Chapter 61 Unstable Voyage

Duncan led Alice back to the upper deck of the Homeloss—the cold World Creation still hung high in the night sky.

He thought he had explored inside the ship for a very long time, even suspecting that a night had passed, but now, looking at the deep night sky, it seemed he had only been below for a few hours.

Yet just those few hours had been enough to deeply impress him with the bizarre and extraordinary sights he had witnessed.

He still remembered the inverse patterns of light and shadow in the cabin and that door at the bottom... especially that door. What exactly lay behind it?

The lantern in Duncan's hand had gone out. He walked slowly towards the captain's quarters with the doll, the two hardly speaking—the doll seemed to start practicing cooking in its head, while Duncan's attention fell on the buildings on the deck around him.
