Chapter 17 - Anonymous Hope Left...

"Imagination is the only weapon in the war against reality." - Lewis Carroll.

''Imagination is a term we all have; some may be conscious of it, while others may choose to disregard it. Perhaps they don't want to live with false hopes and are content to accept their unpleasant realities. Some people may desire to escape the harsh facts of life. Therefore, they typically focus on their fairyland. Whatever path you pick, none of the alternatives will help you address the problem. The most reasonable solution, in my opinion, is to evaluate the situation and look at it from a third-person perspective. You will discover flaws in your attitude if you do so. It will assist you in recognizing your weaknesses rather than those of others, which will finally solve your as well as other problems. It does not imply that you are always incorrect. If you believe you are at the correct spot and the person in front of you is erroneous, do not quarrel. You will aggravate the problem if you dispute. It will not be helpful to you and will only worsen your relationship conflict.

The questionnaire event was nothing but the event about the questions regarding players' likes and dislikes. When the global server system rolled live, this event got upgraded to general knowledge questions. I will give details about this event when we come down to the world server systems operation. Yeol finished the quiz event and then returned to the guild hall to check for some gear's collection. Unfortunately, she couldn't find any.

"What are you doing in the guild warehouse, Yeol? Are you looking for some gear?" I wrote intending to assist her in locating the equipment she required.

"Yes, I was looking for G6 gears because I have nearly completed my G5 three-star set. Three-star only has two pieces of equipment standing. Which I expect to have finished by today. So I thought of starting to collect G6 gears. Nonetheless, I believe I am too far ahead of the rest of the guild. Because they are still on the G5 set, there are no G6 gears in the warehouse. I'll have to approach the boss." Yeol raised her apprehension.

"Hmm...I can't help with G6 because I'm also working on that set. I'll be able to contribute that set once I get to G7, but it will take two or three days. Anyway, are you ready for the server launch tournament today? Tonight is Pet Rush. Make an effort to finish in the top 20. A suggestion for improvement. Devore and level your follower using your G5/6 purple and orange one-star equipment. Devouring will increase the disciple's CP and your position on the leaderboard."

"That did make sense to me. I'll attempt to use all of my purple and orange one-star gears so that I can finish the very least in the top 20. Do you have any more advice for augmentation?"

"You may visit the disciple dungeon to obtain items that will give your pet more strength. You will level up as a result of that."

Yeol questioned, "Can you explain to me the entire pet thing? In all honesty, it is perplexing. What precisely is the level-up thing? I understand we may engage in disciple dungeons to get certain beads to star-up disciples from R1 generation to R2. Are level up and start up equivalent?"

"No, dummy...disciple dungeons offer the star-up beads needed to improve the genesis of pets. On the other hand, the devouring system leverages gears to level up your pets. Level-ups boost your character's stats daily, while star-up improves the disciple's avatar. As you can see, Crescent Moon is your R1 disciple, whereas my R2 disciple is Poco Mochi." I elaborated.

"No, silly, each disciple has unique stats. Crescent Moon, for example, has the stat of encountering monsters with 3% ATK if the mob's level is higher than the character level on ten stars. If the opposing player has a greater CP on ten stars, Poco Mochi has the benefit of freezing the player on the battlefield for 2s. As a result, unlocking each avatar will provide us with different abilities. There are now three talents available for each disciple avatar, with those attributes activating at different star levels. Take, for example, Crescent Moon's talent library.

1st Skill - Moon Dance - increases the character's defense by 1%. It unlocks after three stars.

2nd Skill - Moon Blade - It increases the character's ATK by 2%. It unlocks at six stars.

3rd Skill - Moon's Special - This is a special skill that triggers under particular conditions. At 9 Star, it unlocks.

Now you understood it?"

"Ohh yes, now I got it. So each disciple has skills that get activated by the stars. It's pretty amazing. I hope this gives us a huge boost unduly. Am I right?"

"Indeed, you are right." I wrote with excitement.

"Okay, then, see you later. I am heading to the Flame Cave to hunt down some boss who needs to complete the G5 set as of now." wrote Yeol.

