Chapter 191: Ancient One: I'm Doomed, I Told You So

"Thor, really, I don't even want to talk about you anymore. How many times are you going to trip over Loki?" At this point, Tony Stark couldn't help but speak up again, "Time after time, even a pig would learn from its mistakes. You're truly dumber than a pig."

"Tin Man, finally, there's something we agree on," Loki chuckled, "Thor, listen to this, your friends are talking about you. I have to admit, they're absolutely right."

"Loki, even at that moment, you were thinking of capturing me for a reward?" Thor asked Loki, "Do you love money that much?"

"No, I consider money to be dung," Loki said, "I just enjoy watching you fail, seeing you get beaten. It brings me immense joy."

"I don't think I can trust you anymore, Thor." Steve Rogers also chimed in, "Loki holds too much importance in your heart, and I'm genuinely concerned that one day you'll do something bad for Loki."

"Soldier, perhaps you should try trusting me," Loki pointed a finger at Steve Rogers, a charming smile on his face, "You're too straightforward, inflexible. As for me, I'm the master of adaptability. You see, we complement each other perfectly. We're practically a match made in heaven."

"Loki, do you have no emotions at all?" Thor sighed, "I'm your brother, and you've betrayed me time and time again. Don't you feel guilty?"

"Do you have no emotions at all?" Almost as soon as Thor asked this question, the Thor in the video asked the same question. Perhaps after being deceived by Loki so many times, he had become accustomed to it and seemed incredibly indifferent.

"Emotions are fleeting," Loki smiled.

"I agree," Thor picked up a remote control and waved it.

Loki's expression instantly changed when he saw the remote control. He quickly checked his body but didn't find anything. However, there was a small disc on his back.

Thor pressed a button on the remote, and Loki convulsed and fell to the ground.

"It looks quite painful," Thor walked over with large strides, towering over Loki who lay on the ground convulsing, "Dear brother, you're becoming easier and easier to read. I trust you, and you betray me, a cycle that repeats time and time again."

Thor squatted down, beside Loki, and delivered a heartfelt declaration, "Loki, life is about growth, about change. Yet you seem unchangeable by nature. What I want to tell you is, although you're the god of mischief, your abilities extend far beyond that."

Thor tossed the remote control aside with a shaky hand, "Anyway, let each follow their destiny. Good luck to you."

Then, Thor piloted the Commodore ship into the air by himself.

"Sakaar's people, the formidable Thor has taken my ship and my champion." In the skies of Sakaar, an immensely colossal figure of the Grandmaster appeared, his voice echoing throughout Sakaar, "Sakaar's people, ascend to the heavens and bring him down to me. Don't let him escape from this planet."

Zoom! Zoom! Zoom!

Instantly, a ship chased after Thor, unleashing a barrage of firepower.

Thor's piloting skills were quite impressive. Dodging left and right within the dense barrage, he danced through the storm of attacks unscathed.

Zoom! Zoom! Zoom!

Another ship flew over, not aiming at Thor but at the ship pursuing him. In just a few moments, it blew up the pursuing ship.

As it turned out, the ship was being piloted by the Valkyrie, who said to Thor, "Open the hatch."

"Sure." Thor pressed a button, and the hatch of the Commodore ship opened.

"I hope you're stronger than you look." Valkyrie flew her ship underneath the Commodore, speaking to Bruce Banner who was sitting beside her.

"What?" Bruce Banner didn't understand Valkyrie's meaning.

For some reason, Valkyrie pressed a button, and Bruce Banner was catapulted into the sky, flying through the open hatch of the Commodore ship from underneath.

Zoom! Zoom! Zoom!

Just as Valkyrie was about to leap onto the ship, Topaz piloted a ship that flew over, launching a fierce attack.

"Shouldn't we do something about this?" Bruce Banner staggered to his feet and shouted loudly.

"We should," Thor was about to retaliate, but as he looked left and right, he couldn't find the weapons, so he asked, "Where are the weapons on this ship?"

"No weapons!"  Valkyrie's voice echoed,  "It's a sightseeing ship! The Grandmaster only uses that ship for celebrations and parties."

"Hahaha!" Loki couldn't help but burst into laughter at this point,  "Thor, oh Thor, you went to great lengths to steal a ship, and it turns out to be a sightseeing ship with no weapons!"

"Do you want me to remind you who chose this ship?" Thor replied, unimpressed.

