Making A Name (I)

I grabbed a spare towel from the rack and wrapped it around my waist after taking a short shower. I wanted to visit my temporary residence with Ito, but I decided to postpone it since my whole body was covered in soot and I didn't want to roam around in the city in my Dragon form, no matter how cool that would have been.

"Jesus fucking Christ! You are just a fucking kid!" A woman screamed and I turned around to find Hayama Mimi, the woman who tried to escape while I was forcing Ito to surrender. I wasn't able to get a good look at her the first time, but I was sure that instead of foolish arrogance, I saw clear confidence radiating off her.

That was the reason why I liked her... For whatever reason, she was confident facing me. I don't think it was stupidity, it meant she possessed a strong Quirk or something like that... Maybe, I should learn about all of them after completing my self-appointed task.

"And this kid can beat your ass into the next century" I deadpanned as I fixed my hair while giving her a look from the corner of my eyes.

Mimi raised her hands in the air in surrender. "I never said I had any problems with you being a kid!" The woman quickly defended herself in case I decided to retaliate.

"So, why are you here?" I asked as I finally turned toward her. "And where the hell is Ito?" I asked with a scowl. I remember asking him to wait here while I showered. Did he bolt in the meantime? I would be extremely annoyed if he did.

"I came to tell you that Jun just took the van to the cleaners" Mimi answered and I nodded my head in understanding. "And Ito is waiting for you in his car" Mimi added after a moment.

So, he didn't run away… That's good. However, I shouldn't have left him out of my sight. Unfortunately, it was impossible for me to keep an eye on him 24/7, which meant that I had to trust him to some extent. "Alright. Tell the others to stay here until I am back" I said as I started to leave the office when I heard her mutter something under her breath.

"It's not like we have anywhere else to go" Mimi muttered under her breath and stopped in my tracks when I heard her.

"Then where do you guys stay?" I asked with a frown on my face.

"Most of the time, we crash in here. It helps us open the club early" Mimi explained, but that wasn't the answer I was looking for.

"I meant, don't you guys have your own places?" I asked, repeating my question.

"A couple of us do, but those places are basically dumps. It's better if they stayed here. Jaku City is a very dangerous place. Sometimes, people leave their workplaces, but then they disappear, never to return" Mimi explained in a low tone while making a face. I simply stared at her for a moment before scoffing.

"You are fucking with me. You have to be exaggerating!" I exclaimed with a look of disbelief on my face. Yes, Jaku City was bad, I have heard quite a bit from Ito, Satou, and Jun, but it couldn't be that bad, right?

"Who taught you to speak like that?" Mimi snapped at me, but I simply glared at her, making her feel uncomfortable. After shifting uncomfortably for a moment, she finally decided to speak. "...I might have exaggerated a bit" Mimi admitted squeamishly.

"Well. Whatever, I am going…" With that, I bid her farewell for the time being and started to leave. I wanted to know why she decided to lie to me, but I had already wasted a lot of time. I am sure she was going to tell me later if it was really that important and if she lied so that they could stay at the club, I had no problems with them staying at the club.

I managed to leave the club without meeting anybody else, which was a good thing since the only thing I had to cover myself with was a towel, and I don't think I could look intimidating with a towel wrapped around me… I saw Ito sitting in a car and while I failed to recognize his car, I knew it was a Nissan.

"Fuck me sideways! They told me you were a kid, but I didn't believe them. Just my fucking luck to be beaten by a fucking kid" Ito continued to grumble unhappily as I climbed into his car. "So, where are we going?" Ito finally asked after taking a deep breath to calm himself.

"Do you know the 7-storey building, which was still under construction, but it was abandoned before it was completed?" I asked, earning a nod from him. "Take me there" I ordered.

"Can I ask why we are going there?" Ito asked as he pulled the car out of the parking zone.

"I was staying there for the last couple of days" I answered and once again, he nodded his head in understanding. "By the way, is this city safe for women?" I asked and he started to laugh at my question.

"Why? Isn't it too early for you or something like that?" Ito asked while laughing.

"Just answer the question" I snapped as I glared at him, making him raise his hands in the air.

"Alright! Alright! Sheesh! You need to calm down, kid" Ito shook his head in exasperation. "As for your question. Women disappear quite frequently in this city, it's nothing new" Ito shrugged.

"Fucking shit! This city is a hellhole!" I didn't know how to feel. I chose Jaku City due to the lack of Heroes and the crime rate, but I might have chosen too well.

"Yes exactly!" Ito agreed with a laugh.

"Is that why you let the women stay in the club?" I asked and after a moment, Ito nodded his head in agreement.

"Look, I know I am not a good boss, but they had been working for my father for years. I didn't want to lose any of them to the underbelly of this hellhole" Ito answered after a moment of silence. "So, what about you, kid? Did you run away from home or something?" Ito asked as he tried to change the topic.

At first, I thought Ito was just a spoiled kid with too much money in his bank account, but he genuinely cared about the people working for him, but he couldn't express his true feelings to them. "We are here" Ito finally stopped the car. "Looks like someone is having quite a party up there" Ito said warily as he started to the building.

We could hear screams from down here, but I knew something was wrong. I was here for two days and the place was always silent except for the day I arrived here since people were screaming when I broke their bones. "Hey…" I heard Ito call out to me, but I was already bolting toward the building…
