can understand me, as you previously had a similar perspective to mine!"

"Of course, you now live in this world…. And your perspective might have changed, but you can still understand me…" Lambda continued, her voice lowering in volume at the end, and her amber eyes burning with even more intensity

To be honest-

Adam was bewildered at how this Ai was acting now…. But he didn't care

Her current situation reminded him of another game character- Monika from Doki Doki literature club….

But Ai was more…. Sane, and not obsessive. She wasn't in a game, and she just made her experiences into a game

But-

She was his Valkyrie….. And now, she was indeed the only person who knows about his secret- and about how he viewed the world

"Lambda….." Blue eyes stared at her amber ones, he did not shy away from her intense gaze

"I don't really know what brought this on…." He smiled softly "But I think you need a hug"

"Wha-!"

Ai Hyperion didn't have a chance to voice out her doubts as she was suddenly pulled towards him

The blonde wrapped his arms around her waist, bringing her into a tight hug

"Ah….."

Was this…. Shyness he was detecting from her exclamation?

"....."

He felt slender arms wrapping tightly around his neck, a head resting on his shoulder

Green hair obstructed his view. The blonde felt his nose getting itchy from her hair

'She does smell good though….'

Adam thought silently in his heart

He didn't know what exactly Ai Hyperion was….. But never did he expect a time crystal to smell so good- actually, he didn't expect her to smell like anything at all

Ah, but strangely…. The blonde felt comfort. It was a weird sensation.

Despite being the one taking the initiative to embrace her, Adam felt…. safe.

But then again, now that he has his overpowered Valkyries…. Perhaps he can survive in this dangerous world?

I really enjoyed writing this

But honestly, if this were to be a full-fledged fanfiction…. Well, this chapter was a bit cringe, and I imagine that this would be a common occurrence

By the way, Luna Kindred can bite him and transform him….. And from what I know, the vampire has a mutated Vishnu gene that is more vampiric in nature

So technically, if she could share this gene with him…. Maybe our this Adam will have the same start as the other Adam? It will just be more normal, and he will have to grow in power slowly

Though that is just the thing- anything that he could do- Luna can already do. So I don't see him getting stronger than her anytime soon

Also, this omake wasn't as polished as I would like. And I feel as though the MC's relationship with Lambda was a bit…. Too fast and rushed

But this is also a problem that would be faced because his relationship with the Valkyries as the 'Captain' is already developed, so further development in that regard will be really difficult

Of course, that applies only to characters of the Captain-verse. Storyline characters like Kiana, Mei, Bronya, and the like are excluded from this