"Sorry," Loki shrugged,  "My bad. Even though I'm not on that ship, I really sweated for you. I prayed for you, hoping that this unarmed sightseeing ship could escape unscathed."

"Loki, are you saying all this just to mock Thor, or are you really that foolish?" Tony Stark was on the verge of laughing,  "This question is about how Thor escaped from Sakaar. The question clearly states that Thor left Sakaar. So, forget about it being a sightseeing ship, even if it were a paper boat, Thor could still escape."

"Instead of worrying about Thor, maybe you should worry about yourself," Bruce Banner reminded,  "Someone's lying on the ground being electrocuted, and Thor threw away the remote control. I have no idea how he's going to get rid of that thing."

"Worry about myself?" Stephen Strange chimed in,  "There's no way to get rid of it. Thor has been shocked so many times before and couldn't shake it off. He only managed to get rid of it by stealing the remote control from the Valkyrie. As for Loki, he's practically paralyzed. It's doubtful he managed to get the remote control."

"But it's alright, Loki is a god after all. He's in good shape. He survived getting smashed by the Hulk and a couple of electric shocks won't faze him," Tony Stark continued to playfully dig at the situation, showcasing his thirty years of professional "wound-picking" skills.

As the group exchanged these remarks, Valkyrie's ship was already blown up by Topaz.

"No!"

"No!"

Bruce Banner and Thor shouted simultaneously. But in the next moment, a figure leaped down from the sky, clinging to the Commodore ship. Who else but Valkyrie?

"Quick, get inside," Thor told Valkyrie, who was clinging to the outside.

"Wait a moment," Valkyrie didn't immediately comply. Instead, she climbed onto the back of the Commodore ship. Running a few steps, she leaped off and landed on another pursuing ship.

Her sword swept across the ship's surface, slicing through it effortlessly. Just like cutting tofu, she carved a large opening in the back of the ship. A plume of black smoke erupted, and the ship was done for.

Bruce Banner and Thor watched this scene unfold. Thor couldn't sit still any longer. He turned to Bruce Banner and said,  "I need to help her. You fly the ship."

"No, I have no idea how to operate this thing," Bruce Banner panicked upon hearing this.

"You're a scientist," Thor pushed Bruce Banner into the pilot's seat without hesitation. Then he turned and walked away,  "Use your PhD for something useful."

"My PhD has nothing to do with piloting alien spacecraft, Thor!" Bruce Banner shouted loudly.

But Thor was already gone, not looking back.

Thor was even more ruthless than Valkyrie. While Valkyrie used a sword, Thor employed every method at his disposal. After landing on a ship, he reached up and tore off the gun turret as if he were ripping a chicken leg. He effortlessly tore the turret off the ship with his bare hands.

Now, the Commodore ship had "weapons," and they were two highly maneuverable "weapons": Thor and Valkyrie.

Thor and Valkyrie continued their ship-dismantling spree, leaping from one ship to another and dismantling them.

The ships zoomed and fired at them, creating a lively scene, but they couldn't harm Thor and Valkyrie in the slightest. Instead, ship after ship was obliterated by the two.

The way they were fighting fired up the participants in the answer space. Scott Lang couldn't help but say,  "These gods are truly powerful. Ships are being taken down so easily."

"Is this really considered a ship, just a small one?" Phil Coulson chuckled,  "You haven't seen how Carol obliterated ships in the past. Well, to be honest, I haven't seen it with my own eyes, but those ships were at least several hundred meters long."

"Several hundred meters long?" Nick Fury shook his head,  "Coulson, I haven't corrected you all this time, but those ships weren't just several hundred meters, they were at least a kilometer long."

"Sir, a kilometer long?" Phil Coulson looked shocked,  "Are you telling me that Carol single-handedly destroyed a kilometer-long ship?"

"Exactly," Nick Fury said.

"Not surprising, given Carol's strength, it's not surprising she can do something like that," Phil Coulson repeated, mumbling about it not being surprising, but his expression clearly showed his bewilderment.

Over a kilometer long, what concept was that?

To destroy such a colossal thing barehanded!

Goodness, how powerful must she be?

Bruce Banner, like Phil Coulson, was also dumbfounded. Valkyrie and Thor were having a blast dismantling ships in the sky, but there was a ship constantly pursuing Bruce Banner, firing at him. He managed to dodge for a while, but that couldn't last. As a novice pilot, he would eventually get hit.

