Chapter 21: Tribal meeting(2)

A few minutes later, Alexander sat on a chair besides a very large table. The table was round and was completely made of wood. Around the table stood five people other than Alexander himself. Myuri, Azuri, Heena and the two unknown women.

Both Myuri and Alexander had of course worn clothes. As unlike Heena's case, this wasn't really an urgent case. so there was no need for the two to jump out of the water and start talking.

"Firstly," Myuri began, "I would like to make it official, as you can already see, the tree of life has chosen Zuri as our new chief."

Myuri pointed over towards Alexander. The two then looked over towards Alexander.

"Yeah, we've seen the thing between her legs." The tall woman said. "So i guess this means our harvest shouldn't be too bad this year huh?"

"Well, not exactly. As of current, the chief's gift has yet to bloom. And since this is the first time we have seen a chief's awakening, we do not know for exactly how long it will take. We should still be conservative with our intake."

"Fine, so what's this I hear about her having some kind of illness? Is she sick?"

"Yes, and a troubling one too. She seems to have lost all her memories of before the awakening."

"Could this be a problem attendant Myruri?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, what if this illness will pass on to our children? Since if a mother can pass on her illness towards her children, maybe the chief could too." When she said this, she turned towards the fully clothed woman.

The woman in particular didn't seem to really care.

"We couldn't know for sure since the old tribal Chief was always in tip top shape. But what about now?"

"You don't have to worry about that." This time, it was Heena that answered. "Well, you do have a good thought in mind, but it won't apply to this case. Do you know Guri"

"Azuri's grandmother?"

Heena nodded, "She too had the same illness once after an accident. But she till gave birth to a normal child."

"I see," the tall woman said.

"But isn't she also Zuri's grandmother? How do we know that she hasn't inherited it from her?"

This time, the seemingly quiet and fully clothed woman said.

At this, Everyone had no clue of how go answer. Even Heena the tribe doctor was contemplating on what she just said. In the end, Myuri said, "It does not matter if she could transfer the illness. The tree of life has already chosen her. So she must be what our tribe needs."

She then said, "I had wanted to bring this up earlier but since we are already here, I think I should just bring it up tight now. Our tribe needs new blood."

"Yeah, a year without any new babies born has taken a good toll on our numbers. Plus we went to war against the goblins last year. Five of our hunters have died." Said the tall woman.

Myuri nodded, " That is why I believe we should make a plan to develop more of our numbers."

"Do you mean, mandatory seeding?"

Myuri nodded.

"There is no other way. And I believe we should get to it as soon before the dark season arrives anyway."

"How many women do you have in mind Attendant?"

"Five."

"That... is a lot."

"I know, the is why I want to know if you can handle it."

"I can handle two on my own." The clothed woman said.

"Me too. The other will be taken care of by the other families."

"Good to know of your support."

"Uhm... can anyone explain to me what's going on?" At that moment, Alexander's voice sounded.

All this time he has been standing quietly on the chair. He didn't make a single sound as he didn't really want to disturb anyone. But as the conversation went on, he grew more confused as terms he didn't really know cropped up.

So in the end, he could not contain his curiosity and asked.

"Oh yes, I keep forgetting that you have lost your memories."
