The horror scene was vividly imprinted onto Yuan Liang’s mind. When Leng San darted off to pursue Zhang Yijiang, the man thought of getting up to flee in the other direction. But Zhang Yijiang’s limbless body changed his mind. The man couldn’t stop shuddering as he inhaled some air, thinking that it was the right choice to stay put, or else he might turn out worse than Zhang Yijiang.
Leng San stared at Zhang Yijiang’s body that was floundering on the floor in immense pain. The boy then burned the limbs that were hacked off by his blue flame qi for its owner to see.
Zhang Yijiang was about to lose his mind as he witnessed the boy. The man was hoping that he could collect his limbs and return to the sect to have the doctors reattach them. But now, his limbs had been completely pulverized along with his aspirations for the future. He glared at Leng San with contempt, ground his teeth until blood dripped from both corners of his lips.
“Why don’t you just take my life? Stop tormenting me!!”
Leng San subtly smiled.
“Did I allow you to give me orders?”
Leng San flicked his right hand and sliced Zhang Yijiang’s left leg.
“Arghhhhhhhhh!! Shit!! Kill me!!”
Leng San flicked his hand one more time to slash off Zhang Yijiang’s left arm.
“You demonnnnn!! Arghhhhhhhh!!”
Zhang Yijiang wriggled on the floor for 10 more breaths and suddenly stopped…The man died from excruciating pain and severe blood loss. His eyes, filled with vengeance, remained open.
Having witnessed Leng San’s brutality, Yuan Liang didn’t even dare to breathe loudly. The boy’s callousness was incomparable to anyone that the man had ever met in his life. The only thing he could do was to sit on his knees, trembling, unable to look at Leng San’s face.
Leng San slowly approached Yuan Liang, who was on his knees. The boy’s killing intent slowly dissipated. Yuan Liang let out a sigh. He was just following orders and had not shown any resistance or tried to attack Leng San. The man was convinced that the boy wouldn’t kill him. He was ready to give the boy any information about the Fire Fortress Sect in exchange for his life.
Leng San stopped in front of Yuan Liang and bent over to take a look at the man with a smirk on his face.
“You did not run away and even got down on your knees to beg me. So, I will....”
“Kill you fast!!”
In shock, Yuan Liang immediately sensed the overwhelming killing intent. The deathly hand, enveloped in the dragon’s razor-sharp blue flame qi, cut through the man’s neck before he had a chance to open his mouth.
Yuan Liang’s head rolled down while his body was still sitting on its knees with eyes wide open. He wanted to ask the boy what did he do to deserve to be killed!!
“Kid, you’re too cruel. The man had admitted defeat. How could you kill someone so weak?”
Freya was disgruntled at Leng San’s ruthlessness.
Leng San shook his head and explained to Freya.
“I could not let him go, as he knew too much about my information and techniques. If I let him live, he might tell the Fire Fortress Sect about what he found out. Despite the low possibility, they might be able to think of a way to deal with me in the future. I could not spare his life!!”
Freya grew silent.
“This kid is extremely cautious!!”
....................…
Since then, one incense stick had passed, Su Zhao and five instructors of the Fire Fortress Sect reached the west gate. It was as if the incident at the south gate that happened eight days ago repeated itself!! Su Zhao felt like he was stuck in a recurring nightmare that keeps getting more horrid each time!!
Four instructors with middle-level blue qi, one was beheaded, another body was separated from its head that was squashed like fruit, the third was burnt with his heart carved out, and the last body was without limbs!!
On the city’s wall, a large Chinese character, the size of a grown man, read ‘Leng’ was graffitied with blood.
Su Zhao’s body shook with anger. He never imagined that his great Fire Fortress Sect would be toyed with by a boy.
“Son of a bitch. Arghhhhhhhh!!”
Boooommmmmmmm
Su Zhao punched the Chinese character ‘Leng’ that was on the wall with one hundred percent of his qi, creating a loud explosion. A ten-meter radius hole appeared in the wall, which played an important role in the defense of the Indigo Cloud City.
“I, Su Zhao, will kill you, Leng San!!”
“The rest of you, clean up this place and do not let the people in the city know about what a single kid did to our instructors, or else our sect will surely become a laughing stock!!”
After giving instructions, Su Zhao swiftly zoomed out of the city. Despite knowing that the probability of finding the boy was low, the old man still went on with his plan to pursue Leng San as he would go crazy if he did not.
Until sunrise, Su Zhao searched all areas that were within 50 li, but he couldn’t even find a trace of the boy. As the old man started experiencing severe fatigue from overusing his qi for the light-body technique all night, he decided to end his hunt and return to the city. But once he was about 10 li away from the city’s west gate, a male voice called his name...
“Oh! Elder Su Zhao, you’re heading back already? I’m sorry for falling asleep while you were searching for me. I was about to let you continue your search for two more shichen, but, sigh… you gave up so easily.”
Leng San stood behind Su Zhao, about a hundred steps apart, doing some stretches as if he just woke up.
Actually, Leng San didn’t go anywhere far. Once he traveled about 5 li from the west gate, the boy dug a hole deep enough for him to hide in and sealed the opening, leaving just a small gap for breathing. Then he erased all of his senses to conceal himself and slept while waiting for Su Zhao to expend qi by searching for him. After that, the boy just waited until Su Zhao was about to return to the city before confronting him.
“S...son of a bitch!!”
Su Zhao had used up a lot of his qi. However, Su Zhao’s qi was at the green stage which was 2 stages higher than Leng San’s qi!! Fearlessly, the old man darted towards Leng San. The high heat from the old man’s fire qi lit up pieces of dried leaves along the way.
Leng San circulated defensive qi at once. The heat from fire qi wasn’t a problem for the boy anymore. He used his Dragon Spirit to evade Su Zhao’s fist by just a few millimeters and counterattacked with a strike imbued with a hundred percent of his qi at Su Zhao’s stomach. Leng San’s fist wasn’t able to penetrate Su Zhao’s defensive qi, but it pushed the old man three steps backward.
“Yo...you!!”
Su Zhao was surprised that Leng San was able to dodge his attack and threw a counterattack that thrust him backward. The old man burned with rage. How could a kid’s attack possibly move an elder of the Fire Fortress Sect backward? What an embarrassment!!
Leng San smugly smiled. It was the boy’s plan to refrain from using his blue flame qi. Failing to take Su Zhao’s life would put him at a great disadvantage, as the enemy would have seen too much of his hand of cards. This little sparing was just a test to see how well he could handle a user of green qi...
