Chapter 15

The day has finally arrived.

Leon has been patiently waiting for this moment since he reincarnated in this world. Today, he will finally get to pick his very first pokemon.

He had theory crafted a couple of powerful combinations and has ultimately decided on a pokemon that this world deemed mediocre. Thankfully Prof. Oak have a few of them in his lab and is willing to give Leon one.

"Good morning, Prof. Oak! Good morning, Mike. It's a lovely day were having, isn't it?' Leon greeted.

Prof. Oak and Mike chuckled at the positivity Leon showed. They knew he wanted a pokemon ever since, so him being in a superb mood was expected.

"Before anything else, are you sure about your choice?" Mike asked.

"Unfortunately, we aren't able to let you choose from the Monarch's line, since their demand is sky high and are strictly regulated by the Pokemon Association. However, there are a lot of other pokemons with a similar level of potential in the lab." Mike suggested and turned to look at Prof. Oak wanting him to support his suggestion.

"You can also get one from the Monarch's lines if you graduate from one of Kanto region's Pokemon Trainer Schools," Mike added.

Prof. Oak just smiled. He never questioned Leon's choice for he knew that each pokemon has its own untapped potential that have yet to be discovered. He believed in Leon's ability as he saw him grow.

"Don't worry Mike, we both know that Leon will make it work somehow. Who knows he might be able to help us uncover some of its secrets." Prof. Oak said.

"Thanks Professor, and yes Mike. I am sure of my choice," Leon said confidently. I have my system with me so I'm sure it will work out, he thought.

"Alright. Follow me," Prof. Oak beckoned.

"We can't keep them together because they are aggressive to their own kind. They are kept in their own mini habitats for safety," Prof. Oak informed as we entered a different part of the main laboratory.

Inside, Leon saw rows of giant pokeballs each containing one pokemon.

"We use state of the art pokeball technology. These are technically pokeballs but have more space inside with functioning habitats." Prof. Oak explained.

"I'll release them one by one so you can check which one you have the most compatibility with, since you have Aura. Don't worry about the time and take it slow. There are about a hundred of them here." Prof. Oak said.

Leon nodded and Prof. Oak released the first pokemon. Leon used his aura to inform the pokemon of his friendly intention, gave it a pokesnack and used his appraisal.