"Sure thing, see you later, Yeol. But don't forget to be in the top 20."

"I would give it my all. I'll swap some purple and orange one-star stuff from the guild warehouse for additional CP for my disciple. In addition, I will earn some stuff from bosses. Therefore, I believe I will be in the top 20 this time."

"Btw... I recently saw in the system that there is a section for unique pets. What exactly is it? That has some amazing disciples in it. From where can I get those?" Yeol wrote after examining the pet's inventory.

"To be honest, Yeol, it's tough for free gamers to gain such rare disciples since you have to engage in top-up activities." I wrote it.

"That explains why most top players have such high disciple CP. Those are, indeed, P2W gamers."

"Yes, I am as well. I made the initial $19 top-up."

"Are you making money?"

"Yes, I am 25 years old. To survive, I must work. Whatever I earn, I either keep it or utilize it in-game. As a player, it's straightforward."

"It's no surprise you're among the top ten, leader. I wish I could spend some money on the game, but it is not an option because I am not yet earning.

"What are you doing? What is your profession?" Yeol inquired.

"Yes, that reminds me, I never formally introduce myself, right? I am Jenny, a third-year BA student at the University of Chicago. I am working as an intern Business Development officer at Hershey's. A famous chocolate brand, you might have noticed."

"In it's my favorite chocolate brand which my brother brings every time he visits Japan." Yeol wrote in excitement.

"So that makes you a Japanese resident. I am a Canadian. Nice to meet you, Yeol." Jenny wrote with delight.

"Same here, Jenny. Anyways need to grind for the day. See you later,"

"Sure," I waved her goodbye and started looking for some stuff in the warehouse.

Yeol headed to boss level 150, where she observed Rush trying to eliminate the boss. Boss had about 60% of his HP remaining. Yeol moved in to assist in the faster and more efficient kill. However, it ended up being a disaster for Yeol.

"Are you trying to take my boss away, Yeol? You know you are not strong enough for that." Rush wrote in Zone chat after watching Yeol standing on the other side of the boss.

"I am not doing so. I am trying to help you out form a team so that I can help you." Yeol wrote with hesitation.

"Oh! Come on. I know a lot of idiots like you who like to take a share of other's bosses. I won't allow you. Nor form a team with you." Rush worte in Agression.

"Rush, you are far too preoccupied with yourself. Take control of your thinking."

"I am not filled with myself. You are the one who is overconfident in your ability to take my boss. I will not allow you to do so. Get out of my sight as soon as possible." Rush wrote sarcastically.

"You know what? I was foolish to think that you are kind and I should help you. However, I know now that anytime I see you, I must flee." Yeol wrote.

"Yes, please exit the map right now. Freaking idiot, Now that Anonymous isn't here to help you, you should keep a low profile. Got it?"

"I don't need Anonymous every time to defend me. I can do so by myself."

"Ya sure as if you can."

"Keep that attitude, and Anonymous will never come back for you."

"Why are you dragging him into the topic again and again?"

"Cause it's because of you he left. He won't be coming back, Yeol, its' all your fault." Rush shouted in world chat.

"Enough with the hustle. Do not instigate controversy in world chat." Elegant, the Legacy's leader, wrote with a commanding tone against Rush.

"What is it my fault Ms.Elegant? could you enlighten me upon that? I know nothing."

"Yeol, it's not your fault. You are nothing more than a punching bag for Rush. He seeks a victim to lay the blame. Anonymous abandoned the game because he had some pressing obligations in his real life. That concludes our conversation."

"So he won't be returning?" Yeol questioned with mild trepidation in her heart. She wasn't seeking a response. She wanted someone to refute the assertion that Anonymous left the game unfinished. She didn't have much luck that day, unfortunately.

"Perhaps not," wrote Naru.

Yeol could only type "I see" in the World chat window. She could have been traumatized. Perhaps, she was now too afraid to speak to anyone. Suppose she loses one of them once again in this manner.

It is unavoidable that Yeol used to form strong attachments to individuals. She doesn't hesitate to become overly interested in someone's life. She had a peculiar habit, but it was what made her special.
