The Next Plan

"Did President Coin send you? You should have stayed with your family a little longer. Coming to the frontlines in the middle of the war is something you shouldn't have to face." Jacob walked alongside Katniss and after a while, he spoke those words.

Katniss stopped, looked at Jacob, and said, "Who gave you the right to always go ahead? It's not fair. You know how determined I am to confront the Capitol. From the beginning, even when you were only pursuing your own goals, I was the most resolute."

"And that's why you shouldn't be in danger!" Jacob raised his voice a bit, looked around, and after making sure no one was listening, he whispered, "I don't trust President Coin. She is much more dangerous than President Snow. That's why I sent you to District 13. You were supposed to be the face of this rebellion alongside me and be the assurance for everyone."

"I am your assurance, Jacob!" Katniss said with teary eyes. "I should have hated you for keeping the uprising from me. Am I not trustworthy enough? I may not have the power to be better than you at this, but I do have the power to protect your back, so I'm here."

Jacob looked silently at Katniss and said, "You know I have no one else in this world who matters to me, Katniss. I am fighting for you and the promise I made to Rue when she saved me. I need you to always stay safe and obey my orders."

"I can take care of myself. I came to support you, and I won't leave this place until we win the war." Katniss touched Jacob's face, sensing a difference in him, much colder. It's hard to think about what happened to Jacob in these last few days, so she will make sure to keep him in line always.

"You're a great girl, Katniss... We only have to trust in ourselves. Remember that Alma Coin is a viper hiding in the darkness, showing her sharp fangs to eliminate anyone who stands in her way. It's true that she wants to eliminate President Snow, but she is not the best choice to rule Panem."

"What are you insinuating?" Katniss asked when suddenly a sound was heard behind them.

"The lovebirds reunite once again. Now I think that TV show wasn't entirely fake..." Johanna looked at Jacob and said, "District 13 sent us toys."

Jacob nodded and said, "I'll be there in a few minutes..."

"We'll protect each other!" Katniss said suddenly, to which Jacob responded with a smile.

"Let's go, we shouldn't keep the others waiting." Katniss patted Jacob and they headed towards a tent.

"This weaponry is special. You are the best warriors we can trust, so you must be careful with these weapons." Boggs had an array of weapons on a wooden table while Brutus played with some kind of light machine gun.

"Having fun?" Jacob entered, greeting everyone without exception.

"Jacob, they are here. These weapons were specially sent for you." Boggs showed him some of the weapons that Jacob immediately recognized as his own.

"These are..." Jacob touched the advanced precision compound bow, and what interested him most was that black cloak.

"All these are the trophies from the Hunger Games you won, although no one knew what that cloak was for." Boggs then opened a box containing a rifle with a dozen magazines, a bulletproof vest, and a complete black suit.

The cloak was the optical camouflage device, a portable device that uses advanced technology to create optical camouflage around your body. This would allow you to blend into the surroundings and become practically invisible, facilitating stealth and avoiding detection by your opponents.

"I never thought I'd have this in my hands again..." Jacob held his bow, which he was very familiar with.

"Be careful with the arrows, they are explosive," Katniss joked after seeing how happy Jacob was to see his weapons again.

But if there was something that caught Jacob's attention even more, it was that weapon that was a Kusarigama, but this one was completely different. As he took it, he felt its weight, which was double, and a deeper sensation.

"Does it have anything new?" Jacob asked as he held the Kusarigama.

"The rope you hold it with has a battery powerful enough to conduct electricity and heat the cutting edge of the blade. It's a truly complicated weapon to use." Boggs explained carefully.

"I still wonder, how did they guess our clothing sizes?" Brutus measured his boots and was very surprised.

"They have our data, idiot." Enobaria said with a smile.

"Well, I suppose it's time to start the meeting to discuss what we'll do tomorrow." Jacob looked at everyone and after taking a seat, the meeting began.

"Districts 12, 11, 4, and 3 have fallen. The Capitol's power over those areas, while significant, won't be the main target. Instead, they will focus on gaining control over the other districts."

"Considered the center of technology, District 3 provides the Capitol with a wide range of electronic devices, advanced machinery, and specialized knowledge in engineering." Jacob said after projecting holograms of the districts for everyone.

"That's why they attacked with mutated beasts. They needed to control that district due to its importance compared to District 12." Katniss intervened after understanding this game.

"Although District 12 is known for its coal production and work in the mines, its significance to the Capitol lies more in its symbolic position and reminder of the Capitol's control over the districts." Boggs had this clearer than anyone else.

"Tomorrow, we'll take Districts 10, 9, 8, and 7." Jacob announced with complete confidence.

"What?"

"That's insane!"

Boggs knew this was dreaming big and said, "Jacob, while we all trust in your plans, what you're saying doesn't make sense."

"It does." Jacob smiled and said, "As we speak, the bases near those districts are being destroyed, so we must be much faster."

"Impossible!"

"I believe him!" Katniss said, receiving support from Brutus, Johanna, and Enobaria.

"You're not here to discredit what I can or cannot do. Listen and work, or else you don't need to be fighting." Jacob's words were cold.

"We must work to invade District 5... District 5 is a major provider of power for the Capitol. It is responsible for electricity generation and energy supply through technology and the renewable energy industry."

"That place will be heavily reinforced by Peacekeepers..." Boggs murmured.

"Listen to the plan, and we'll all win..."
