Message: XXV

"What do we have here?" first question that had been asked came from Chyler, as if she was trying to block Aria from talking. After all she was the nicer one to interact with.

"Well, hello, another stabbed victim." The technician sighed, waving his hand and inviting the detectives to the temporal tent they had put over the corpse.

"Looks like someone wanted to make a flesh salad." Aria snorted, seeing the massacred body. Chyler grimaced, looking at the corpse, probably trying to understand what happened and why they had another victim so soon.

"Excuse me?" the guy raised his eyebrow, trying to understand what just happened, but Callaghan didn't even bother with hiding her indifference.

"You done here?" she asked, observing another technician that was already packing the camera to his bag. When their greeter nodded, she pulled out latex gloves, put them on with loud stretching sound when the rim slapped her wrist. Then she knelt by the body and she huffed. "Yeah, someone's hobby is gore. A lot of it."

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Chyler frowned, trying to understand the total lack of emotions that her partner was presenting.

"A lot of things." Callaghan shrugged, inspecting the injuries. "Looks actually the same way as the previous one. Stumbled, got impaled like during sex with no brakes in BDSM dungeon, and then was left to rot or die." She glanced at his throat and then she frowned. "Though that's actually something weird." She pointed to the place. "It was slit."

"The other one didn't have it." Toussaint nodded. Aria did the same. They looked at each other and Chyler shivered. "Do you think about the same thing...?"

"If I can check..." she pointed at the cut "...then probably yeah."

"If you can stomach it..."

"Madeleine, if I couldn't, I would devastate all the fucking evidence we have simply by puking at them." She rolled her eyes and, without second guessing, she pushed her fingers through the cut. "Uh, yeah, there's a hole. Like, full pierce." She almost snorted, moving her fingers, looking for something. Toussaint tried not to feel nauseous at the moment, which was quite a difficult task. "Aha!" Callaghan pulled something out, keeping it between her fingers. Her voice and gaze was almost triumphant. Chyler felt queasy at once.

Aria stood up and approached both, her partner and the technician, opening the thing she pulled out of the victim's throat. They saw a piece of paper, crumpled and stained with blood, fluids and everything else, but one thing was unquestionable.

"Mon dieu." Toussaint swallowed hard, seeing the same symbol as Aria and Adaman saw during the autopsy some time ago.

"Never thought 'die-hard fan' can be taken literally." Callaghan stated, and then her companions glanced at her. The technician with disbelief, and Chyler without understanding and almost with anger. She shrugged, though, pulling out her pack of cigarettes, and then lit one of them up. "Don't look at me like that, you see with your own eyes. Hellblades for the win."

Then she rolled her eyes, waiting for the rest of the technicians to pack the body to the bag.
