Chapter 14: Wild and Crazy

I walked into my apartment with a smile never leaving my face. I put my leftovers in the fridge and took off my jacket and purse. I couldn’t believe what I said but I was glad I said it. And I wasn’t even afraid of what would happen because somehow, I felt that Tristan was nothing like those guys who had hurt me before. There was something about him that I couldn’t quite put my finger on, but I knew I’d find out sooner or later.

Neeko meowed, rubbing against my leg. I picked him up and hugged him.

“I think I’m in love, Neeko,” I said. Though I thought it was a little foolish. I had a bad habit of falling too fast for guys and I knew that it could only lead to danger. But I wanted to find out if it was truly real with Tristan. I didn’t want this to be just another schoolgirl crush gone horribly bad.

“You may not be the only true man in my life anymore,” I told the cat, kissing him. “But you’ll always be my first love.”
