A Grave Mistake

"Fuck! How is that bastard running so fast?! It doesn't even look like he's putting in any effort!" Li Ming cursed out loud when he and his group were having trouble catching up to Bai Tian, who was speeding through the forest with light and graceful strides.

Each of his steps were filled with elegance, and it almost seemed like gravity did not affect him as his body glided through the air.

"Bastard! Stop running if you dare!"

"I am going to fuck you up when I get my hands on you!"

Bai Tian could hear them yelling at him from behind and smiled slightly.

Little did they know, he was purposefully letting them follow him. In fact, one could even say that he was guiding them.

Eventually, the group chasing after him were exhausted of stamina and could no longer run.

Bai Tian, who didn't even break a sweat for some reason, stopped running and turned to face them.

"Is that all? I was just getting warmed up." He smiled at them in a provocative manner.

"T-This bastard!" Li Ming gritted his teeth.

He then retrieved a stamina potion from his inventory and chugged it down.

The others did the same, and they could feel their stamina being recovered rapidly.

Bai Tian, who did not have a stamina limit for some unknown reason, started running again.

They would continue this farce until Bai Tian returned to the same cave where he defeated the Red Grizzly Bear.

He jumped on top of the cave and sat down, patiently waiting for the group to catch up.

A few seconds later, their figures rushed out of the tree lines.

"E…Even if you run to the end of this world, I will still chase after you!" Li Ming roared in an exhausted manner.

"Is that so? Then I am done running. Let's finish things here, shall we?" Bai Tian said.

Li Ming smiled after hearing that.

After chugging his last stamina potion that he'd received from his Beginner's Gift Box, Li Ming pointed his spear at Bai Tian.

"I see that you have another one. Looks like I will have two spears after this." Bai Tian chuckled.

"Arrogant bastard! I want to see how you will fight all of us by yourself!" Ai Ling growled at him.

"Don't worry, it'll be over before you even know it." Bai Tian said as he jumped down from the top of the cave.

There were six people in front of him.

Li Ming and two other dudes, who also had melee classes, were in the front. Meanwhile, Ai Ling and the other two were in the rear with their long range classes.

"A pretty decent formation you guys got there." Bai Tian remained calm despite being outnumbered.

"Shut up and prepare to die!" Li Ming roared.

However, just as he prepared to rush forward, Bai Tian pointed behind him and shouted with a surprised face, "What is that?! There's a powerful-looking red bear running towards us!"

"What?!"

Li Ming and everyone in his group immediately snapped their heads to look behind them, but when they saw nothing, their faces flushed with redness.

"This fucking bastard!"

They turned back around, and to their absolute shock, Bai Tian had suddenly disappeared.

"W-Where the hell did he go?!"

"Damn it! He must have logged out! That fucking coward!"

Li Ming gritted his teeth and said, "It doesn't matter. Even if he logged out, he will be in the same spot when he logs back in. I will wait for him no matter how long it takes!"

The others exchanged looks with each other. They had already wasted enough time chasing Bai Tian down, so they didn't really want to waste even more time.

However, they didn't want to upset Li Ming, so they decided to wait around for a little longer before leaving.

Fortunately for them, they didn't have to wait long before something happened.

BOOM!

One of their members in the rear was suddenly hit in the face by an explosive force that came out of nowhere, which instantly killed him.

Bai Tian received this notification as he kept his presence hidden with White Ghost's Maneuver.

Seeing that it did not extend his Criminal status, a smile appeared on his face.

"Ahh! Yang Wei is dead!"

"What?! How is that possible?!" Li Ming shouted in confusion.

"W-What just happened?!"

"I don't know! I didn't even see the attack! His head just exploded out of nowhere!" Ai Ling shouted in a terrified voice.

BOOM!

She watched as another member in the rear suddenly collapsed on the ground before dissipating into thin air.

"X-Xu Wei is also gone!" Ai Ming was in complete panic mode after watching the two by her side die without knowing how or why.

She expected herself to be next, but that was not the case, as someone from the front was struck this time.

"Wang Hao!" Li Ming turned to look at his buddy.

"I-I am fine! But I lost over half of my health from that!" Wang Hao exclaimed with blood dripping down his face.

"Shit! This must be that Martial Artist's doing! I don't know how he's doing this, but we need to find him!" Li Ming gritted his teeth in frustration.

BOOM!

But alas, Wang Hao was struck down two seconds later.

They were down to three players now, and with absolutely no idea what was even happening to them, Li Ming no longer had the courage to stay there as sitting ducks waiting to die.

"Let's get out of here! Log out before the next attack comes!" Li Ming said to the other two, who quickly nodded.

However, they received a notification when they tried to log out.

<You are not able to log out during combat. Players must be out of combat for at least 10 seconds to log out>

"What the fuck is this bullshit?!" Li Ming cried.

BOOM!

The man next to him was struck a second later.

"P-Please spare me!" The man shouted as he ran away.

Unfortunately, he was mercilessly struck down shortly after.

Now there was just the couple left, and they were feeling hysterical.

Tears flowed down Ai Ling's face as she cried, "Please stop! We will never bother you again! I swear!"

To her surprise, a voice resounded to her, and it came from behind.

"I know you won't bother me again. Because I will make sure of it."

When the couple turned around, they could see Bai Tian calmly walking towards them with a cold smile on his handsome face and a silver sword in his grasp.

It was at this moment that the couple knew they had made a grave mistake and messed with the wrong player.

"Who the fuck are you...?" Li Ming mumbled in a dazed voice.

"I'm a nobody." Bai Tian smiled before flourishing his sword.

The couple's bodies dissipated shortly after, and they were on another 24 hour cooldown for dying.
