His Bride

~~~~~ Ace's Mansion ~~~~~

Alix woke up groaning from the aches she felt in her body, her eyes were shut by the flash of light before her eyes. She shut her eyes for some seconds before opening them once again, her eyes stared up at the ceiling before turning to stare at her surroundings.

She glanced around the room trying to figure out where she was, she recognized this wasn't the room she was locked up in. It had more design and also had a refined look unlike the other, as she sat upright to stare properly across the room a sharp pain shot through her hands.

"Ah! Oh my God!" She cried out in a scream notifying the maids at the door that she was awake, they all quickly rushed into the room. Alix glanced at the hand that pain shot through a moment ago, she glanced with a confused expression.

She wondered why there was a needle pierced into her skin with a normalized drip, her eyes turned towards the door when it clicked open. "Are you alright young miss? Please lie back down, you are hurting yourself." The maid muttered with a worried expression walking to Alix's side to support her.

"It's alright am not hurt, am okay... " Alix remarked refusing to take the maid's help, "how did I get here?" She asked staring around the room, she couldn't remember how she ended up in this room.

"Miss, don't you remember what happened? I mean what you did do to yourself?" The maid questioned gazing at Alix with an awkward expression. "What happens... " Alix didn't get to finish her words before everything came flashing into her head, she remembered how she had used a knife to cut her wrist to end her life.

Her eyes widened in surprise, shock, and anger at the same time. She felt like hitting herself for trying to die so easily, she had lost her mind that morning and had decided to do that in the spur of the moment. Her lips were parted, and tears started falling from her blue eyes making them look like the ocean.

"Miss, why are you crying? Please stop crying. Please don't cry. Am sorry if I said something hurtful to you... " The maid consoled in an anxious tone, she moved closer to Alix to pat her back. The maid wasn't exactly a young lady, she was also a mother.

"I can't believe I attempted to commit suicide, being so foolish. How could I do that, what will happen to mother? What about father? Am so stupid, stupid, stupid.." Alix muttered hitting and banging her hands and legs on the bed, she was filled with guilt.

"It's alright young miss please stop crying, stop hitting your hands like that. Your injury will reopen miss please stop." The maid consoled in a worried tone, she wanted to go out and call for help but she was afraid the young miss will do something detrimental to herself before she gets back to the room.

After a while Alix calmed down and stopped crying, she wiped away her tears and sat staring out the window lost in thoughts. Two hours had passed since she woke up but she had spent them crying and throwing tantrums, her stomach grumbled as she sat alerting the maid standing in the room.

"Do you want to eat miss? I can get you something to eat if you want?" The maid mumbled moving closer to Alix, when Alix didn't respond she tapped her hands jolting Alix out of her thoughts. "I asked if you would like some food. You look skinny and pale."

The maid uttered, "you also need to eat for proper recovery too, if you don't eat then am afraid you will become extremely weak." The maid coaxed like the mother she was, she saw Alix as her daughter "I am not feeling hungry, I don't want to eat. When will the master come back?" Alix drawled out sluggishly. "I don't know miss but I will get you some food now, you need to eat okay? Just wait a few minutes I will be back." The maid mumbled in a hurry to-be and rushed out of the room leaving Alix alone.

Alix gazed at the door for some minutes before turning her eyes back to the window, various thoughts were currently running through her heart. She didn't know what to do or how to do it, she felt worried for her family and the problems there were facing because of her. "Am tired of all this, I can't let father suffer because of me. I will get married to him, it won't hurt if I do. I will prove to everyone I am not the same anymore." Alix mumbled to herself.

Ace arrived at the mansion an hour after she was done eating, he slowly got down from the car and matched into the mansion. He maintained his cold and silent aura as he walked in, the air around him was much thicker than it was usually as. He matched up the stairs with his shoulders squared and straight. He walked towards his room after climbing up the stairs, his eyes were dull and almost lifeless. He pushed the door to his room open and was met with Alix's gaze directly at him, he cleared his throat before walking in.

"Are you alright? How are you feeling now? I have something to tell you, I have decided to..." He trailed off going straight to the point but Alix interrupted him,

"I have something to say too, let me talk before you do so," Alix mumbled, her left hand balling into a fist as she hid it under the sheets.

She was going to make a hard decision which made her feel nervous. "Go on." Ace muttered waiting for her to complain as always, "I will do it, I will marry you. I will become a mother to your child." Alix dropped the bomb, her fist clenched tight.
