"How could you?" Carlton asked, his voice unwavering as he questioned a man he considered his son.
"How could I? Seriously is that a question you have to ask?" Harold said as he glared at Carlton.
Nathaniel gestured for his men to prepare to protect the old man and to hold down Harold. He was worried that Harold would, in a last-ditch effort, attack Carlton Miller.
"I raised you as if you were my own," Carlton glared down at Harold as the man was kept on his knees by Nathaniel's men.
"And yet every fucking day I felt like I was just some stray puppy you picked up on the side of the road," Harold said, slowly raising his voice. "I lived in his shadow for decades, always only second best!"
Harold was now glaring at Edmond who had a shocked expression on his face.
"Would you have rather died and starved?" it was Nico that spoke this time.
