At the Claim Station, Noa stood in front of the rewards machine and entered his personal data.
Shortly after, the machine's sliding door opened and released several packages of resources.
"Why is there a lot? Is the machine malfunctioning?" Noa furrowed.
"It must be your lucky day. Just accept it," Eden commented with a calm expression.
Noa was still amazed. He thought that there might be something wrong with the System, but he listened to Eden and took them all anyway. When he read 'Package of Resources,' in the system prompt earlier, he didn't expect that it would be this much.
Noa felt fortunate to receive a special weapon as a reward. The Cyber Blade was a sleek and deadly blade made of futuristic metal that could slice through almost any material. He knew it would become his favourite weapon.
After collecting his rewards at Claim Station, Noa's eyes fixed on the Cyber Blade. As he touched the hilt, a surge of electricity coursed through his body. The blade felt alive, pulsing with energy.
Noa motioned to Eden, who was overseeing the inventory. "I love this weapon. It's so cool and fits perfectly in my hands," he said with a firm tone.
Eden nodded in agreement. "It's a rare blade, indeed. You got a good one."
Noa drew the blade, and it hummed to life, emitting a low, menacing sound. He swung the Cyber Blade through the air, slicing through the metal of an adjacent table as if it were butter. He marvelled at the blade's power, knowing that it would be a formidable weapon against any enemy.
Giddily putting the Cyber Blade back into the inventory, Noa turned to his teammates. "So, what did you get from the quest's rewards?"
"I received a cyberdeck," So-Rin said after she claimed her rewards. "It's a portable computer that allows the programmer to hack into system and control them remotely."
"Oh. Has the system always been this generous with rewards? But anyway, that could come in handy later," Noa said, impressed. He then turned to Eden. "What about you?"
"I got a superheated plasma pistol," Eden said, showing it to Noa. "It's a handheld weapon that shoots powerful bolts of superheated plasma. I can melt armor and shields with it."
"That's great," Noa said, looking around the dungeon.
He noticed that a couple of cleaning robots were working on cleaning up the remains of the dead monsters that had been killed.
There were many people attempting to enter the dungeon at the same time, but they had to wait. Each party only had one chance to clear the dungeon for an hour. After that, the robots would clean up the dungeon for another hour.
"Alright, I think we're done here. Let's get out now," Noa suggested.
"Let's go," Eden agreed, storing his new superheated plasma pistol into his pocket.
As they stepped out into the bright sunlight, Noa felt a rush of excitement and pride. They had completed their quest and obtained valuable rewards.
"Great job, everyone," Noa said, grinning from ear to ear. "We make an amazing team."
Eden and So-Rin nodded, and they headed to the market at the middle of city.
With their newly earned 5000 Nummus plus 100 bonus, they wanted to splurge on something useful.
As they strolled through the bustling city streets, Noa was overwhelmed by the endless options of how to spend their money at the market. Weapon shops, boutique stores, vehicle dealers, and street vendors selling rare items lined the way.
"We need a plan," Noa said, trying to organize his thoughts. "Should we upgrade our weapons or buy new armor? Or maybe invest in nutrients and poison items, or even vehicles?"
"I think we should focus on upgrading our weapons. We can't take on tougher quests without the proper gear," Eden said, "We can claim upgrade materials from the Guild Storage, actually."
"But since we're here at the market, we can just go to the weapon shop to find anything we like there or upgrade the one we have now," Noa suggested.
So-Rin nodded in agreement. "I could use a better hacking tool. It will make us proceed more efficiently in future quests."
"Great, let's hit the weapon shop," Noa said, leading the way down the street.
They entered the first weapon shop they saw and were greeted immediately by the smell of leather and metal. The walls were lined with all kinds of weapons ranging from swords and axes to guns and energy rifles.
After browsing for a while, Noa decided to upgrade his Cyber Blade so that its electricity had a longer reach and better durability.
Meanwhile, Eden upgraded his superheated plasma pistol to increase its damage output. So-Rin bought a gun and she found a more efficient hacking tool that allowed her to access even the most secure computer systems.
Noa felt satisfied with their purchases, despite having spent 500 Nummus himself. But at least, they were now better equipped for their future quests.
"I think we need a vehicle to be more efficient with our time. What do you think?"
Noa's friends exchanged looks and considered the idea.
"It could be useful," Eden stated, "But it would depend on the terrain we're travelling through. A vehicle might not be useful in certain areas."
Noa nodded in agreement. "That's a good point. But if we find a suitable vehicle, it could save us a lot of time and energy."
"Flying motorboards could be an option," So-Rin suggested.
Noa's face lit up with excitement. "Yes, that could work!"
They decided to head to the vehicle dealers right away, which was located in the market area.
The shop was a small, cramped space filled with all kinds of flying vehicles. Noa's eyes widened as they took in the array of options. They approached the shopkeeper and asked about the flying motorboards.
The shopkeeper looked at them with a sly grin. "Ah, you're looking for a flying motorboard, are you? Well, you're in luck. I happen to have just the things."
The shopkeeper led them to some small, sleek-looking motorboards that were just the right size for one person. It's a motorized skateboard that had two wheels and was powered by batteries. It was lightweight and was in good condition. It could be used in most types of terrains as it was capable of aerial travel.
Noa was ecstatic. "This is perfect! How much is it?"
The shopkeeper scratched his chin for a moment before replying, "Well, it's not cheap, but for a group like yours, I think I can do 3500 Nummus for each."
Noa winced at the high price, but he knew that the flying motorboard would be worth it in the long run. "Alright, we'll take it," he said, handing his payment card. Eden and So-Rin followed him.
The shopkeeper smiled and handed over the keys to the flying motorboards for each of them. "Enjoy your new ride, and be safe out there."
"Thank you," Noa replied, then looked at So-Rin and Eden. "We only have 1600 Nummus left. Should we call it a day?"
"Of course not!" So-Rin exclaimed and led them to a nearby building.
