Magical Evolution of the Cultivation World

Jin Wu and Mu Yu walked around in the Eclipse Forest.

They looked around, everything was extremely dark, the trees were pitch black, even the leaves! However, because it was day, the light coming from above the forest was blood red as it shone through the leaves, leaving an eerie red light on everything.

However the light was so little that it might as well not be there. The only purpose seemed to be giving everything a red hue.

However, the duo were amazed because the forest was so colorful!

They looked at all sorts of creatures. Because of the unique ecology of the Eclipse Forest, all the animals inside were colored beautifully. Neon colors flashed all around them constantly.

Now you might be thinking, why would all these critters have neon lights on their bodies in a dark environment? The answer was because these animals were all herbivores.

Jin Wu and Mu Yu squatted near mushrooms that glowed with multicolored neon lights. It seemed to be the only plant life in the area. Jin Wu pulled out a pair of metal tongs, pinching a mushroom as he said in amazement "Cool! Magic Mushrooms!"

Mu Yu hugged her knees while squatting, "How did you know?" Jin Wu looked at her and smirked, "I've done drugs, are you impressed with me destroying my body to be cool?" Mu Yu rolled her eyes and turned to the Mushrooms, touching a Mushroom cap with gloves, muttering "So the herbivores eat this and grow neon fur to trick predators into thinking they're mushrooms." she turned to Jin Wu and curled her lips, "Maybe your hair will turn neon blue if you eat one."

Jin Wu's lips twitched and he looked at her, "You first." Mu Yu sneered, "Pussy." before turning to the Mushrooms again, wondering if they were poisonous.

Jin Wu's hand shot out and grabbed the darkness in front of Mu Yu's face. She looked at the pitch black snake in Jin Wu's hand, amazed, "Oh wow. This is incredible!" Jin Wu was awed, "The cultivation world is so strange."

They looked at the snake's eyes, observing the strange neon lights just like the mushroom.

Jin Wu rubbed his chin as he looked at the snake in his hand that was hissing at him angrily, "The ecology of this forest is awesome. This snake evolved to have the same colored eyes as the mushrooms to counteract the herbivores…" He took out a glass bottle and covered the open lid with a leaf.

He grabbed the snake head and pressed on the top of it, making the snake fangs squirt out venom into the bottle.

Mu Yu looked at the neon venom and nodded, "Mushrooms are poisonous." Jin Wu rolled his eyes, "The more colorful the mushroom, the more poisonous. These Mushrooms are probably extremely toxic." Mu Yu frowned and looked at him, "But the animals eat them, how would they even develop their immune systems without dying?"

Jin Wu frowned and muttered, "I didn't figure that part out yet. But that's the fun part!" The snake was aggrieved, it was hungry, now it was being drained.

What a sad snake life this was.

The venom stopped and Jin Wu took the snake off. He looked at it and put it down, waving "Go on, little guy." the snake was stunned and looked at Jin Wu. It hissed and cried tears of joy, slithering off, vowing to change its habits and be a good snake from now on.

Jin Wu looked at the sparkling multicolored venom, rubbing his chin, sighing "It's too strange." Mu Yu stood up and dusted her clothes, asking "What's wrong?" Jin Wu packed up the mushrooms into a glass box, closing a metal lid before putting it away with the snake venom as he replied, "What you said makes sense. If the mushrooms are poisonous then the herbivores would avoid them instead of eating them. How would they evolve?"

He scratched his head, not understanding at all.

Mu Yu pursed her lips as they walked away, "Maybe they had to eat the mushrooms to survive and the lucky ones survived?" Jin Wu rolled his eyes, "Evolution takes tens of thousands of years, or even hundreds of thousands. Do you know how long it would take for these rabbits to pass down the genetic coding for a biological immunity to poison? Forget about the neon fur, just the immune response to deal with poison that even predators don't want to eat would take an astronomical amount of time."

Mu Yu waved her finger and retorted, "But this world is different. Animals can cultivate and pass down genes, maybe it only took a generation to breed those traits." Jin Wu paused and his brows raised, "Hey. Maybe. But that would mean…"

He frowned and held his chin, "That would mean that the genetic sequence of animals in this world is a million times stronger than the ones on our planet. If the same is true for humans than…" his eyes lit up, "Then our genetics can be changed!"

Mu Yu tilted her head and a neon question mark appeared over it.

Jin Wu looked at her and his lips twitched as he explained, "Animal. Evolve. Human. Evolve." while gesturing. Mu Yu froze and her eyes blazed with flames, "I'M NOT A RETARD!" Jin Wu laughed and covered his head as they ran in the forest, making a commotion.
