Derek purposely messed around as he also knew nothing about that weird phenomenon, and this was the second time. 

And even if he knew, he would not tell Li Mei. He suspected she had feelings for him but that could not make him spill out things.

An hour later, they both sat in a sitting room, the doors and windows were still intact so it had a better means of protecting them.