"There must be some kind of weapon," Bruce Banner looked around the ship, finally resting his eyes on a button.

"This one looks like a gun," Bruce Banner pressed the button directly.

"Today is my birthday. Today is my birthday!" Instantly, a cheerful song started playing.

Zoom, zoom, zoom! Not only did the ship blare out the song, but colorful fireworks also burst in the air, creating a festive atmosphere.

Bruce Banner was dumbstruck. He had thought the button was a weapon, but the result was completely unexpected.

However, it wasn't a mistake. The ship tailing the Commodore ship was distracted by the multicolored fireworks and ended up crashing.

"Yeah!" Bruce Banner yelled excitedly.

Meanwhile, Valkyrie and Thor had taken care of the other ships and leaped into the Commodore ship.

"Guys, we're about to pass through the Devil's Anus!" Bruce Banner reminded them, and the ship headed towards the massive portal.

After passing through the portal, the ship entered a familiar sky, revealing a magnificent city before them.

"I never thought I'd come back," Valkyrie said, looking at Asgard so close at hand, her voice full of emotions.

The screen darkened, and the video ended there.

"At this point, Hela should have already conquered Asgard. I wonder if Thor can defeat her this time when he returns," Stephen Strange mused.

"I think there's a good chance. Valkyrie seems really powerful in combat, and Bruce is with them," Natasha Romanoff chimed in, "The Hulk should be able to smash freely this time."

"Sorry to interrupt," Loki glanced at Bruce Banner, "What's the deal with this guy? Why does he have a ferocious beast inside him?"

"Maybe I should let it out, and you can ask him yourself?" Bruce Banner retorted.

"No need," Loki waved his hand dismissively, "I was just curious."

"I'm not very optimistic," Steve Rogers said in a somber tone, "Remember the Asgard on Earth? Why did Thor come to Earth and build a village named Asgard there? Wasn't it because he couldn't save Asgard?"

"That should've been Thanos' doing, right?" Stephen Strange speculated, "It shouldn't be Hela."

"Previously, I thought it was Thanos too, but think about it. Even if half of Asgard's people were killed by Thanos, why would Thor come to Earth to rebuild a village named Asgard?" Steve Rogers asked, "Even if half of Asgard's people were gone, Asgard was still Asgard. Why wouldn't Thor stay in Asgard to recuperate? Why come to Earth?"

"This...," Stephen Strange was taken aback, realizing that it did make sense. Even if a lot of people died in Asgard, it didn't necessarily mean Thor moved to Earth because of that!

"I think Thor came to Earth because Asgard was no more," Steve Rogers said, "So, he had no choice but to come to Earth. Thanos wanted to kill half the population, not destroy their homeland. So, it's likely Hela who destroyed Asgard."

"That can't be," Thor's face turned grim, "Hela's power is derived from Asgard. As long as she's in Asgard, her power continues to grow. She should've been guarding Asgard, not destroying it."

"Thor, while you've mentioned that Hela's power grows when she's in Asgard, are you certain that's a fact?" Steve Rogers asked, "This Valkyrie also mentioned that you would become stronger by staying in Asgard. Have you become stronger?"

"Women can be unreasonable sometimes," Natasha Romanoff chimed in, "Especially when a woman seeks revenge, she can do all sorts of crazy things."

"Could it really be that Hela destroyed Asgard?" Thor's expression turned grim, "Even with the Hulk and me teaming up, we couldn't defeat her?"

"Thor + Hulk, along with a Valkyrie, still ended up defeated. Just how powerful is this Hela?" Scott Lang remarked.

"[The third question begins, please be prepared.]"

"[Who killed the Supreme Sorcerer, the Ancient One?]"

"[A Universal Conqueror, Thanos]"

"[B Dark Dimension Lord, Dormammu]"

"[C Kaecilius]"

"[D Baron Mordo]"

"For a correct answer, you'll be rewarded with 'Magic from Novice to Mastery,' and an incorrect answer will cost you a year of life."

"'Magic from Novice to Mastery'? When I saw this reward, my eyes lit up," Nick Fury exclaimed, "This book is definitely about teaching magic! If everyone practices with this book, could we have more magicians?"

