"And what is that?" Sandy asked.
"Fight back," Lisa replied coldly.
"That's my girl,"
....
The next morning, as soon as they approached the campus, a group of reporters who were led by Mrs. Smith stood Infront of the gate. They blocked the gate that no one could pass as they yelled.
Lisa shifted uncomfortably next to Ethan as she watches her yell. She couldn't believe that was the woman she once regarded as her mother. After all that, she finally understood why she was so much unlike her so-called sister Lara. Like mother like daughter. At this point, she wondered if her own mother was alive.
"Are you okay?" Ethan broke the silence as he stared at her driven in thoughts.
"Yeah," Lisa replied almost in a whisper.
"Are you sure you want to do this? We can just use the other gate," Ethan was quite worried. He definitely understood Lisa's character and type. Lisa was the type of girl who was silent and easy bullied but when putting an end to it nothing could stop her.
But he still felt worried about it.
"Yes, I have to do this,"
"I'll go with you then,"
"No," Lisa immediately objected," you will stir too much attention it's better if you keep off for now,"
Ethan was one who never appeared in public and hated attention so bringing him in the limelight meant more chaos.
"Okay, take care I'll be here if anything happens," Lisa nodded her head before alighting the car.
"Are you sure she will be okay?" Kai asked as they watched her walk confidently towards the crowd.
"She will be, she is not one to be easily bullied plus this is her chance to grow up,"
"There she is, there she is," one of the reporters spotted her immediately running towards her. Ever since the scandal, Lisa had never appeared they weren't going to lose this chance ofcourse.
The entertainment industry was a place full of dirt and schemes.
"Are you Lisa Smith?"
"Yes, I am," she replied confidently but suddenly, Mrs. Smith made her way towards her.
"So you finally show up, a good for nothing daughter even if you got married don't try and forget I raised and I'm still your mother," she yelled furiously.
The word mother echoed in Lisa's head making her very furious.
"How dare you say that," Lisa interrupted her," are you even my mother? Have you ever been a mother figure to me?"
"How dare you yell at me," Mrs. Smith raised her hand up ready to slap Lisa but Lisa immediately caught it with all her strength. Mrs. Smith was however caught off guard that she stumbled behind almost falling down.
"You bastard you have no regard for me," after saying that, she knelt down forcefully trying to act pitiful Infront of everyone. Lisa wasn't surprised by it, this was how Lara behaved whenever she lost an argument she acted pitifully and pretended to cry.
"Children nowadays have no regard for the elderly,"
"Exactly, this is what they will do after raising them,"
"So ungrateful," Lisa revealed a smirk as she watched in silence.
"The reason why I'm here today is to end all this nonsense once and for all," Lisa spoke drawing everyone's attention towards her.
"Hurry and tell us," one of the reporters said.
"With me, is a copy of a DNA test between Mrs. Smith and I, intially I wasn't planning on involving the public since this is a family matter but I can't help it after all it's now a public issue," she paused and then turned to Mrs. Smith whose mood had now turned sour.
"DNA test?"
"What do you think she is going to reveal?"
"I can't wait,"
"It might be something sweet,"
Lisa watched the reporters murmur among themselves. This was what she wanted to create suspense. She opened her bag and then took out an envelope.
"Before I came here, Mrs. Smith accused me of being an unfillial child but what I want to ask her has she ever been a mother to me? Has she ever bought me new clothes? If I remember correctly I was homeschooled until I reached fifteen years when I insisted that I wanted to go to school. After I turned eighteen, I worked to pay my school fees that's how I survived. All clothes that I received were Lara's unwanted clothes. So I want to ask you today, have you ever been a mother figure to me?" After that, Lisa took out the DNA test report and then handed it to one of the reporters to verify.
"What is it?"
"What does it say?"
"Negative,"
"Meaning?"
"They are not mother and daughter,"
"It's a lie, it's all lies don't listen to her," Mrs. Smith yelled trying to get to Lisa but the reporters blocked her path.
"I hope from now on you won't spread unnecessary rumours," she turned to the reporters.
"Yes, we won't we are sorry,"
Lisa gave Mrs. Smith one last glance before walking away.
...
"How was I?"
"Very brave and beautiful," Ethan spoke, he moved forward and then placed a light kiss on her forehead.
"I'm leaving," Lisa spoke.
"Take care of yourself, I'll pick you up,"
...
"Aah, that bitch how could she?" Lara yelled as she trashed the place.
"Miss Lara calm down it's not that bad," her assistant spoke trying to calm her down.
"Yes, you have to be calm for now, we can't let the public know it affected you, remember we still have model awards," her manager spoke. They were tired of her foul mood she always had a bitter temper.
"I wonder how our little Sally is doing now," the manager spoke as soon as they had left.
"Little Sally?" The assistant replied.
"Yeah,"
"Do you mean the eight year old actress from years back?"
"Yeah, if she held onto it she would have been an A-lister actress now,"
"Woah, you were her manager?"
"No, assistant at that time,"
"I've heard about her, I heard that she was very friendly and pretty,"
"Yeah, there was this time when she shot for three consecutive days without fail but she didn't even complain instead she treated us for a meal for how tired we were, unlike Lara here," after saying that, she sighed heavily.
"Woah, she is really great,"
"Indeed she is,"
"Where is she now?"
