February 5, 2034.
They prepared to leave, and after days of preparation...
The expedition marched without stopping. In enemy territory, it was not easy to stop.
Viktor was at Marcus' side, in General Glak's division.
Surprisingly, Marcus had managed to climb quite a few levels, managing to be almost on par with his family, who spent a month on a world with more experience and a time delay.
The planet had leveled up...Now, it was level 25, that sure helped, but...
Surely there was some secret to leveling up that fast...
When asked, Marcus was embarrassed, but decided to admit that he asked for help from his "daddy".
It seems there was no one simple in his abnormal family.
They agreed to help them at the front, which surprised even Glak, who cheerfully welcomed them.
Of course, the family's decision was not simply out of solidarity.
But that didn't matter, since the group had managed to reach a harmonious atmosphere of friendship...
The first few days were easy...
A few monsters here and there, but nothing to worry about...
But soon, the real war would begin.
They had managed to recruit many people, both soldiers and associated hunters.
Would there be more than 500?
' I had never seen such a large march in real life.'
All ready to fight.
As befitting a great battle, a gathering was necessary.
This time, not even Glak could participate.
Twelve high-level people gathered.
Among them were the brothers Edsson Odxon and Lamber Odxon.
When this happened, everything was already prepared...It was night, when the orcs were sleeping. The orc camp was already so close that their dwellings could be seen.
It was the ideal occasion to attack.
Minor conflicts arose between these commanders, but it all ended in a unanimous agreement to rush to attack.
The commanders quickly went to their respective positions in order to get ready, in only 15 minutes they planned to give the order that would start everything…
Just a few minutes before the gathering ended, at a location near the meeting, while General Glak was having a quiet lunch, a woman suddenly appeared in his room:
"We can't attack now!"Emma declared, raising her voice to General Glak.
"What...Why couldn't we...The attack is ready now..."
"We must attack tomorrow, at approximately 10 o'clock in the morning. "Emma stated firmly.
"If you attack now, my family will not join."(Emma).
"Neither should you, she said, looking at Glak and his unit."(Emma)
"If the attack is ordered, I must attack!"(Emma) Glak responded.
"Marcus...Please don't attack." Lucia requested.
Marcus smiled, and then, replied the same as Glak.
"You will die if you attack..." Emma said firmly.
"At least, I'm sure that Marcus would die."(Emma).
"And the operation will most certainly fail."(Emma)
"And how do you have that certainty?"(Glak) asked.
"It's a secret...You can believe us or not believe us, as we said before, if you don't believe us, we won't bother to participate!"Viktor replied, stepping in front of his mother and putting an arm in front of her, while looking seriously at Glak.
Glak sighed, as he looked at the young man's seriousness, it didn't seem like a joke by any means.
After thinking for a brief moment, Glak brought his friend Lamber, Marcus' uncle.
With the family telling him this, Lamber started another meeting, where this time, both the family and Glak were inside, along with the 12 high level commanders.
This delayed the whole plan of attack and some of the 12 commanders were angry about this meeting, they were expecting something really important to do something like this...
Lamber only agreed to this after hearing his nephew Marcus talk about the family and after seeing that they were pretty high level people...
He thought that if they were put together, they could be an important addition to his forces. They had no reason to lie, and Marcus seemed to trust them.
"I think we should delay the operation" Glak stated.
"We should wait until 10 o'clock the next morning." (Glak)
"And why would that be?" asked Edsson, Marcus' father.
"Emm... I know..." Emma spoke up
"I can predict what's going to happen..."
"What an absurd thing to say Glak?!" Declared a grizzled looking man with a muscular body and short hair, named Érnes.
"You don't even remember your place?!!!"(Ernes).
"A dirty level 37 and slightly better than average civilians, trying to tell us what to do?"
"See the future?Don't you want to come up with some more realistic fantasy?!"
"You're just a replaceable man, who got to a decent rank only because of someone else's help!" he declared, pounding the table.
"AND YOU CAN REPLACE ME?!!!" Lamber shouted, furious, pounding the table even harder than Ernes.
"Don't think so much of yourself just because you know how to investigate!!!"
Lamber smashed a glass with his hands.
"Just researching?!"(Lamber)
"At least I'm good for something, I'm not some useless old scumbag who thinks he's better than everyone else, just for being helped to increase in strength."(Lamber)
"You don't even have an important contribution really" Lamber retorted.
"ENOUGH!!!" Edsson shouted.
"Here, whatever you decide will be done!" He roared authoritatively, glaring angrily at Ernes.
"Or are you going to replace me?!"Edsson, current leader of this operation, sneered.
"Watch your mouth when you say you're going to replace someone I recommended for his military post!"(Edsson).
"I DO NOT WANT TO SEE ANYONE SAYING THAT SOMEONE CAPABLE DOES NOT DESERVE HIS PLACE!"(Edsson).
"And my order here is that we will proceed as the lady instructed!"(Edsson).
" I believe her words carry the truth" He spoke as he looked at his son hesitating as he watched Lucia hold his arm.
His son wouldn't hesitate because of the words of a stranger who could easily lie to him...
"WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?!"(Ernes)
"DON'T FORGET THAT IT WAS US WHO CAME TO HELP YOU!!!"(Another commander)
"JUST BY YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS ALONE YOU HAVE NO AUTHORITY TO COMMAND US!!!" The veins in Ernes' neck seemed to jump, twitching non-stop, swelling with "every jump" more and more.
The furious discussion ensued, with supporters of the different sides shouting angrily at each other.
Ernes' point of view had a great deal of support, as no one who saw the future was truly known...
And that someone was just a normal civilian, when all those eccentrics who could change the world were people supported by organizations, who could quickly rise to a high level, was absurd.
Among this group, there were calmer ones, who were not going to shout like gorillas demonstrating that they had the ability to shout louder than the others...
The most reasonable was George Silman.
Ernes "led" the gorillas who screamed non-stop...
Edsson and Lamber were generally calm, but when yelled at by "the gorillas," they were sometimes overwhelmed by the urge to kill.