"The name reminds me of 'Java from Novice to Mastery.' They're named similarly, so I believe this book is about teaching people magic," Phil Coulson added with excitement, "I don't know if Stephen's path to magic was influenced by this book, but I do know that it opened a door for people like us, an entrance to magical powers."

"That could be a good thing too!" Pietro Maximoff chimed in, "It means more superheroes, more power, and more confidence to face Thanos!"

"If the cost of having more superheroes is the emergence of more supervillains, then I'd prefer not to have superheroes," Bruce Banner expressed, sharing Steve Rogers' view, "Supervillains aren't something ordinary people can deal with. While superheroes are catching these supervillains, there's a risk of harming ordinary people. Overall, I don't think this book is necessarily a good thing."

"Bruce, did you and Steve forget about Stephen?" Natasha Romanoff interjected, "Stephen's presence and the existence of the sorcerer team on Earth show that magic isn't necessarily a threat when practiced within certain specific groups."

"Do you know how it feels to hear you all argue about this?" Tony Stark chimed in with a half-laugh, "It's like two poor kids without any special talents arguing over whether Harvard or Stanford is better, what does it matter if the school is good or not? You're debating so intensely as if you've already got the book."

"Right, whether the book does more harm than good or more good than harm, let's finish the quiz before discussing it," Stephen Strange added, "If answering incorrectly means no book, then it's a waste of breath."

"Take a look at the options, Universal Conqueror Thanos, Dark Dimension Lord Dormammu. Just from the opponents listed, you can see how formidable the Ancient One was," Phil Coulson analyzed.

"That's evident from the title 'Supreme Sorcerer' alone," Nick Fury added.

"However, this question isn't easy to answer. We have no idea of the Ancient One's true strength, only speculation that it's significant. We don't know the extent of their power, whether they could match up against Thanos," Clint Barton pointed out.

"Match up against Thanos?" Loki laughed at this statement, "How could Earth possibly have such high-level powerhouses?"

"On Earth, we can have powerhouses who throw you around like a ragdoll, so why can't we have powerhouses who can take on Thanos?" Tony Stark retorted, this single remark silencing Loki.

"Among these four options, Dormammu is likely the most powerful. He should be capable of killing the Ancient One, and probably even Thanos," Natasha Romanoff said, "If I had to choose, I'd go with Dormammu."

"I'm choosing Dormammu as well," Nick Fury agreed, "Looking at the future regarding Thanos, even though it's incomplete, we've gathered quite a few pieces of the puzzle. In those pieces, the Ancient One has no involvement. It's clear that Thanos and the Ancient One have no connection. But it's different with Dormammu. Although there isn't a future where the Ancient One confronts Dormammu, there is a future where sorcerers are fighting against Dormammu. And the Ancient One is a sorcerer, making her a strong candidate to face Dormammu."

"At the moment, Dormammu indeed seems the most likely to kill the Ancient One," Wanda Maximoff, who had been quiet, finally spoke up, "What about Kaecilius and Baron Mordo? These two options, can they be possible? Both Thanos and Dormammu have ominous titles, 'Universal Conqueror' and 'Dark Dimension Lord.' Kaecilius and Mordo seem too ordinary by comparison."

"Kaecilius can be ruled out. He appeared during Stephen's battle with Dormammu. While his strength isn't weak, there's still a significant gap between him and someone like Thanos in terms of power," Steve Rogers explained, "As for Mordo, we lack clues and can't analyze him."

"Okay, so far, we've ruled out Kaecilius. How should we choose?" Scott Lang asked.

"If it were up to me, I'd choose Dormammu," Tony Stark stated.

"I'm also going with Dormammu," Bruce Banner added.

"I..." Steve Rogers paused for a moment, then uttered the same name, "Dormammu."

"Well, this question doesn't 'name' anyone specifically, so anyone's answer is valid. Plus, the reward applies to everyone," Nick Fury said, "How about we vote? Majority rules. I vote for Dormammu."

"Dormammu," Scott Lang raised his hand.

"Dormammu," T'Challa chimed in.

"Kaecilius," Loki raised his hand, "Don't ask why I voted for him. I just like the name. It sounds like a villain's name."

The voting quickly concluded, and except for Loki, everyone chose Dormammu.

"Then we'll go with Dormammu for this question," Nick Fury announced after everyone had voted, "Now, who will answer the question?"

"I have a bit more life to spare, so I'll take this one," Thor asserted without hesitation, "I choose B!"
