Chapter 146 "Ashes

Heidi did not notice anything unusual in her father's tone.

"Yes," she nodded calmly, "I went with Vanna to Mr. Duncan's antique store, had a chat with Mr. Duncan, and then I performed hypnotherapy on Nina. After that, we came back together."

As she spoke the last part, she hesitated briefly, contemplating whether to tell her father about the fire incident she'd heard from Nina and Vanna's strange reaction after hearing about it. In the end, she decided against it.

The serious expression Vanna had in the car was still vivid in her memory. There might be dangerous hidden powers involved in this matter, and it might be serious enough that speaking it aloud could attract prying eyes—although her father, like herself, was a true Believer of the God of Wisdom Rahm and to some extent a Transcendent being, he was more like a pure scholar, akin to most Believers, and not adept at dealing with such dangerous entities directly.
